He sighed.
"I'm willing to help you achieve your goals. But I myself can only teach you so much, and if you don't want to fight, to be prepared for War... Then my options really are limited."
He would sigh and sit next to her.
"Either way, if you need me, I'll be here."

Shiloh fell quiet again, thinking about her family, about what war had done to them.
"I can't stop the war from coming," she whispered. She remembered what Adelaide had said, how she thought the TSI would somehow prevent it all, and it hurt her heart to realize that she did not believe her friend. Burying her face in her knees, she continued to speak to quietly. "But I want to somehow... somehow change the WORLD. I want to find a way to show people... that there is more to this world than that."
She chuckled.
"It sounds so dumb, but I... want to embody... love as a mentality, and show people that we can live together. That we can love each other. It's a dumb idea, huh?"

Drake nodded.
"Yeah."
Then it donned on him...
"I mean... for some people, yeah definitely. Stupid. Like shit, I wouldn't ever be able to do something like that."
He chuckled nervously.
"But shit dude, if you think you can, or even if you don't but you want to try, then go for it."

Shiloh couldn't help but laugh at his honesty. It was a tinkling sound, light and genuine, almost childlike in its innocence. A smile returned to her face, but this one was significantly more real, more genuine than most...
And as Drake looked at her, he would see that tiny child hidden deep in her soul lift her head and peek out, just for a moment. It was strange, the way it brought color to her entire soul, the way that small child seemed to bleed genuine love, the kind of love that only children knew, into her entire being. It made her seem brighter, and somehow... stronger. That kindness that was so easy to break, that innocence that so many people lost as they grew older, seemed like a permanent fixture in that part of her soul that she kept hidden away.
"I believe that the world can change. I believe people can change. And I am willing to be an example, to try to help other people. I'm willing to be a light, if that's what it takes."
She didn't have to say the last part of how she felt... it was obvious in the shine of her eyes. This was an ideal she was even willing to die for.

He would promise. As he couldn't help but smile at the innocence of her soul.

She continued to smile and nodded.
"Thank you, Drake... You might not believe me, but you're... you're part of my family... and I really appreciate you, and everything you've done for me."

"I ain't done much. No need to be calling me family. I'll be your friend, but I don't encourage you calling me family. So far being my family has proven to be 99.9% fatal."
He would say honestly.

She chuckled, and gave a shrug of her shoulders.
"That's okay. I'm willing to accept that statistic.. You don't have to call me family if you don't want to, but you are a part of my family."

He would stare at the girl with a raised eyebrow.
"Well you keep up that stubbornness, I won't be even slightly surprised to see you achieve your goals."

She chuckled again, and Drake would see the child begin to curl back in to the center of her soul, where it was safe and protected.
"I'm going to get back home, Drake... I have pictures to develop. You should come by sometime."

He would say.

Shiloh stood up, pausing long enough to smile kindly at Drake. She had a feeling trying to hug him wouldn't end well, so she settled for attempting to, very briefly, put her hand on his shoulder...
And then she turned around and headed home.
