Now this was a bit hard, since none of his previouse feelings where ever true, it was just acting, or playing with fake emotions. Now he knew why he had a hard time being cruel or anything to her when they had her captive. It wasn't just the fact she was a strong individuel who could fight with body, mind, and spirit. It wasn't her authority, or physical appearance.... Ok maybe some of all that mixed with who she was. Well he drove for a good 10 minutes before he got the ability to speak anything.
"Hey, Mitsuki."
Yes you heard right. Dion actually called Mitsuki by her name. You know its important now, or at least that should hint somewhere in the mind that importance is within his next few words.

"...hm?"
Eyes looked over at Dion, giving him her full attention, as he used her name for once, and not that horrid nickname he had given her. Though perhaps Mitsuki was spoiled, as she nearly got everything she wanted, which wasn't much, but enough. Her body was slightly turned toward him as well, hair blowing to the side as she tucked strands of hair behind her ear.
Hm?

Dion was stopped from talking for a minute like something jammed his voice box. It looked like he was going to say something, but no sound came out, so he shut his mouth so as not to look too stupid because of that. It took another few seconds for him to actually form the words.
"You remember that day when you escaped?"
He asked almost seeming in a dream of his own as he drived, yet paying attention to the road. He'd wait for her motion or comment on it to continue.
"Well... I can honestly say I felt different then and now than any other time in my life."
Yeah, he was buying time, or as it was called 'beating around the bush'. He wasn't sure why he was so hesitent, or nervouse. He used to just say it for no reason, it would spill from his mouth like sweet ear candy. But now he wasn't so sure of himself.
"I think that its feelings for... You... I understand if you dont have feelings for me, just... Something makes me feel like if I didn't tell you now, I may not have another chance."

...eh?
She couldn't see where he was getting at. Why was he bringing up the old times? And it was understandable if someone felt different. He had, afterall, changed his lifestyle and flipped it 180 degrees. He was no longer a 'god', but a regular teen with a heck load of charisma. Though Mitsuki had learned to cope with it - not only that, but she was sure that she got so used to it, his 'lucky' charms no longer affected her.
Though of course, when he finally confessed...
Maybe somewhere deep inside her already knew that he had a crush on her, though she piled other thoughts on top of them, as she wasn't as surprised as she thought she would be. Her eyes averted back onto the road, the silence only thickening the tension. She should say something, do something, but she was never taught how to react in such situations. Though she sort of just sat there, knowing that she wasn't helping out in this situation by just sitting there idly. She may have blinked once, before pressing her hand to her forehead, slightly covering her eyes. Dion was one of her very few friends - or at least, she considered him one. She didn't want to lose him as a friend, and she knew that most high school relationships don't last forever.
"..Dion..."
She didn't know what to say. A weary look veiled over her eyes as she gave out a quiet sigh.
"..stop the car."
She needed to walk. As much as she loved car rides, she needed to think - away from him. She felt a wave of sadness wash over her - or at least, she thought it was sadness. Nevertheless, it was not a good feeling. Just a couple of months ago, Mitsuki would have been a heartless girl - but that was nearly impossible to do now. As apathetic as she wanted to be...
She didn't want to hurt him, but she didn't want him to get the wrong idea either. She had to confirm her feelings - these emotions - before making up her mind. Being with Mitsuki was a dangerous 'job'; she is school captain, not to mention the fact that she has a gang after her. The past seems to be catching up, and there was simply too much drama going on at the moment...though..
She could not risk having a friend in any more danger than they already were. As poor as an excuse it was...
She needed time.

"..stop the car."
Ouch. Dion tried, or more wanted to say somethign else, even taking one hand off the wheel in a very short attempt to reach it over, but stopped himself. He made a turn and slowed to a stop on the side. He wasn't sure what to say now... Could he really just let her... Leave like that? With those psycho's able to come out fo no where any second? Well maybe the actual question was more... Did he have a choice?
"Mitsuki, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."
Well that bombed on him. Well thats putting it lightly. More like the bomb went off and killed the major populace. The same power as the nuke that hit Hiroshima.

As the car came to a slow stop, Mitsuki sat quietly for a good moment, letting her thoughts come together. Before she left, she wanted him to know a couple of things.
"...my life isn't exactly as simple as I'd like it to be. Being involved with me in a mere friendship is risking enough as it is; to get romantically involved is like asking you to be bait for a plan that doesn't even exist."
She paused, her hand moving toward the handle bar as she positioned herself to leave. Her feet shifted slightly as she kept her eyes in front of her, watching people cross the street and birds fly over head.
"..I'm not saying you're incapable of defending yourself, but... Trouble will find you when the battle is originally with me, and if there are devastating results.."
This was one of the very few fears that Mitsuki had. That a loved one should be in danger because of Mitsuki, that a battle which was originally for her would find an innocent. She turned slightly to face Dion, to see his reaction, but it would only be a passing glance. Her hand would have pulled on the handle bar by then, pushing open the door with her arm and stepping out, letting the door close softly before she went on her way. Hands slipped into her pockets as she moved with such grace...though as she left, you could very well hear her whispering some words.
"I hope you understand."
