"I don't know what to do with you..."
Leta sat on the bed in her room with the door shut, listening to the pitter-pats of the puppy's paws scampering around.
Upon sitting in her usual spot in the park, listening to the usual sounds, a new sound emerged. The whimpering of a puppy. Clumsily, it stumbled into her leg and sat down beside her. She could feel it's warm plump little body breathing heavily against her. She gingerly picked it up, and felt it's legs and belly for any wounds. When she found he was unharmed, she deduced he was probably just scared and abandoned. She had brought along a wool-knit hat, because it was colder than usual. She made a little nest with it in her lap, and snugly tucked him in. She then walked home, and took him in her room, going unnoticed by Eve or Emma.
And here she was, listening to the now happy puppy, wondering what she had gotten herself into. Her roommates would not settle with having a dog in the house, but Leta had a soft spot for them. So she's hiding this one for a while.
She fed him and gave him a bath before letting him run amuck in her room.
"Perhaps a walk. You seem a little anxious, puppy. Maybe you need a bathroom."
Leta found a smallish rope in the garage and made a make-shift leash, then adorned it on the puppy.
"Just until I get a real one."
She then proceeded to take the excited puppy down her neighborhood street.

Sebastian stumbled down the street. He wanted to see Leta, he hadn't heard from her since the sky boy and the ghost lady had attacked them. He wasn't entirely sure how he had escaped, something about explosions. He hadn't payed much attention, his brain felt like mush after that many infomercials. He supposed that those were the reason that the girl he had been kidnapped with was allowed to not be tied up. She must have been there for years or something, cause she didn't even seem to care about leaving. The very first thing sebastian had done when he got out was go home. It had moved and the area surrounding it was scorched black and crumbly. He didn't have a clue where Uncle had moved the house to. He figured he could find out later though. He went to Leta, maybe she could tell him why so many buildings had disappeared. She was walking down the street towards him. She had something... He flung his hands over his mouth clasped them tight and made little squeaks as he tried to hold in the delighted scream that would inevitably scare away the puppy. After calming himself he started walking with a huge bounce in every stride. "Hello Leta. May I play with puppy?" He dropped to the floor not waiting for an answer and laid upon his back mimicking a puppy in his own way with his feet and hands curled in the air. Letting the puppy sniff him and get used to him. Sebastian really wanted the puppy to like him. "I like you puppy. Do you have a name?"

The odds that Sebastian would happen to be in the area were slim to none, but here he was on the ground playing with her puppy.
It was nice hearing from him, again. The last time their paths had crossed, they were attacked by a demon and her dogs. Sebastian had gotten severely injured. Leta now had a scar on her neck and below her eye. Where had he been all this time? In a hole? She wondered how he survived the war going on. All Leta had been doing is laying low; she was trying to hide from any possible crossfire. Now that it seemed the guns had quieted, it seemed ok to go outside.
She recognized his steps as he approached--he usually had a jump in his stride, as he was almost always happy. A small smile found it's way to her visage as she listened to his repressed squeals.
"Hello, Leta. May I play with puppy?"
Although her response was, "Of course." she was certain he didn't hear her. He immediately dropped to the floor and began to play.
This is almost too perfect...
"I like you, puppy. Do you have a name?"
"You know, Sebastian.. Would you like puppy?"

"You know, Sebastian.. Would you like puppy?" Sebastian grew very serious. His face had become determined. He was focussed more now than ever. He was looking at her with intent. ".............Yes." He reverted back o playing with the puppy. His face lighting up whenever the puppy reared its floppy head. "I will keep him the safest of all the puppies" He began to lay stock still as he said this letting the puppy work its way all around his body like he was a jungle gym tailor made for a very clumsy, disproportionate boy that was easily excitable. "I was kidnapped, and I don't remember being let free." He thought for a second "Did you free me?" He picked up the puppy with both hands and sat up before setting it in his lap.

His voice took a serious tone. It was almost shocking how quickly he went from squealing like a baby pig to expressing a serious want to protect a new friend. It said a lot about his character, though. When faced with a decision involving a friend, he would probably be willing to go through great lengths to achieve his goal in their friendship. Leta smiled. Nice boy. Both Sebastian and the puppy deserved each other as companions. It would be a fitting Christmas present for him.
Leta felt the rope being tugged in different directions as the puppy continued to explore Sebastian.
"I was kidnapped, and I don't remember being let free. Did you free me?"
She was pulled away with her warm thoughts, and was greeted with this chilling question. Kidnapped? By whom? Free him rfom where?
"There have been explosions lately. Maybe one his you where you were and you escaped," Leta thought more rationally, "Or perhaps being kidnapped was just a dream." She paused. "Who kidnapped you?"
She would listen to Sebbastian's answer, should he give one.

Sebastian said to the dog. "Hey, lets see if you like heights puppy." The puppy conceded as Sebastian curled his fingers around its fragile squirmy little body. Still lying on his back Sebastian stuck his arms straight out in front of him. The puppy was about four and a half feet in the air now and was happy as a content puppy. "Very good puppy" Sebastian beamed. Both of his missing teeth were exposed. Sebastian started getting up to further his height test. "Who kidnapped you?" the question washed over him like a heavy lolling wave. "I don't know" Sebastian shrugged, "but whoever it was also had that girl who fixed my leg. I don't really remember much though, he had us watching infomercials on loop and that kinda messed me up." The word "explosions" finally got to him. Explosions blew things up. And when things are blown up they are made into smaller pieces. When things are smaller they are harder to see. If you can't find something can you rightly say it exists? His attention was brought back to the puppy which he lifted ceremoniously unto his skull. "Well puppy, on my head you are at about six feet. Are you ready to go higher?" But the puppy would not respond; it was a puppy. So Sebastian carefully raised the puppy up, it was having a blast, he loved the wind and the newfound vantage point. If you don't see something it does not exist. If something does not exist it is likely to have been blown up. Sebastian's face fell faster than a feather neatly tied to a rock being thrown off a boat. "I think my house blew up. I can't give this little guy a home if I don't have one myself." Sebastian began to feel very bad indeed. He brought the puppy down.

"Hey, lets see if you like heights puppy."
Heights? What's he doing?
Leta promptly felt a slight pull upwards on the rope she was holding. She closed her eyes and prayed he wouldn't drop the puppy.
Sebastian went on about how he was trapped and forced to watch infomercials. Weird.
Sebastian's house blew up. What do?
"Move in with me."

“What? Yes, of course.” Puppy waggled. He waggled as hard as he could. Sebastian was sure his uncle would not care too much. Besides he could simply ask him the next time Sebastian saw him.
