Oblivious (WR)

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would nod and step inside. Walking over to sit on his couch before looking at WR. Another first, he was focusing on them with genuine curiosity. Not looking off dismissively or seeming abnormally composed.

"So what has you so shaken?"

[WR Harthe]

WR shook their head again.

"Not here to talk about me. Tell me more about that totem, where did you get it?" They tilted their head toward it. They'd never seen anything like it before.

He would take a moment, clearly not used to talking about himself.

"I got a snow globe for Christmas. One I could make a wish on. I... wished for..."

He couldn't bring himself to say it. He'd just blush really deep. "I made a wish and I smashed it. This was there with a note explaining it the next day..."

[WR Harthe]

WR fell silent again, as the outcome of their own wish replayed in their head. Clearly, there was some sort of supernatural force behind those damn snow globes. The only question was, what did everyone else wish for? One stupid wish could easily doom the entirety of their existence, and they weren't about to lose another world.

They shook their head.

"And it can take you... to the old world?"

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would nod.

"One time. I have to break it to do it though. And I only go back for the god trial."

[WR Harthe]

WR sat in deep thought for a moment.

"I... I've heard about god trials before, actually. In fact I know of a few people that have passed them. Well, that have rumored to."

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would look up in shock.

"W-What?!" Was all he could stammer out. This was a shocking development.

[WR Harthe]

WR nodded.

"I don't know much about them, granted, but I've heard bits and pieces from my experiences with Leon and his accomplices. It really all depends on... who you follow, and what you're trying to do, I think. It'll definitely test you, all of you, and that's really all I can say. Honestly, thought it was BS myself, but it makes more sense now that it's happening in front of me."

Dj would soak in the information, only seeming more confused and stressed. His eyes would start glowing and for a moment, his arm would distort slightly abnormally. Like a glitch but more fluid. He didn't have the emotional capacity to handle this much less respond.

[WR Harthe]

"Good news is I can help you. No, I want to help you, 'cause this means either reaching your goal, your dream, or dying, and I know exactly how that feels."

They sighed, realizing that they were probably just making him feel worse about it.

"There are some things I can't help you with, 'cause at the end of the day it's about you. But... I want to help you prepare, at least, if you'll let me."

He would look over sharply, a concerned look in his eyes as he spoke "What? Why would you do something like that for ME?!" astonished by that

He would pause and tale a deep breath, more of those glitches arising. His form becoming more fluid for a moment.

"I am very grateful if your honest." He would say weakly. "I am just not sure why you would do anything like that for me. You didn't care about me last I knew and now your the first one to offer help. It doesn't feel real yet." He would say, taking more deep breaths.

WR thought about it for a moment. Truth be told, they weren't exactly sure themself. They weren't the nicest person, in fact they were probably far from being a nice person, but what sometimes betrayed them was their love for helping people. Life on the streets taught them independency, but it also showed them how it felt to be helped, and how much little actions could mean to someone.

They stared blankly for a moment, then, as they collected their thoughts, empathetic eyes fell over Dj. He really was just a lonely person in need of someone to lean on, and in a way, all the help he provided to others made him even lonelier.

"Look, I've been a dick to you, I'll admit that, but it wasn't out of distaste or spite or anything. I'm just... not very good with people, and have always gone out of my way to shut them out, that I don't know how to let them in anymore. Sometimes it happens, but most of the time it doesn't. So, that aside, it doesn't take for us to click for me to want to help you. I know how it feels to be offered a chance to chase your dream, only to be plagued by doubt and fear until you crumble under the pressure. You don't have to do this alone."

[Djoser Aneksi]

"Doubt and fear are relatively new to me. I won't get into my backstory but I really don't like this. I just got too lonely to stay hidden."

He would almost tear up. "I just want to be a part of something meaningful. The only way I could ever is if I do this. At least then... I could really help people."

He was calm now, but significantly more anxious than before, shaking dreadfully as he holds his knees to his chest. Not used to this at all.

"Thank you for offering, any help you can give me regarding the trials I will gladly take."

[WR Harthe]

WR nodded, tapping their fingers on the chair while they contemplated what to say. Dj was... already helpful, even if his help wasn't acknowledged as so. Did he have an inferiority complex? Worthlessness? Depression? All of the above? Whatever it was, WR didn't think he needed to go to such extravagant lengths to make himself useful, but this was also the opportunity of a lifetime, and he only had one shot.

They huffed. This was starting to stress them out, too.

"Well, before I offer you anything you need to start working on that mental of yours. If you're anything like me, today is a weak day, and tomorrow you'll be on a new kind of high. So, if there's anything I can do for you right now, tell me. If not, when you're ready to challenge yourself, you know where to find me."

[Djoser Aneksi]

He would pause, with only one thing to say.

"Don't think any less of me for this display of weakness. I am only acting like this state because opening up is very hard for me. That's all for now."

He'd say letting out a big sigh.
