[Gunslinger]

Daniel snorts.

"You think I stand out?"

[Novocaine]

"You do when you start shooting." she'd grin.

[Gunslinger]

"Yeah, well, I don't usually get a chance to do that in more important settings."

He shrugs, grumbling a bit.

[Novocaine]

"Sounds like we need to find some action when we head back." Nova would shrug, though she whole-heartedly agreed. Short of the FOB mission, there hadn't been too many opportunities for combat.

Other than somewhat childish ones.

[Gunslinger]

"I'm sure we will."

He nods.

"There's usually some kind of-"

The front door is slammed open as both Jack and Absinthe Makaila storm in, in the midst of a conversation.

"He's supposed to be dead."

"You know it's not that simple, Jack."

"Yeah, well, we can't let him near the house no matter what. We need to call Wysteria back from the academy, and Junior from his assignment. We can't risk him running into them."

Daniel turns to look at Nova, confusion plain on his face.

[Novocaine]

Her ears twist sideways at that, and she looks back at Daniel before quickly signalling for him to come along with her head.

Nova would follow where the voices were, stopping when she found Daniel's parents.

"What's going on?"

[Gunslinger]

Daniel follows, and they find Absinthe on a communication device, presumably following through with the aforementioned plans.

Jack turns to look at them, frowning.

"The two of you are going to be staying here for a few days. I'll tell your parents, Nova, so that they aren't worried about you."

[Novocaine]

"Who's supposed to be dead?" she'd ask, crossing her arms and cocking her hip.

Blunt as usual.

[Gunslinger]

Jack stares at her.

Then up at her ears.

Then back to her face.

He gives a long sigh through his nose.

"You and Daniel should sit down."

[Novocaine]

She's already prepared to get a lot of looks like that for a while from the people she knows.

And then forever from people she doesn't.

Nova takes the advice and goes have a seat on the couch, keeping her arms crossed.

[Gunslinger]

Daniel sits down next to her.

Jack stays standing.

"I don't know the best way to put this... but Daniel, you have a brother."

Daniel just looks up at him, unimpressed, before Jack sighs again.

"...an older brother. One from when I first met your mother. He was born a short time before the three of you were, but he had... an issue."

[Novocaine]

Nova would blink in surprise.

"Something that couldn't be fixed, then?"

[Gunslinger]

Daniel is awestruck at this news, while Jack continues.

"No. He broke free of his programming and left. Several times he has attacked Reclaimers and soldiers, and has targeted our family, though he has been unsuccessful at getting close."

[Novocaine]

"Shameful." she'd grimace.

"I guess he knows there's no where to run or hide so he's trying to cut down anyone who'd go after him?"

Or was she giving him too much credit?

[Gunslinger]

"Possibly. He will say anything in order to gain an advantage."

He points at Daniel, who seemingly snaps out of his daze.

"Don't. Go. Near. Him. Understand?"

Daniel frowns.

"But I can take care of my-"

"No. Don't you dare."

Jack says firmly.
