"Yeah. Busted me shoplifting, so I followed him home, totaled his mailbox, then stole his personal car," They snickered as they revisited the memory, shaking their head nostalgically. "Man, I was pretty fucked up, huh?"
They sighed and positioned to sit Indian style.
"Okay, I'm not gonna know shit about this, but your first video game. Go."

Gidget stretched out on her good side, propping her elbow up and resting her head in her hand... and putting her close, but not quite touching, WR.
"It was this old game on the Dreamcast. Your sister gets kidnapped by this gang and you have to go save her, and collect all these dragon artifacts and shit. Oh, it was beautiful. I loved it so much. I actually still have a copy of the game... my original copy. Just no system to play it on."

WR's eyes followed Gremlin as she fell to the floor, and their body twisted slightly to face her. They almost wanted her to lay her head in their lap and stroke her hair... and in that thought they almost completely tuned out what she was saying. They shook their head.
"Wish I coulda had those experiences. I think my sister was a pretty heavy gamer, but honestly don't remember." Was all they could think to say, then the last part finally registered. "It's cool that you still have it, though. Childhood gems are... well, gems." They spoke as if they actually had a childhood.
"Go."

Gidget chuckled, tapping her cheek as she thought what else she might want to ask. She was staring at WR, contemplating everything she had learned about them so far.
"Do you... miss your world?" She asked finally, and for a moment, the snark and bravado faded.

WR exhaled deeply as the question was asked, their gaze creeping away from her. There really... was no easy answer, and they thought on it for a moment before finally turning back to her.
"If you asked me when it first happened... yeah, abso-fucking-lutely. I wanted nothing more but to go back and see everyone again. I struggled with it for the longest fucking time, tossing and turning, waking up in sweats hoping it was all a dream. It never really... got easier. I just, came to terms, you know? I sat down Christmas eve and just... said my goodbyes. Made my promises. Laid it all to rest, and then... I finally found reasons worth living here. I regained purpose. My world couldn't be saved, but this one can. There's a reason I survived, I'm damn sure of that."
A light smile crept its way onto their face.
"So, I miss my family and friends, obviously, and I think about them every day, but no. This is my world now."

She hadn't ever been brave enough to ask Drake if he missed his world, and she typically avoided everyone else. She thought about what it would be like, to wake up and be somewhere else, in a totally different world, away from everyone and everything she ever knew.
She wasn't honestly sure if she would mind it all that much.
"Well, then. Welcome home." Gidget wasn't totally sure why she said it. It was soft, almost a whisper, and a bit more raw than she usually let herself be. Rolling over onto her back, she tucked both of her hands behind her head. "It might be kinda fucked up, and totally foreign, and weird as fuck around here... but if this is your home now, then welcome home."
Maybe this was where they were supposed to be, all along.

WR couldn't help but smile at Gremlin's sweet, genuine voice. They had never heard that sort of rawness out of her before, and they were slightly surprised by it. They scoffed a smile and flicked their hair back, returning her sweet gaze with their own as they laid down next to her.
"Hey, I like weird. This place is great." No matter how hard they tried, they just couldn't bring themself to utter a simple 'thank you'.
After a deep breath, they fell silent, contently staring into her eyes.

Gidget's breath caught in her chest at the closeness. She couldn't remember the last time somebody had simply... laid with her. She didn't think anyone ever had. It was possibly one of the most mesmerizing moments she had experienced in a long time.
She wanted to lean into them... to curl up with them and just feel small, and secure, even if only for a moment. She wanted to forget about everything going on with Scott, and the impending doom, and everything else. She just wanted to feel... safe.
She tucked her head against their shoulder for a moment, barely touching them, like a skittish butterfly... and inhaled that smoky, relaxing scent again.
"Y-your turn, I think."

As Gremlin leaned into their shoulder, WR's arm instinctively wrapped around her head, their fingers playfully dancing in her soft hair, just for a moment. When they realized what they were doing, they jolted their arm back to their side and scratched their head with the other hand. Their face turned red in embarrassment, and they swallowed the lump in their throat.
"Huh?" They tilted their head moments after Gremlin's voice registered, unsure of what she said or how long ago she had said it. They had completely forgotten what they were doing. What the hell was wrong with them?

Gidget was just about to relax into the feeling of WR's fingers in her hair when they pulled back. Instead of rolling away from them, she simply pushed back up to her elbow, which positioned her just a few inches above them, once again close enough to touch.
"Its your turn to ask a question, Sparky."

"I... oh, right. Yeah." They turned toward Gremlin's voice, finding that she was now above them. Apparently, they had zoned out and didn't realize she moved again. They propped an arm under their head and cleared their throat, smiling idiotically at 'Sparky'.
They couldn't think of any questions, in fact they couldn't think at all. They were, simply put, mesmerized, and lost in the moment.
"Why are you so damn cute?" They finally muttered. It was a question. Was it one they meant to ask? No. Was it one they meant? Yes.
Upon realizing it had slipped out, they looked like they were going to make a cover up attempt, but as they opened their mouth, nothing came out, and they were stuck there with tomato cheeks and a stupid grin.

Gidget's eyes widened for a moment, her entire face flushing with color. She seemed caught off guard, as if nobody had ever called her that before.
"Y-you... think I'm cute?" She murmured, and leaned just a bit closer to WR, her eyes flicking back and forth as if she was trying to read them like a book.

WR blinked. Gremlin was getting closer, and they weren't sure what to do about it. They propped up ever so slightly with their elbows, putting them even closer to her.
"Well, yeah. You're cute. I said it." They rolled their eyes, stupid grin remaining. Their face felt like it could set fire at any moment.

Gidget grinned and reached up, before realizing that her only free hand was her broken one. She let it fall back down, carefully, and gave a shake of her head. She had genuinely no idea what to do here.
"Are you... in control of yourself?" She asked softly, her gaze never leaving WR's.

"What, you mean like...?" They trailed off, pondering what she could have meant. Physically? Yes. Mentally? Probably. Emotionally, spiritually, yes and yes... oh, she meant their Qi.
They laughed. Loudly. They dropped their elbows and fell on their back, chuckling like an absolute idiot. "You're not gonna catch on fire, don't worry. I'm just... well, I'm hot. 'Cause of you. So."
They stuck out their tongue.
In just a few seconds, WR had gone fallen from adult, to teen, to child. And they knew it too.
