"This way."
He was holding a torch, not the flames sort of torch. A flashlight that doubled as a lantern. The lights were being exchanged in this sector that he was leading her down. The kitchen that all the ex-employees of the company that used to own the factory used was where he led her. There dinner had been prepared for her. It was pasta, with meatballs, and a sauce. A nice spiced sauce with all sorts of stuff. Oregano, Basil, black pepper. Among other things.
"I'll be back by the time you're done, I have to get ready for your medical exam."
He left the kitchen, and went down the hall with the torch. She would have to figure out how to turn on the power in the room, because it worked. There was an open little metallic box on the wall, and the wires were all torn open. There were the necessary materials to fix it. Colors to colors, patterns to patterns. Not that hard. She'd have to to see what was going with her dinner.

Torch? The lights were out? Odd...Chi blinked a few times, taming her eyes to the darkness. She followed him to the destination, pausing to look semi blindly around the room.
"I'll be back by the time you're done..."
Done? Done eating? In the dark? Weird. But as he turned to leave, the flashlight caught the shine of something metal on the wall and her gaze snapped to it. An elecrtical box, and it was completely torn apart...Brilliant.
With a sigh, she made her way over, the impression of what she had seen still imprinted in her eyes. She needed to put the wires back together. Wasn't that dangerous? She could, like, get electrocuted or something. If only she were an electrician, right? Everything was cast in a darkened shade of blue. She could see the different colors in the wires, but they were all different shapes of blue and black practically. So, to start with the lightest two. Possibly yellow? White? Something. She connected them. Nothing.
Next, the two with the similar pattern...did wires have patterns? Apparently. Another connection, still no light. Chi didn't really expect to see any results just yet. Now, the darkest two? Hopefully there wasn't dark blue AND black, they pretty much looked the same. Another connection, and two pairs of wires to go. She connected the second to last pair... The skin on her face felt moist from concentration. Please don't electrocute me.. She connected the last pair, pulling her hands away quickly the moment a secure connection was made.
The lights on the ceiling flickered to life. Success. She could see on the table a meal set for one. For her. Chi suddenly realized just how hungry she was. Sitting down, she soon cleared the whole plate. Delicious.

"Was it that good? Plate in sink. Let's go."
He asked when he walked in the room and saw a cleared plate. He knew when she got the lights back on, because that box serviced the area he was waiting in too. He didn't have the flashlight anymore, just a penlight in his pocket. Next was the medical exam, which would take place down the hall. The monster'd lead her down the hall, and to the right, right into the room with the exam table. Across from that room, was a door that was locked and barred from the outside, with a small glass slit in the wall to look inside. That room was padlocked.
"Hop up on the exam table."
He said, walking into the exam room and turning on the lights. Valekin grabbed his laptop, and flipped it open, then sitting on the stool. He waited for her to sit, and then began his questions.
"Age, Sex, Name, Marital status, and medical history please."
He knew all those things already, but he was making sure the information checked out. Her name, her marital status, her sex, her age, her medical history especially. He was a field medic, he could preform surgery with bits of shrapnel and some sutures. But knowing that his people all checked out was what he needed to know. He could do check ups, make sure they were in good physical health. Mental health was often questionable, but he knew how she's been mentally.

Like clockwork, the moment she set down her fork, Valekin reentered, ushering her off to another room. Chi didn't know much about her way around, and it seemed like the cooridors and rooms never ended.
An examination room, just like at a normal hospital. A shiver ran through the senior's spine, she wasn't a fan of doctors. Some may say she was even a critic. Once again doing as instructed, she sat up on the examination table, briefly wondering how in depth this actual physical examination was.
"17, female, Amuri Chihiro, single, broke my arm last year and two fingers and a minor concussion when I was younger."
How much of a medical history did he want? If he wanted more, he could always ask. Stating her maritial status made her feel like she was on some bizarre dating service, but she wasn't going to think about Aureus just now.

Good, good, good. Everything checked out. He typed in the data verification on the screen. Cryllic moved across the screen next to her picture from a hacked security camera off a closed circuit. He didn't need to ask about her stamina, or physical strength, it was good enough for beginning. As for the rest of her physical status, he needed to find it all out.
"Have you been eating healthy? Exercising regularly? Experiencing any unexplained pain or discomfort? Would you say you're flexible? Have you been sick recently? Do you need yearly flu shots? Do you have any diseases like asthma or mitro-valve prolapse? Any bleeding disorders or blood pressure issues?"
He put the laptop on the counter, and walked back to her, turning on the penlight and shined it in her left eye while covering the right one. Then he moved it to the right one, and covered the left one.
"Open mouth."

Another blur of questions, Chi tried to keep up with the answers as he posed them to her.
"Relatively. Yes. No. ..Um, I think so? No. No. No. No."
Chi's gaze watched curiously as he typed these things into his computer. She couldn't see the screen, and even if she did she wouldn't be able to understand any of it. Her back straightened as she examined her eyes. Her vision was perfect, nothing to be worried about. She stared straight ahead at the penlight, blinking a few times once it was pulled away so her pupils would return back to normal.
What a good little girl, she opened her mouth when instructed, tongue flattening to the bottom of her mouth so he could examine her throat and what not.

"You think you're flexible? That'll be tested then. Are your periods coming regularly? Any STD's? Any mental illness or breakdowns? And I need a full list of all injuries and around when you received them, and if they ever healed completely. How fast does a cut through the epidermis to the dermis heal for you?"
She was being very good. And he would probably have to reward her for it. Probably a bonus on her salary, or good treatment. He tapped her reflex tendon to check her knee's involuntary reflex. This was to clock her reaction time, as if she had a slow reaction time for this, she had a slow reaction time for all other kinds of data. Luckily he was quite well protected against her kicking him in the coconuts. He really didn't want that, and if he did, he'd probably dock her pay.

Chi closed her mouth once more. More questions..
"Are your periods coming regularly?"
"Hai? Yes."
"Any STD's?"
"No."
"Any mental illness or breakdowns?"
Pause. Bottom lip fell between pearly whites. She hesitated before answering. "One."
Her gaze was at her knees, knuckles white where here hands gripped the examination table. Something she hadn't wanted to bring up, and she prayed he wouldn't wish to play counselor as well as doctor, and press her further. She hardly noticed he was still talking..
"...And I need a full list of all injuries and around when you received them, and if they ever healed completely. How fast does a cut through the epidermis to the dermis heal for you?"
"Broken arm, last year. Broken ring and pinky fingers, 2nd grade. Minor concussion, 7th grade." She repeated. "And a cracked rib, right middle. 5th and 8th grades. All fully healed. And...about a week? Depends on the severity."

He tip tapped away on the keyboard of the computer now. The screen was visible to her, but unreadable. As the language was entirely different, with completely different letters as well. Luckily for Valekin, he could read, write, and speak quite a few tongues. It was just a matter of finding people that could speak them as well as he could. He entered in the new data, and the system compiled it to her entire file, then backed it up.
"Ok, you seem to be in good health. I just want to check your lymph nodes before I bring you to your room."
He felt along her neck, in between her mandible, behind the mandible, down her throat... nothing was larger or felt out of place. She was in good health. The lymph nodes are the first things to get pissed off when your body gets infected. He documented this in the computer, and saved it. Then closed the laptop, and tucked it under his arm.
"Alright, you're good to go. I'll bring you to your room."
He left the room and turned out the lights. Hopefully she was still following him. It'd be a long walk to the area where people occasionally stayed. He counted the doors in his head, then checked the knob, and opened the door. The room had a full sized bed, plus a desk, and a night stand. As well as a dresser and laundry basket. If she needed anything else she just needed to ask for it.
"Hope you'll be cozy, if you need anything else, just ask for it. I'll even bring you your sheets and things from your house if you want."
He pulled a card out of his pocket.. how much stuff did he have in his pockets?! Anyway, the card went into a slot on the door, the card read the number eighteen. This meant that she was the resident of that room, and the resident was in.
"Here is the shell of the bullet you fired, I found it in your clothes from the shower, they're being washed right now. All the other stuff that you had in your pockets are going to come back to you when the laundry is done. The number card on your door is yours, and you put it on the door of whatever room you want when you come back. Doors with numbers are occupied, doors without are not. Tonight was a long night. Get some sleep, you'll be awakened at nine."
He set the bullet shell with her number on it on the dresser. It should be kept as a momento, and it was her only means of real identification with the Shadow Knights. As they'll only believe one is a Shadow Knight if they have the bullet with their number. Hers will be engraved, like everyone else's soon.

Once her check was over, Chi followed Valekin to her quarters. It wasn't her room per say, because as he explained, she simply put her card into the door that she wanted. Meaning that it wasn't permanent. Her room was back on Shoreline Drive, with the large windows and window seat, and fluffy white comforter...maybe she would ask for that later.
Now that everything was slowing down, the entirety of the night fell upon her shoulders, and she tired. From navigating blindly through the catacombs to shooting a man, to all of the physical taxings she was put through, sleep was almost too good of an idea. She wanted to sleep forever.
Chi barely lifted her arm to give a slight wave of comprehension as Valekin closed the door behind him. Collapsing onto the bed, head resting lightly on the pillow, tired eyes closed and she hardly kicked off her shoes to fall at the foot of the bed and curled up before losing consciousness into the darkness of sleep.

9 A.M. The following day.
An alarm would sound in her room only, a little bell in a corner of the ceiling rung. It rung several times, in a one two three beat, before pausing and ringing again. There was a clock in the room, and if she woke, she'd see it was nine, and he wasn't getting her up at an ungodly hour, which he promised. Hopefully she'd make her way to the kitchen on her own, for breakfast.
Valekin was already in there, tapping away on his computer. He had come down from his actual room earlier, and was watching an operation as it went. He had a thin headset in one ear, which curled around to his mouth. The things the person on the other end hear, and said would come through the computer's speakers, and through the headset. [/color]
"Право поворота экземпляра… вверх здесь, тщательно за углом."
"Утвердительно."
If she came in at the time he expected, she'd hear that little tidbit of what was going on. Of course, she couldn't read anything on the screen, and the probability of her understanding Russian was slim to none. He still would greet her as she came in.
"Good morning. То на стене?"
"Электрическая коробка."
"Отрежьте в то, примите вне света."
"Утвердительно."

Ding-ding-ding...Ding-ding-ding...Ding-ding-ding...
Her body felt like it had been hit with a freight train. And at first, in her disoriented state of waking, she panicked, sitting bolt upright (ow) and looking around. This wasn't her room...of course it wasn't. She was at a training facility of some sort. Secret place. Valekin's. It just occurred to her tha t she didn't even know the name for where she was. Here. She was Here.
Groaning, she rolled out of bed, her muscles aching from repetitively falling and straining and doing whatever it was that Valekin directed of her. She was to become stronger. She was a Shadow Knight. She would be unstoppable. But first, breakfast.
Changing into a set of dark clothing like the outfit he had given her the night before, and pulling her hair back into a messy bun, she exited her room of sorts and retraced her steps from last night, ending back in the kitchen.
Good morning. То на стене?" ... "Отрежьте в то, примите вне света."
"...Good morning..?" Yes, the Russian did confuse her, but she realized that he wasn't speaking to her when he switched from English to the foreign tongue. The only language she was fluent in besides English was Japanese, and she wasn't sure if he knew it.
Seeing that Valekin was busy at the moment, Chi helped herself to the cupboards, locating a bowl, glass, and a few selections of cereal. She chose cheerios, and then grabbed some milk and orange juice from the fridge to assemble her meal. Once cone with that, she took her breakfast over to the table where Valekin was sitting with his laptop and sat down at the other side and began to eat, silently watching him for a moment before concentrating on her food. It wasn't polite to eavesdrop, even if you didn't know what was being said.

"Sleep well?"
Valekin asked her. Not taking his eyes off of the screen. Making sure the operation went as planned. And it was going the way it was supposed to, they hadn't been detected yet, and it was almost a success. Then failure all in a moment, a security guard came around the corner.
"Hey stop!"
"Прекратите его."
"Утвердительно."
Ratatatatatatatatatatata!
"You can ask what's going on you know."
"Вопрос прекратил."
The mission had gone sour, the operative shot the security guard, and killed him. With a P90. The operative knew what he had to do now, it was escape. And escape he shall. No more orders were necessary for the operative, the job had been done, the bugs were in place, and the mission had been compromised. The man would have to escape now, on his own. Or die trying.Valekin closed the laptop, and severed all communications. Which would tell the operative that he was on his own now, and that if he failed in escaping without capture, he was to kill himself.
