It was the end of the school day and the hallways were jam packed with students who were all on a mad dash to get out. Tensions ran high amongst the bustling crowd as the teens pushed and shoved their way through. Some fights already broke out, it was as if a bunch of rabid animals were just let loose and now began to turn on each other.
Amongst all the chaos roamed a girl going the opposite direction from most of the crowd. her eyes focused more so on the book in her hand than on the people around her as she moved through the crowd. At least she was able to move past others with ease while her mind was focused elsewhere. It was on of the few times that Mitsukai found her size to be rather useful. Being much smaller than most students she could easily duck and weave through the crowd and somehow manage not to get trampled on.
Today Mitsukai was trying to get to the library before she headed home for the rest of the day. The book she was carrying with her at the moment she had just finished during her last class and she thought it would be a good idea to return it and grab a new one. She had been a bit slower in finishing this book, not because of its size (though it was rather big on first glance) but because she had been preoccupied with other things. It had took her almost a week to get back into the mood for reading so she did not even know if the book she had just finished was not overdue. Which of course was what she was trying to find out as she checked the back of the novel now.
It was then that some girl just HAD to bump into her, hard enough to slam her right into someone else. She growled in annoyance, sending an icy glare to the now retreating figure. Damn that stupid bitch! She'd have to pay for that later.
"I'm sorry are you okay?" she asked apologetically to whoever it was she had been thrown into. Sure that stupid bitch might have been the one to knock her into him but in a way it was partially her fault for not paying attention to her surroundings. One could only hope the guy would take the apology and leave things at that but the chances of that were low. This was 259 after all it was unusual for people to act civilized right?

Like mostly all the students in the hallway, Kazuya was standing at his locker, grabbing the books he needed, before packing them into his shoulder bag. Once he had grabbed what he needed, he slammed his locker door shut, and turned to head out of the school, only to feel something collide into his torso, his arm instinctively moving to catch whatever had slammed into him, as he ended up face to face with... nothing? There was no one in front of him, or so he thought, as he looked around and then down, and saw it had been a girl that had ended up face to face with him... well, more like her face to his stomach, as he easily towered over her. Why is it no matter where he went, he always towered over the girls? ["... Yeah, I'm alright, are you okay?"] He asked, as he bent down slightly, now the same height as the girl, as he got a good look at her face. She looked like a typical Asian girl, Japanese he guessed, but her eyes, they were what really stood out. They looked exactly like a cat's eyes. Talk about different, but then again, Kazuya couldn't really talk, his eyes looked much like a hawk's, extremely fierce and intense despite the confidence that shone in them.
["You might want to watch out, most students here would jump at an excuse to punch the lights out of someone, they don't give a rat's ass if it's a girl or not."] Kazuya said, as he moved back over to his locker, leaning against the door, as he folded his arms across his chest, waiting for the hallway to clear out, once it had, he continued to stay leaning against his locker, as he noticed the book the girl was carrying. "... Library?" He asked, as he motioned with his head at the book, as he heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway. "That's her!" He heard a girl's voice cry out, as he looked past Mitsukai from the corner of his eye, and saw a very angry, very pissed guy with a girl hanging onto his arm. "You got some nerve, growling at my girlfriend like that!" The guy rumbled, as he started towards them, but before anyone could even react, Kazuya had already pushed off his locker, and before the guy could even blink, Kazuya had decked his lights out with a right hook. "Pathetic..." Kazuya muttered, as the guy crumpled to the floor in a daze, his girlfriend trying to get him to stand up, which was currently unsuccessful.

"... Yeah, I'm alright, are you okay?"
"Yeah....I'm okay." she said as the stranger looked at her. She couldn't help but notice his eyes as well. They resembled that of a hawks, wild and fierce they were interesting to look at.
"You might want watch out, most students here would jump at an excuse to punch the lights out of someone, they don't give a rat's ass if it's a girl or not."
Oh didn't she know that all to well, she certainly had been in this school long enough to figure that out. Hell that was exactly how she got into a fight with Matrim the first time they met, but in that case he had bumped into her and yelled at her when she was not at fault. Something that the girl didn't take too kindly to. It was not the brightest idea to piss off one of the strongest students in school but Mitsukai had been too stubborn to not fight back.
Well at least this incident wouldn't turn into another brawl, this guy seemed nice enough not to make too big a deal out of this incident. That was good. When he no asked her if she was heading to the library she gave a brief nod not sure if she should continue this little conversation or leave now when she heard some girl call her out.
She gave the incoming couple a glare as the approached her. Great the bitch shoved her first and actually had the nerve to bitch about her growling back. Mitsukai could have done far worse, like beat the bitch into a coma but at least she had been civil (by her standards >.>) about this.
"You got some nerve, growling at my girlfriend like that!"
"And your girlfriend has some nerve to push others around as if she owns the place." she retorted, growling at the man in turn but that was all she managed to get out before Hawk eyed man beat him into submission. She blinked in surprise, boy he was fast he took that guy out in a single strike like he was nothing.
"You didn't have to do that." she told him. "He was after me not you." She didn't say that out of pride or to be rude, she just didn't want to have someone get into trouble because of her. Sure he seemed strong enough to handle himself but it was actions like that that only attracted more problems for the outsider that helped.

Kazuya nodded his head slightly, at least the girl was alright, if it had been someone else, he was sure they wouldn't think twice about yelling at and fighting the girl, something that Kazuya knew too well about, he had experienced his fair share of random outbursts of fights, not just here at Public High School #259, but also back at Public High School #42. Definitely wise to not piss off any of the stronger students in the school, Kazuya didn't know how high he stacked up against them, but in actuality, he was one of the stronger students. Though it seemed that the peaceful moment didn't last for very long, as the girl that rammed into Mitsukai, came back, with her angry boyfriend in tow. Kazuya cocked an eyebrow, you have got to be kidding me... She ran crying to her boyfriend, and wanted him to get Mitsukai back for growling at her, when she had been at fault? Sometimes the things people do absolutely amazed him. But before Mitsukai could say anything else, though her first and only retort did make him smirk, Kazuya had punched the lights out of the guy, as he fell to the floor like a sack of potatoes.
"... He was starting to annoy me." Kazuya replied, shrugging his shoulders casually, fully facing Mitsukai, as things went back to peaceful... or maybe not, as a group of the guy's friends rushed past Kazuya over to their friend. "Hank?" One of them said tentatively, kneeling beside the twitching body on the floor. "Get his head up," One of the other jocks ordered anxiously. Kazuya laughed inwardly. That was always good advice if a person might have a broken neck. It would kill them instantly. While two of the big guys tried to get their friend back up, the third stood and moved up to Kazuya. "You wanna tell me what happened?" Kazuya shrugged, glancing down at the still-twitching jock without fully turning around. "I don't know." "What do you mean you don't know?" the guy demanded. Kazuya watched the guy's hands clench up into fists. Clearly the guy wanted a fight. "Maybe he's sleepy," Kazuya said sarcastically. "How would I know?" The guy grabbed the back of Kazuya's jacket and spun him around. "What? Are you trying to be funny? Come on, just give me an excuse to stomp your ass." Kazuya looked at the guy in mild interest. Then with a quick spin, he drove his elbow directly into the guy's face. The feeling of smashing flesh and the sound of the guy's nose breaking were beautiful. Pure poetry.
The guy dropped to the floor faster than his friend had. Kazuya shook his head. These guys were big, which meant they had more weight pulling them down. And clearly they had no threshold for pain. "That excuse enough for you?" Kazuya asked as the guy as he laid there, clutching at his nose. The other two were on Kazuya quick, considering their size. He let them pin his arms, let them think they had him, as they held him one on each side. The guy with the busted nose slowly climbed to his feet and faced Kazuya, who was now pinioned between the jock's two friends. Blood streamed down the guy's chin and dripped onto his jacket, turning his jacket dark. Kazuya just smiled. That infuriated the guy even more, and he reared back. He placed his anger behind his fist and hit Kazuya square in the face. Kazuya moved his head slightly, timing the turn with the punch. The blow hit him solidly against the chin. He'd felt worse before. Not only was this guy big, he was weak on top of it. The guy looked surprised, and held his hand as if he had hurt it. More than likely the idiot had. The two who thought they were holding Kazuya clutched tighter.
Kazuya shook his head from side to side. "That was pathetic." The broken-nosed jock took another full swing, this time hitting Kazuya in the gut. Kazuya doubled over, pretending the guy had actually hurt him. As he was bent over, he clenched his fists and pushed the knuckles of each hand against the a leg of one of his captors. Then he activated his Qi. Flames engulfed both his arms. Flames burned through cloth as if it wasn't there. Both jocks suddenly shouted in pain and let go, each grabbing his leg. The bloody-nosed jock stared at his two friends as they collapsed to the floor and screamed in pain, burns seen on their legs. "What did you do?" he demanded, panic beginning to edge into his voice. Kazuya stepped towards the guy. "You always ask the same stupid question?" The guy backed off slowly, as he saw Kazuya's flame engulfed arms, and stared wide-eyed at him. "Run." He said into the jock's face. The guy tripped over himself as he scrambled down the hallway, clearly not caring about his friends, who were still writhing in pain on the floor. Kazuya took a moment to glance around, as he made eye contact with Mitsukai, flames still covering both his arms. "..."

"... He was starting to annoy me."
Fair enough she supposed, it couldn't be helped really what happened. Hell she might have done the exact same thing in this guy's position.
Before Mitsukai could open her mouth to speak again a group of jocks (she assumed they must be friends of the guy who was knocked out.) came their way, rushing over in a panic over their fallen comrade. She watched them trying to help the man get up, shaking her head in dissappointment. It didn't take a genius to know it was not a good idea to start moving and injured person without first seeing what exactly was wrong with them first. What if the poor bastard had broken his neck? Lifting his head up would kill him instantly, did jocks really have no common sense?
Of course one of the retards had to go and act all high and mighty to the one who caused all this. It looked like these bastards didn't even notice her presence, which was just as well if you thought about it. Why get yourself into more trouble right? Besides this guy could handle himself and would probably not like her butting in to his defense so she kept quiet and stood her ground.
It didn't take long for the jock to go down, he fell to the floor like a ton of bricks. It was rather amusing, but of course the rest of the group did not think the same. In an instant the hawk eyed man was surrounded, being held in place by the others while the first bastard who's nose was now broken got back up to have his revenge.
There was no other choice she had to act. No matter how powerful this guy was it was still an unfair fight three against one. She couldn't just stand around and let these punks do whatever they pleased, it was time to kick some ass.... But once again before Mitsukai could join in the other guy already made his move. Instantly the two jocks holding him back were set on fire, the one with the broken nose running away in sheer terror abandoning everyone else.
Mitsukai couldn't help but blink a little in surprise. So here was another person with a fire based Qi, this had to be like the third guy she knew with that kind of power; he must be strong.
She looked back at him for a moment before her gaze drifted back down to the two jocks withering in pain on the floor and the first jock whose girlfriend was still crying over him. As much as the lot of them deserved what they got as a pillar she could not just leave a group of injured students laying there in the middle of the hallway. It probably be a good idea to get the nurses office to come and clean them up.
"As much as I'd love to see these fools suffer it is probably best to get them some help. I'm going to go to the nurses office and get them some help. You can come with me if you like."

Kazuya knew he wasn't the only one with a flame-based Qi, Matrim had one, his shield Qi having disappeared and replaced with a flame-based one, much like what Kazuya was currently able to do without much repercussions, after the real Kazuya had died at Point Hope. He guessed the pain of losing your real best friend and rival was enough to morph a Qi into something entirely different than the previous one. Gabriel's Qi was similar too, in that his was heat-based, instead of flame-based. Deactivating his Qi, Kazuya followed in the direction the girl was looking at as he saw her gaze drift down to the two jocks lying on the ground withering in pain from the burns on their legs, while the first jock Kazuya had punched out was still lying unconscious on the ground, his girlfriend still sobbing over him. As if THAT was going to wake him up.
"I got nothing else to do right now." Kazuya replied, casually shrugging his shoulders, as he headed in the direction of the nurse's office, walking beside Mitsukai, his hands in his pockets. "I'm Kazuya, but ya can call me Kazu. What's your name?" He asked, as he continued down the hallway. He didn't actually know that Mitsukai was the current Varsity Captain, his former old title before he had given it up willingly, and even if he did know, he wouldn't fight Mitsukai for it anyways, despite the fact he was a lot more stronger than she was, heck, he was far more stronger than Kevala, the current Head of the School Newsletter. He didn't need the Pillar title, he had it once, even if it was for a little while, if he had wanted to regain his old title, he would've fought for it and taken it back a long time ago. "Most students wouldn't give a rat's ass about injured students, they'd probably just ignore them. Are ya one of the four Pillars in 259?"

"Pleasure to meet you Kazu." She said, giving him a small but friendly smile. "My name is Mitsukai, my friends call me Mitsu. And yes I am the varsity captain in this school." She introduced herself not even hesitating to tell him her title. There was no real point in hiding it anyway even though she once had been hunted down and then beaten because of it. As far as Mitsukai was concerned if someone really wanted to steal her title again they would have tracked her down like Ryu had if the simply did not know who she was. Kazuya was strong but at the moment he did not pose a threat to her.
Besides he did ask her so she simply answered. What was the harm in that? A pillar could not fear the other students anyway so she would never bother to keep that a secret.

Kazuya couldn't help but chuckle. Not only was she one of the four Pillars, confirming what he had thought, but she was also the current Varsity Captain no less, he had been her predecessor. "Well nice to meet ya Mitsu. I was your predecessor. I used to be the Varsity Captain." And it was true he posed no threat to her, regaining his old title, especially now that Matrim was School Captain AGAIN, was the least of his concern. But even though he knew that Matrim was the current School Captain, and now that Mitsukai was the current Varsity Captain, he didn't know, well, to be more precise, never bothered to find out who the other two Pillars were. "So who're the other two Pillars? I think EVERYBODY knows by now that Matrim Gallagher is the current School Captain." Kazuya asked, resisting the urge to roll his eyes, as he stopped in front of the door to the nurse's office.
If it didn't concern him, he wouldn't bother to go searching around, he had no interest in doing so anyways. This made the third school Matrim became School Captain of? First was Point Hope High, where he had been a Pillar, Matrim appointing him as the Student Body President. Then Public High School #42, but he had been pretending to be his own cousin during that time. And then finally, Public High School #259, where Kazuya was made Varsity Captain by David Blaze. After giving his title up, Kazuya had maintained a low profile, even though he was part of Regalia now. Besides, Mitsukai in turn, posed no viable threat to him, and even if she did, he could easily defend himself against her. He wouldn't fight against someone unless they attacked him first.

"Well nice to meet ya Mitsu. I was your predecessor. I used to be the Varsity Captain."
Kazuya was the previous Varsity Captain? Well what a coincidence, it was she never expected to bump into one of the former pillars before. The only other old pillar she had met was Gabriel, but the first time they had met he was still the school captain. Perhaps Kazuya worked with him before? She never found out who were the other pillars during Gabriel's brief reign, maybe it would be interesting to know.
"So who're the other two Pillars? I think EVERYBODY knows by now that Matrim Gallagher is the current School Captain."
"The Student body president right now is Sara, Matrim's girl." Judging from what little she knew about this guy it was safe to assume he had to know who she was talking about so there was no need to elaborate on Sara's identity. "And the School newsletter pillar is Kevala." Kev was another person that Mitsukai most likely would not have to go into details about for Kazuya to know who she was. Kevala's charming personality and good looks made her one of the popular people in the school. Kevala was the complete opposite of Mitsukai, where Kev was energetic and out going Mitsukai was quiet and reserved. Most people probably didn't know she even existed. Hell the only traits that made her stand out if at all was her small stature and unusual eyes.
By the time she had answered Kazuya's questions they had made it to the nurse's office. "Hang on a second." she said as she stepped inside. After giving the head nurse a quick explanation about what happened the medical staff was sent out to go and fetch the fallen students.
Well looks like my job is done. she thought happily. Now back to what she was trying to do before this whole mess.
"They are going to take it from here." she explained to Kazuya once she returned. "So I am going to head off to the library to drop this book off. Do you want to do something afterwards or do you nave to go?" As much as she'd like to spend more time with him she rather not hold him up if he other plans. It was the end of the day after all, he might have a life and it was best not to get in the way of that.

Yes, Kazuya was a former Pillar, but it wasn't under Gabriel, he had been the Varsity Captain under David Blaze. And if memory served, Gabriel didn't actually take anyone as Pillars, he had been the sole Pillar, the School Captain. Kazuya chuckled quietly under his breath, Sara Quinn was the Student Body President? As in, crazy Sara is crazy? Wow. And Kevala, whom he had met previously and fought against and beaten was the Head of the School Newsletter. Interesting for the two other Pillars. And it was true, Kevala's personality and good looks made her one of the most popular students in the school, Kazuya could attest to that. By the time the Q and A was finished, they had reached the nurse's office, as Kazuya waited outside, leaning against the wall, his arms casually folded across his chest. A couple minutes later, the medical staff rushed past him, heading down the hallway to where the students he had knocked out and burned were.
"I don't have anything planned." He replied as soon as Mitsukai came back. "Meet me on the rooftop after you're done." With that said, Kazuya pushed off the wall, and headed towards the rooftop access. Mitsukai may be the Varsity Captain, and though Kazuya was not out to get her title, what if he had been a student that did? If Mitsukai couldn't adequately defend herself against any and all challenges to her title, she won't hold onto her title for very long. He was going to test her, to see just how well she could defend her title. Reaching the rooftop door, he headed up the stairs, and pushed the door open, and walked across the gravel roof, before coming to a stop near the edge of the roof, a chain link fence running around the entire top of the building, as he waited for her to arrive.

"I don't have anything planned." "Meet me on the rooftop after you're done."
Mitsukai watched him go a bit suspicious of what he was planning. Not like he really was going o try and kill her or anything but he did seem to have something planned. Guess she'll find out soon enough once she got there.
It didn't take the girl long to drop off that book to the library now that there was nothing to distract her. This time she didn't bother to grab a new one. Kazuya was waiting for her and she rather not let him wait any longer. So she made her way over to the roof as soon as possible.
"I'm back." she said, her guard slightly up just in case he did try something. It was better to be safe then sorry.

Kazuya waited patiently for Mitsukai to arrive, once he heard the sound of the rooftop door open and close, he knew she had arrived. He turned his head slightly to look behind him, his hands in his pockets, noticing immediately her guard was up, as he maintained his gaze on her. "Relax," He said, as he turned around fully to face her, "You make it look like I'm some mad axe murderer about to kill you or something." A bit of humor to lighten the mood, but that was about all the humor that would be occurring for now. "You're the current Varsity Captain. People will try to take your title from you, and I have no doubt some have already tried it. But if you can't defend your title, you won't have it for very long. Now I don't know if anyone has succeeded in taking your title from you, but I wouldn't doubt it, seeing as how often Pillar titles have been exchanged, just as fast as people trade lunches. I'm not out to take your title. But I want to see if you can defend your title."
Kazuya then eased himself into his stance, his eyes completely fierce and intense, all confidence gone from his eyes. "Show me what you can do Mitsu. Prepare yourself." And with that, Kazuya would dart straight at Mitsukai, going at full speed. Once he was close enough, he would pull his right arm back and fire a rapid right hook right at her, followed up by him ducking down and sticking his left leg out, would go to sweep her legs out from underneath her. He wasn't going to injure her so badly that she would end up having to be carried to the infirmary, but he wasn't going to hold back either. Her challengers sure as hell won't be holding back, because they wanted something, her title. As for Kazuya? He just wanted to see how good she was. He hoped she wouldn't disappoint him.

"Relax," "You make it look like I'm some mad axe murderer about to kill you or something."
Wow....is it really that noticeable? Of course she didn't think he was going to try something crazy like throw her off the roof. But Mitsukai had always been somewhat cautious, Gabriel could certainly a test for that. It was in her nature, but she certainly didn't mean to offend him in any way.
Once he started to explain himself then she understood what this was about. He wanted to see how good of a fighter she was. His concerns were understandable especially since she was one of the weaker pillars she would no doubt be an easy target for anyone who wanted a title. Sure Matrim could always give it back to her but it didn't mean much if she kept losing it. Ryu had already taken it from her once and she never wanted to go through that ordeal again.
"Show me what you can do Mitsu. Prepare yourself."
With that he charged after her. Right away Mitsukai knew that this would be a challenging fight, Kazuya was a bit faster than she was and for someone whose main advantage was her speed that was no doubt an issue. Of course that would not stop her, she had faced off against worse odds than this during her short time in this school. There was no time to really dodge that move so she had to improvise. Bending down slightly to lessen the strength of the blow she would take the hit but before Kazuya could pull his arm away Mitsukai would make a grab for it. The second she got a hold of his wrist she would pull him forward. Slamming her knee into his stomach in turn and headbutt him. Finishing her move off with a kick to the stomach to knock him backward once she released him. There was more to Kazuya then his speed and she knew that. Thats why she did not hold back, besides he wanted to see how good she was and she would show him exactly how strong she could be.

Kazuya's right hook would connect with Mitsukai, though he saw she had bent down slightly to lessen the strength of his strike. He then felt his wrist being grabbed by her hand, as he was yanked forward, her knee hurtling towards his stomach. His left arm would quickly snap out, as he wrapped his left arm around her leg, he reared his head back and would counter her headbutt with one of his own. He had felt worse than this. His left arm firmly locked around her leg, he would then attempt to wrench his right hand out of her grip, if he succeeded, he would then quickly push her back away from him, releasing her leg, before ducking low once more and in a quick spin, his left leg sticking out, would once more try to sweep Mitsukai's foot from under her.
And since she had been balancing on only one leg, it would be a lot easier to send her off-balance and onto her back. Kazuya would then dart forward if she fell and then straddle her by her core, effectively preventing her from using her legs to try and kick him off. With her legs out of the way, it would allow Kazuya to rain punches down on her, which is what he did. He would fire rapid punches at her, giving her no time to fight back, leaving her with the only option to try and defend herself. Certainly there were students that were much stronger than Kazuya, including, but not limited to; Gabriel, Emily, David, Matrim, Sara, the list goes on. But if Mitsukai couldn't defend herself against Kazuya, then she won't be holding onto her title for very long, even if Matrim were to give it back to her.

Her counter did not go as well as she would have hoped. At first Mitsukai had successfully managed to grab a hold of her opponent, pulling him forward for a kneeing in the gut but as she went in for a headbutt he countered with one of his own. Grabbing a hold of her leg before she could recover.
The blow was enough to loosen her grip on Kazuya's arm. Loose enough that he could wrench himself free and knock her on the ground. She uttered a short curse when she fell to the ground. Now he had pinned her down and she was fucked. Royally fucked, there was no way to get out of this, if she didn't react fast she was screwed.
As he prepared to strike her she drew her arms up to shield herself. Instinctively activating her Qi, her flame blade suddenly appearing on her right arm as his fist came down towards her. Kazuya would definitely suffer a burn on his fist the second it came in contact with her blade assuming of course he had some immunity to burns thanks to his own Qi even if it was not activated. Either way she had managed to momentarily block his assault.
Taking advantage of the moment that Kazuya would be distracted She would try to slam her blade Lillium into him, hopefully whacking him off of her so she could break free. If he did indeed get off of her she would get back on her feet, charging after him to slash at him cross from his stomach. Luckily for him the blade was not sharp so she could not really cut him, but it would definitely burn him. If he did not get off of her the first time Mitsukai would use her blade as a club, whacking at him repeatedly just to get him off. She was not too happy to be using her Qi right now, the only time she had ever used it was during training before it transformed into its current state or the few times when her opponent summoned it first. She did not want to permanently scar the man but she was not left with much options. Besides she decided not to hold back, she would have to use all that she had at her disposal if she really had any hope of coming out in at least a draw.
