Have Yourself... (DJ/Shiloh)

[Shiloh]

Shiloh's home was a small, two floor townhouse, filled with beautiful photographs all framed along the walls. Her living room was mostly bare, aside from a small leather loveseat that simply screamed Adelaide, and a couple of throw pillows and blankets. She didn't seem to mind as she led the way in, smiling brilliantly from ear to ear.

"In here!" She cooed, setting all the gift bags down on the bare wooden floor of the living room. "Make yourself comfortable! There's a bathroom around the corner if you need it. Let me just..." She wandered over to a small, Harry Potter style closet, and grabbed a few different rolls of wrapping paper, two pairs of scissors, and enough tape to put the Great Wall of China back together, should it ever fall apart.

She dropped her hoard of gift wrapping instruments on the floor and flopped down, leaning her back against the couch and smiling.

"Home sweet home!"

Shiloh's home was lovely. A small but beautiful apartment covered in photo's and cute furniture. Dj would set his bags next to Shiloh's. As she would drop her stuff, he would say "Sweet indeed, now... what do we do first?" He would say listening attentively.

[Shiloh]

"So, first, we have to separate all the things into individual packages. There are fuzzy socks in that bag, and fuzzy throw blankets in this one. I've also got little cellphones for everyone. Nothing fancy, but at least its something. And, of course... their ornaments. I have a list on my phone of how many people."

She pulled out her phone to find the list, and set it on the floor between herself and DJ. Then, she began to pull the blankets out. She folded them, and then set them on the ground.

"So, each blanket will get a phone and a pair of socks!"

Dj would nod and point along as the process was told to him. He would very quickly start separating all of the gifts into neat piles, folded nicely. Tags off, and done where all 3 aspects of the gift are easily visible. Making sure he looked to Shiloh for approval along the way.

[Shiloh]

She was grinning nearly from ear to ear, helping DJ with everything. It didn't take nearly as long with two people working on it.

"Next... is the Christmas ornaments. They're all very unique, but unfortunately, I don't know everybody so I can't pick out which one goes to who. But..."

She grabbed the bag carefully and brought it over. She pulled out a random one: a beautiful, glittering, golden star, with "Merry Christmas" and the year written on it. She showed it to DJ, and then placed it on a random pile. "The more feminine ones will probably go to the people with pink socks. They might not be really feminine people, but... I hope they like it, anyway."

[Djoser Aneksi]

"It is the best one can assume!" He'd say and start carefully placing ornaments on each one of the piles.

"You wanna play one of those Christmas songs you talked about? Music makes work fun!" He'd say with a playful chuckle.

[Shiloh]

"Oh! Oh yeah. I forgot!"

Shiloh jumped up and hurried to the kitchen. She had a little radio on her counter top, and she spent a minute searching for the right station. When she finally found it, Let It Snow filled the air. She smiled and began to sing quietly under her breath. She loved this song.

Since she was up, anyway, she went and grabbed the boxes. They were all broken down, but it was still awkward for her to carry them all.

"Okay. So now we have to build these boxes. Its simple." She plopped down, grabbed a box, and began to build it and tape it back together.

[Djoser Aneksi]

"Dj would vibe out as he watched Shiloh contruct the box. He would start constructing his own box. At first he would go slow, but he would gradually get faster, humming along to the songs playing.

"This is actually pretty relaxing."

[Shiloh]

She nodded and giggled. "Just wait until we get to the wrapping. Its actually kinda difficult, and I'm not super good at it. But thats okay!"

As soon as they had most of the boxes done, she would begin to put the pile of gifts into their boxes, singing along with the songs. She had a soft, trilling voice, and even though she wasn't a great singer, she obviously enjoyed doing it. It seemed as if she knew every Christmas song that came on the radio.

"So, if you don't celebrate Christmas... do you have a different holiday you celebrate around this time of the year?"

[Djoser Aneksi]

"Yeah, I can only imagine." He'd say with a chuckle. He knew that if Shiloh thought it was hard, than it probably would be.

He would listen to her singing along. It may not have been the best ever, but it was soothing and pleasant. So much so he almost missed the question.

"Oh uh... I used to. This in the Egyptian calender would be the first month. There would be 5 huuuge festivals. 1 on the 1st, one on the 20th, 2 on the 29th, and the last on the 30th. They are all loads of fun, and celebrated as a community. I try to keep the tradition alive by recognizing them and having wrote down all the traditions, but you can't do a community celebration as one person." He'd say both fondly and solemnly. Clearly missing it but not letting it interfere with his joy.

[Shiloh]

"Well, I guess it's probably too late to do the first few, but the last three... We could do something, to keep your traditions alive, too?"

She smiled, tilting her head to one side.

"If it's a community celebration... It might not be the biggest community, but I'll go. And I'm sure that Adel will go, if I ask her to. Maybe we can ask a couple of other people, too."

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would giggle a bit. Not rudely, but with a playful essence to it instead. He would speak with a curious grin and coy voice.

"People will still be recovering from Christmas, but if you really would like to, I could throw a New Year party my style."

[Shiloh]

Shiloh nodded, smiling brilliantly. "Of course! Absolutely. I'll help you with whatever you'd like. We can make it as big or as small as you want, okay?"

She looked around her little townhouse. "We could even hold it here?"

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would smile a little wider and say. "Sounds nice. I'll get to be the one showing you how to celebrate then!" He'd say with a wry smile.

[Shiloh]

She nodded, and pulled free the wrapping paper. Laying it flat, with the pretty design down, she moved the box to try and center it as best she could.

"I would love to learn more about your culture, DJ. I've never really read that much, and I don't know how much, if any, really translates through worlds. You know?"
