It was a nice day for Mathew, he was getting in the groove of his college classes, he was feeling more relaxed about being out and about and was starting to get used to having to do things the hard way when it came to gathering information. It was like when he first moved out here all those years ago, only now he was older and his money had matured while he was locked away, giving him more resources in a way.
Currently he was sitting in the shared courtyard between the schools, sitting against Leon's clock tower as he would claim it. Though Mathew paid very little heed to things like that. Leon sure as hell didn't scare Mathew, never had and never would. To Mathew Leon would always be the pizza loving goof who went on wild adventures with him, and had a strange phobia for crabs.
He smiled to himself, Leon for all his power deathly afraid of a small crab, swearing that it was out to get him. As if a crab could be out to get someone. He always did come up with the craziest things.
Mathew just shook his head dismissing the thoughts of Leon from his head as he reached in to the paper sack that sat next to him. He opted to bring a lunch today rather than blow the money on the crap they sold at school. Nothing fancy just a peanut butter and honey sandwich with a box of orange juice. He decided against buying a crazy straw and just used the flimsy plastic one the boxes came with, and finally a strawberry yogurt and a plastic spoon. Something to go after the sandwich.
It was a change from Mathew's old habits of pizzas and burgers every day. But he was a different person, at least in some ways. He didn't have any plans to rule the world as of now, he wasn't involved in gangs. His desire to get information was to inform himself of the current situation in the city, if he chose to do anything about it then that would be decided later, but for now he just wanted to gather information and wait. Wait and see what he would decide to do.

Another night with out sleep. It was beginning to effect him. He was hot headed, more so than usual. He was unable to keep up his good student facade, he was out of sorts. He needed one of two things, a fuck that was similar to his sister or a major distraction. A distraction, was the easiest it just meant attacking someone... that was always easy. Now here was a prime suspect, juice box in hand standing by the clock tower. He was the target.
Pulling the gloves out of his back pockets, he placed them on, the leather groaning as it stretched over his hands. Ah that was a sound that meant one thing. It was time to cause some pain. He scooped up a rock, a medium sized one and took aim. That juice box was as good as gone. His plain black shirt over denim jeans were bland and not outstanding. His glasses over brown eyes. Not amazing. He was the average Joe. In all senses. He slammed his bright pink chuck taylor's down as he released the stone. Aiming, and normally his aim was true, at the juice box. It would either spurt out or fall down. He was hoping for the first. He would follow it up with what, in his obviously tired state was a witty comment.
"So bud... wanna play?"
He was being arrogant for no reason what so ever. He did not even have anything to back himself up with. Not good. But he needed a nap, so bad! With a quick smirk he rushed in, his left foot sliding forward as he closed the distance. The dirt kicking up as he twisted his body throwing his right fist directly at the man's head. It was not a cheap shot. It was right in front. The dead smile was still on his face.

Trouble just always seemed to follow Mathew wherever he went it seemed. Here he was minding his own business in the courtyard, eating his lunch in peace, not causing any trouble, and trouble comes to him. Some kid decided he was going to be a tough guy and throw a rock at Mathew, hitting his innocent juice box, making it sputter out juice as it fell to the ground. This brought an annoyed frown to Mathew's face as the student then gave him the same cocky tone he heard oh so often. Hell he practically trademarked it.
Mathew stood up and gave the kid a glare that asked if he was shitting Mathew or not. It just went to show that some things just didn't change, but what did change was that Mathew seemed to be an unknown again. He could tell this was going to get annoying, when he had his fear bubble people didn't fuck with him like that.
Mathew was an expert when it came to combat and his eyes had no problem following the kid as he launched his attack at Mathew. Mathew, not being in the mood to have a long drawn out battle with this kid so he would act in a simple and efficient manner.
As the kid's right arm extended toward him Mathew was already pivoting to his left, his right arm grabbing the kid's wrist to keep it extended as his left palm slammed in to the kid's elbow. He would likely hear a sickening crack as the boy's arm broke, which he would twist and shift behind the boy to try and get him to his knees where he would be unable to fight.
And to think today I was just going to be peaceful, why does that never work out for me? He thought to himself.
"Give up yet kid?" He asked with a sigh.

Ow?! It was so quick that the pain did not register at first. Just the sheer fact that he was on the ground. Okay this guy was no joke. Then all at once his arm sent a burning, painful sensation. The guy looked down at him. Now that just pissed him off. These lowly cunts looking down on him. Fucking bastards! But the pain in his right arm was telling him, don't do it. Be smart, for once be smart about it. "Give up yet kid?". That was it.
"Like hell!"
He slammed his good hand on the ground, he would bring this guy to one knee at least before passing out. With his good hand on the ground he rotated his body with his knee and that hand. Kicking his leg at the back of the guys knee. One knee was all he needed. With that some movement he would push himself up off the ground and skip a couple of paces back. Arrogant fuck who does he think he is.

Mathew honestly wasn't expecting the kid to put up a fight after he was on the ground. He didn't think anyone would be that stupid. With one move Mathew broke the kid's arm, he thought him beat. But the kid seemed to have other plans. He felt the kid's leg connect against the back of his knee, and while it didn't hurt the unexpectedness of it caused his knee to buckle. He dropped to a knee and let go of the kid's broken useless arm. He let out a laugh as he picked himself up, the kid now a couple of paces back.
"That's gutsy kid. Caught me off guard there. Stupid though because now I have to hit you again." He said with a bit of a cheerful chuckle.
This time Mathew would come to the kid, his left arm covering his face while his right arm was down by his ribs. He would come in with a quick low kick with his right leg to the ankle of the kid's right leg, his goal was to knock the kid back down on his ass, keep him on the ground where he belonged.

He had no defense with one arm gone. He was severely outmatched but he knew what to do. This guy's overwhelming aura made him shudder, it made him sick to think there were people better than him. The guy himself seemed to take this as a joke though which just infuriated him even more. Son of a bitch. He took a deep breath as the guy got to his feet. This was gonna hurt him. The guy rushed in... his stomach exposed. As he came in Jay knew he was quick. So all he could do was use his speed against him. He stepped forward and launched into a horizontal drop kick with both feet. Aimed at the midsection. He half turned so his good left arm was towards the ground.
His life slowly flashed before his eyes. Doom set in around him. This was gonna hurt no matter how it ended up.
"FUCK! YOU!"
Would be the only sound he would hear before the inevitable conclusion of this move. He was pretty sure he would not get up either way.

The kid had spirit, in a way Mathew had to admire that. It took a lot of balls to keep fighting when you were so clearly outmatched. It took a lot of balls and a lot of blind stubbornness. Though that was a trait Mathew could hardly fault the boy. However, if the boy was expecting his attack to catch Mathew off guard this time he was sorely mistaken. Mathew would allow the blow to hit, as he was normally the kind of fighter to trade blows rather than duck and weave every chance he had. However he was certain that the kid would be surprised to see Mathew virtually unphased by the kick.
The blow would land where the kid hoped it would, but instead of Mathew gasping for air in shocked surprise his right arm which was down by his chest would grab one of the kid's legs and then Mathew would start to spin. Building momentum with each rotation until Mathew would release, sending the kid flying right in to the clock tower that Mathew had been eating lunch at only moments before. He wasn't sure if the kid would be able to get up after that, but he was going to give him another chance to throw in the towel before Mathew struck again.
"You sure you want to keep doing this kid? You are only hurting yourself ya know." He said with a frown, relaxing his stance a little bit, sure that the kid was done fighting.

Jay was surprised, and not so surprised when he made contact. Then all of a sudden he was caught, spinning go around and around and around and oh god was he dizzy. Then when he was released, the brief feeling of freedom, that came from flight was shattered, like his body on the brick wall of the clock tower. He instantly coughed up blood, ow fucking cunt. He dropped in a slump on the ground, shattered right arm, winded and in serious pain. The older male stood over him. Still looking down at him. BASTARD! He ground his teeth together as he forced himself to his feet. Slowly, painfully to his feet.
"I am still standing....aint I?"
By all means, he should be giving in. But no. He was still awake. He raised his left arm, as if to go for a punch, but instead as he stepped into it his legs gave way and he fell face first into the ground. He was awake but could not move. His eyes looked up at the man, filled with anger, not at the man just himself. FUCK!!
"So...what...now?"

Mathew had to resist the urge to laugh when the kid fell down. He could admire the spirit, that took a lot of guts. But the kid was outmatched from the start. He had the misfortune of messing with the wrong guy. It would be a shame to finish him off here and now, even if the guy did ruin his lunch be wasting his juice, thus making the feat of enjoying his sandwich insurmountable. He had a better idea for the kid. He approached where the kid lay sprawled on the ground and dropped down to one knee to get closer to him. He wasn't worried that the kid was going to try and hit him. If he did he would only be making his life more difficult. Beside, Mathew was going to offer the kid a deal.
"Listen kid. You got gut's I will grant you that. But you need to know when you are beat." He said offering the kid a comforting smile. As much as a reputation Mathew had for being a ruthless monster, he could turn on the charm when he wanted too.
"I admire the spirit though and I want to make you a deal, if that is alright with you. I am just now getting back in town after a long absence and I like to know what is going on. So I am going to give you $20 and a number. And if you hear or see anything interesting going on let me know. If you give me good intel we can talk about giving you more money." He said reaching in to his pocket and pulling out a twenty and a piece of paper.
Taking another moment to dig in his coat pocket and pull out a pen he jotted down his number on it and would drop both the number and the money in front of the kid.
"This money is good faith money, you can take it and leave if you want, but I pay well and it's just passing along what you see. However if I find out you gave out my number or giving me false information on purpose I will make your life hell. Do we have a deal?" He asked the kid with a serious tone.

Using his good shoulder and a serious amount of will power which he thought he had lost he rolled onto his back. Half of his face covered in dust, his clothes covered. It was a miserable little sight. His eyes looked at the man, closely studying him. This was a unique opportunity to ally himself with someone seemingly powerful. If only as an informant. He spoke up.
"Two questions!... One... what kind... of... information...peaks...your interest?..."
That was an obvious question if it was something easy he would do no problem. If it sounded exciting he was all ears, and eyes. But he had to know what to look for. He gave a small cough his breath coming back to him slowly. But it was still coming back.
"Second!... Whats the name... of my new boss?"
In other words, yes! He would do it. He knew enough to sneak around to get around and he was a low key kind of guy so hearing rumours was a piece of piss, so to speak. His right arm throbbed, it was killing him. He probably had severely bruised ribs from that throw so that was also impeding his ability to breath clearly at the time. He was royally screwed. Good feeling, he may be able to sleep after all.

A small smile pulled at the corners of Mathew's lips. An informant would be good to have, information was power and he wanted all that he could grab. Oh sure the school didn't mean much to him, but he knew more than most that the system pumped out fighters. Fighters like Mathew and he would be a fool to ignore something that could someday create something to bite him in the ass.
"Anything of interest. I want to know about the movement and formation of gangs. Events, exceptionally powerful fighters. Anything that may or may not bite me in the ass, I leave it up to you to decide what is and is not useful to me."
He said watching the kid, seeing how he dealt with the pain and defeat. He might even be of use to Mathew outside of being an informant. A potential recruit even. Something that he would have to think on. But the kid would probably become strong, if properly trained and motivated at least.
"As for your boss's name. It's Mathew, Mathew Amtrum." He said. "And I will be watching and waiting. Don't let me down kid." He said before turning away to walk away. He had other things to attend to.
