Awake

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

Rai couldn't help but bust into laughter at that.

"My oh my... you sure are one of a kind. Miss?"

[Gidget]

She just stared at him, unable to tell if he was trying to ask her a question, or figure out her name. She kept her arms crossed, and sat there on her hospital bed.

"Right, Kid it is."

He stood up and paced for a few moments before stopping, facing away from Gidget.

"I would like for you, to take a moment and look at this situation from my perspective."

He passed.

"And tell me, what would you do in position?"

[Gidget]

"How many times do I have to tell you?! I am NOT A KID!" she said, breaking her petty vow of silence pretty quickly. Her hands balled into little fists. "I'm an ADULT. I live ON MY OWN. I pay my OWN WAY. I am not a freaking KID!"

She huffed, turning her face away from him, as she actually contemplated what he said. She gave a fierce shake of her head.

"I have no way of knowing. Never been in your position." She shrugged.

"Hmmm... fair enough. An impressive answer in of itself. One that shows wisdom."

He would turn towards her now.

"I have no want nor interest to kill you, but arrogance gets under my skin. Something, it appears, we both have in common."

He chuckled.

"Listen, I only ask about your scar because if it has something to do with why you passed out then my facility here is more than equipped to help."

[Gidget]

She quickly shook her head.

"Don't... worry about it. I'm fine. It's nothing, really. I probably just passed out because I don't eat shit and I haven't slept in...." Her brows furrowed, and she glanced down at her hands, trying to figure out when the last time she actually slept - like, SLEPT slept - was.

"Uh. Since before the attack, actually. Like... a day or two? I don't remember." She shrugged. Obviously, it was pretty normal for her.

Rai wasn't sure if he trusted her answer... but pressing wasn't going to get them anywhere. So he just sighed.

"Very well. Last question and we are done here. Do you, or will you, have any ill intentions towards me or my company."

[Gidget]

"Uh. The honest answer?"

Gidget squirmed a bit uncomfortably, and then gave a little shrug.

"Look. I have no personal bias against you guys, except the fact that you moved a bunch of fucking people into my home. But I... I'm kind of an online mercenary? Like, if somebody pays me big bucks to get them the blueprints of your facility, and I do mean BIG BUCKS... I'm not really in a position to say no."

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

"Fair enough. In that case how much to become a client?"

He asked sincerely.

[Gidget]

She cocked a brow and narrowed her eyes.

"A... client. What are you trying to get? I charge different rates, depending on what people want."

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

"Well, as you demonstrated we have pretty lax security, so how much will it cost to make it nigh impenetrable? And then say... a monthly allowance for you to check it at least once a month to ensure its all running smoothly and to update it as needed. And lastly a bonus any time there is an emergency where your skills will be required."

[Gidget]

"So you're asking me to set you up a security system, maintain it, and be on call?"

She cocked a brow. The first two were pretty easy, but the on-call bit was going to be pretty pricey. In fact, most of her stuff was pricey, but having her at somebody's beck and call was going to be even more pricey.

"And what if somebody hires me to break into the system? Are you going to pay me to prevent that, too?"

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

He smiled.

"Precisely."

[Gidget]

Gidget stared at him for a moment and leaned back, tapping her fingers lightly on her arm. She gave him a separate sum for each of the services: the security, the maintenance, the on-call, and keeping her from breaking in to her own network. Then, she gave him a total sum.

"It would take me twenty-four hours to set up the security system, and I'd check on it weekly to ensure it is still up and running properly. I'd also update it periodically, change your IP addresses five times every second, scramble your passwords every ten seconds, and keep it all up to date with the latest security as it comes out, so long as you continue paying me every month. You'd have access to my personal e-mail and cell phone number for any emergencies... and the last fund ensures that I quote-un-quote fight my own system any time somebody pays me to try to hack into it. If you want me to give you the information of the person who tries to hire me, that'll be an extra fee every time."

She yawned, reaching up to cover it with the back of her hand.

"Make that thirty hours. I need a little bit of sleep before I set up the security. I can put a quick one in place until I can get to it, but I'll have the actual program written up in thirty hours."

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

"Acceptable, and the offer for the counter information is even more appreciative, I wasn't going to ask, as that is taboo amongst most Mercenary groups. But, should the time ever arise the extra payout wouldn't be a problem."

He held out his hand for a handshake.
