When it comes to Items the system is fairly simple items are assigned slots and possibly abilities should you be so lucky. You have 8 slots in which to place items.

There are a few kinds of items to go over here.
Base Items - These are the items that fill the item slots, they are given through rewards from events and the like, or crafted. They generally have one Add-On slot or none at all. Commonly don't have powers, but it is possible.
Boss Items - These items are powerful pieces of equipment from a Boss Battle. They are generally high level items near the top of what a a player can craft with powers and two to three add on slots.
Raid Items - These items are immensely powerful and are even stronger than what is craft-able, always have three add-on slots and a very strong Super Qi equivalent power.
Add-On's - These items can be placed in Add-On slots in an item, however it is permanent unless you are a level 5 Crafter.
Crafting
Every character is capable of crafting using materials found or created through dismantling. Materials are the base component for creating Base items or Add-on's. Each material and add on type has it's own possible power effects if you are a high enough level crafter to make powers for an item. The materials and type's are as follows.
Base Material Components
Wood - Elemental control or attacks
Metal - Stat Buff
Cloth - Senses/Qi Buff
Crystal - Qi effects/Abilities
Add-On Type's
Inlay - Under the surface protection, mystical effects
Weave - Base Coverings stat buffing and upgrades
Handle - Atk, Spd, Per buffing
Wrap - Control over item, Def, Eng buff
Screw - Atk, Qi effect buff
Gem - Elemental
Case/Holster/Cover - Ability charging, one time per drawing great damage boost.
Choosing a Base Material Component is important for what the item will be or become over time. By creating a Base Item you gain half a level up for your Crafter skill, you can also level up by creating four Add-On items. The levels of Crafter and what they are capable of are as follows:
Crafter Level 1 can make an item with only the possibility of a +1 to +2.
Crafter Level 2 can make an item with the possibility of +1 to +3 and can make one Add-On slot on an item.
Crafter Level 3 can make an item with the possibility of +2 to +5
Crafter Level 4 can make an item with the possibility of +3 to +6 and can make Add-On's with the possibility of +1 to +2
Crafter Level 5 can make an item with the possibility of +5 to +7 can make a second Add-On Slot on an item, and Upgrade any items that are weaker than what they can make as long as the Base Material Components are the same for the upgrade.
Crafter Level 6 can make an item with the possibility of +5 to +9 and can make items with Powers
Crafter Level 7 can make an item with the possibility of +6 to +10 and can make an Add on with the possibility of +3 to +4
Crafter Level 8 can make an item with the possibility of +8 to +11 and can make a third Add-On slot
Crafter Level 9 can make an item with the possibility of +9 to +13
Crafter Level 10 can make an item with the possibility of +10 to +15 can make Add-On's with the possibility of +5 to +8 and make them with a power
Crafter Level 11 can make an item with the possibility of +11 to +15
Crafter Level 12 can make an item with the possibility of +12 to +15 and can make an Add-On with the possibility of +7 to +8
Crafter Level 13 can make an item with the possibility of +13 to +15
Crafter Level 14 can make an item with the possibility of +14 to +15 and can make Add-On with the possibility of a +8 to +9
Crafter Level 15 can make an item with the possibility of +18 can make Add-On's with the possibility of +10, and can make max level powers for base item and Add-On's
Once you gain something from a level of Crafter it adds to any previous unlocks. So at level 8 you can do everything lower levels can do at your current level.
To create an item you must purchase the base material and decide to figure out what stats your item will have you must roll it using RPBot in the discord server, or using the dice roll plug-in in your actual item purchase thread.
It is possible to dismantle old items or items you have gained from an event/assignment or what have you. Dismantling can get you base materials and add-on types, or even give out rare materials or other rewards.
