3 Day's Later (Drake)

[Djoser Aneksi]

"My mom was a primadonna of a theatre of dancers who happened to be a very powerful group of qi users. On my 4th birthday she murdered my dad to be with a richer man. After she couldn't bring herself to use her powers on me she killed herself. I had no other family and the theatre decided they would keep me."

He would smile and take a seat beside Drake. The Cocoa tasted rich and went down the throat smooth as silk.

[Drake]

"Damn man... So, what were you doing before the end of our world and coming here? Did you ever escape that life or where you lucky to escape when you came to this world?"

[Djoser Aneksi]

"Our head mistress managed to negotiate a spot to the best dancer." He would say with a playful grin.

"All protests that arose were shut up when it was revealed I was the last known living member of my race and that I was living in abusive conditions. So it was half luck, half skill." He'd say with a sip.

"How did you get out?"

[Drake]

"My eyes.

He would say pointing at his black and gold eyes.

"When my powers activated my mother saw my eyes she beat me and threw me out... Said she didn't want to see my evil eyes. I would later discover it's because my eyes reminded her of my father. Luckily my Uncle Spike was there, he took me to his father, Leon. He helped me to decide a new path. Then my father sent out a goon squad to collect me and take me to him."

"Interesting. We also both have powers rooted in our eyes." He'd say, staring fondly into Drake's eyes.

"There is something so fascinating about this horrid situation. Your family must have had so much power in the old world."

He would stare off curiously before saying "But we are here now. Free to build our own hot, amazing lives." He'd say with his usual playful grin.

[Drake]

He chuckled.

"Power... that was definitely something my family had. My mother had power but it was only strong enough for her to keep claim over a whore house. Which honestly she just held because she wanted to abuse her power on those weaker than her. My father, was The Blood Dragon, The Crimson King, ruler of Territory 235. So, I wasn't joking earlier when I said that I was a Prince."

He shrugged.

"But yes, here we are now..."

However he didn't sound as happy about it...

Dj would lift an eyebrow curiously. He initially had another flirty zinger for Drake, but was stopped cold by his strange drop in mood. He had mentioned before he hated his parents... so why did he seem so unhappy about the new world?

"You almost sound like you miss it." Was all he'd say. His warm smile remaining as he waited, seeing how Drake would respond to the observation.

[Drake]

He would stay silent drinking his cocoa for a moment before speaking.

"All I've ever known, since birth, was fighting. Fighting tooth and fucking nail to survive... And I did. I survived my mother's abuse, I survived my fathers Insanity, I survived the world Brutality, and I even survived not one but Two would being destroyed..."

He would turn to face DJ.

"Here... there is no fight. No... worthy goal. Just... normal lives. Sure there are bad things happening here..."

His head would drop.

"But nothing as big as surviving a world of death. Where we come from, everything and almost everyone wants you dead... but here, it isn't like that. Shit, living here is the equivalent of living through golden years of peace for our people... I-"

He hesitated for a moment, contemplating his next words carefully...

"I was made for something more than a normal life."

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would be quiet as Drake spoke. His eyes would never leave Drake's, but he would look deeply weary and troubled as he spoke. For the first time, a frown would play across Dj's face.

This was yet another instance he would have to speak on with 100% honesty. Simple words and reconciliations were not what this required.

"You really were. You were exposed to names I already recognized as some of the most powerful around. You are a heir to great things and you're incredibly powerful. That feels isolating, strange."

"It probably feels wrong because your whole life was supposed to be in preparation to continue that cycle of power, importance, being special."

"I'm not powerful, nor am I much more than a forgotten beat in history. The only thing I ever wanted was to escape what had the potential to make me different. Being nothing was my escape."

"I want to help you... I would do anything I promise..." He would say, on the verge of tears. He had done this so many times now. Try and reach out to other people from the Ark only to not even be allowed to try to help. He wanted a people so bad, and it only ever ended in lashing out and abandonment. He knew that just reaching out could lead to him losing another friend.

"I'm not a war, I'm not a nation to rule or really anything special. If you let me, I'll try to help fix that feeling. I promise." He would say, still not quite yet crying, but showing hurt on his face for the first time. Fuck he felt awful for that, but he had to try.

Even if it meant losing someone else.

[Drake]

Drake didn't know how to respond for once. This just entered a new territory that he wasn't used to. Flirting, fighting, and fucking. Those were the three F's he was used to... but Friendship was still difficult for him.

"I..."

He looked down into his Cocoa.

"It's not like I could go back if I wanted. So, I'm gonna have to make do with what I have here..."

He would look up again and smile a small smile.

"And, with a friend like you... It'll be a lot easier."

Dj was waiting for what came next. The inevitable pain. Though when Drake spoke he just looked surprised. He would just smile weakly after it was done, not able to fully express how he felt right then.

"You may not be able to go back, but we may be able to make a place here just for you. Somewhere you could feel comfortable."

He would laugh and finally let a tear fall. Giving an embarrassed blush before saying "It would be a real shame if I didn't get to see that gorgeous smile anymore."

Flirting was obviously his defense mechanism.

[Drake]

Drake would reach up to wipe the tears away.

"Hey now, I ain't going anywhere, ya? And if I do, you bet your fine looking ass you're getting an invite."

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would once again rest his head affectionately in Drake's hand.

He would give a soft chuckle and look him in the eyes before saying "Careful. Flirt anymore and I may believe it."

[Drake]

"I don't lie to my friends."

He would say with a smile.

He would chuckle and say "Then next time we meet I should try and look nice for ya. See what you have to say then." as he continued to sip on his hot chocolate.
