Where were they?
"Si--" Bailey gagged on the name as Alex turned and suddenly pummeled his fist into her gut, knocking the air out of her and causing the sparks of stars to appear again, dotting her vision. She struggled for breath as the edges of her vision went dark. After the fights and multiple qi uses, plus her own injuries, there was no stopping it.
"No," she whimpered, knees giving out. The little blonde crashed to the ground, still crying to call out their name with no air in her lungs.
And then, for mercy or otherwise, the world went dark.

Once the baby was in his grasp he would shift to support her with one arm as he swiftly drew one of the daggers that he'd slam into the Mother's neck. Twisting his body as he spun to rip out her throat and stab it into the other Experiment. It was time to finish this, something that should have been finished years ago.
"I will make it painless. You can not help what you are. I choose to be what I am, you are robbed of that choice."
It was a mercy. It was with a heavy heart that he would personally move through the camp, killing as many of them as he could. The blood on his hands had long ago become more than could ever be washed off. The greatest kindness he could offer to these people was to keep their hands clean, and the kindness he could offer the experiments was to make their death painless and merciful.
He'd do this because it had to be done. These people were a threat. And yet, for some reason rather than bashing the infant's head on the ground, crushing its skull underfoot, he kept it cradled in his arms as he slaughtered her people. She was born a monster, but she was young enough that there may still be hope for her.
