"I already know this is what's going to happen!" she says.
"All I wanted was to be able to be here to fight for my home! I don't even get to TRY. There's always someone or something waiting to keep me back until it's too late!"

"What difference do you really think you would make by getting to the top of Olympus?"
He would ask.

"I don't know. How can I know unless I ever got there." she'd say, her tone softening.
"Are you trying to tell me that no matter what, I'd be useless?"

"Would you like to see with my eyes?"
He would ask holding out a hand.

She hesitates, but, reaches out to take his hand. At this point what could it hurt.

She would feel a surge of power flow into her from her dad and her eyes would go dark for a moment before seeing multiple images, scenarios of things that could happen. Images of her ignoring the secret back door and attempting to climb Olympus, sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing, others where she found a way to convince the cousins and Thor, even one involving her succeeding in making it to the top of Olympus before the chains, however most of the Gods mocked and ridiculed her. Even with proof that it was a warning from Mimir they were arrogant enough to believe they could handle any threat. But no matter what she did it always ended with the fall of Olympus and the deaths of the gods. There were even images of her giving up on the Gods and riding out with a few like minded individuals only to last less than an hour as an explosion rocked the sky sending out waves of energy that destroyed almost everything, but every time she would die and fail whatever tasks she was trying to accomplish. Finally her father would let go of her hand and sit in silence waiting to see Kaia's reaction.

Kaia's eyes would blink rapidly once she was released from the visions. It took her a moment to take it all in, but once everything synchronized, she would just fall to her knees, gazing at the floor.
"I see." were the only words she could think of saying in that moment.

"I was trying to tell you. Your place, OUR place, isn't on this world. It is doomed to end."
He sighed.
"You're so focused on trying to keep something that is lost, when you should be setting your sights to new horizon's."
He would offer her his hand.

She doesn't take it, worried he was going to show her more things. She didn't want to see anything more.
"Right. New horizons..." she'd repeat, though clearly it still sounded like something that left a bad taste in her mouth. Probably normal when you have to face what's essentially the death of the one thing you ever wanted.
She'd take a breath, raising her head and smiling up at her dad from her spot on the floor.
"I guess I better get dressed."

"Do you really despise the New World so much?"

"It's hard to love a replacement....one that also tries to cage you. One where everything in your past means nothing" she'd say, not finding it hard to admit. She'd pick herself up, keeping her breathing slow in order to keep herself calm.
"It's alien. It has none of the customs I'm used to. Yeah. It's a bit of a hard adjustment."

"That's understandable... but you must realize that part of what makes that transition so hard is your unwillingness to let go. If you look at the New World as your New Home, the New World that you need to protect, maybe it will stop being so Alien?"
He suggested.

Kaia wasn't sure she could ever see the New world as something precious enough to protect. But there were some people in it that were. Maybe that was enough for now.
"If I'm supposed to give up on wanting to make a change here, I have. There's nothing for me here. Not anymore. I can't change a single thing.I can't take back what's lost. So I'll go back." she'd say, clenching her jaw a bit. It hurt to say it out loud, but the Fates had decided that her place was in the New World it seems. She would stop longing for the old one. Stop regretting her path.

"You mention something to one of the earlier versions of me, something about you not having a destiny on that world?"
He would shrug, that may not have been the exact wording but that's what he got out of it.
"Would you feel better about going back if I were to inform you that, that world isn't safe. The times of peace are coming to an end and chaos is going to envelope the New World and it will need defenders to rise. On top of that the being that destroyed this world will be setting his eyes on the new one and you will have to face them again, and when you do you will need to be much much stronger than even the gods of this world were."

“And how the hell do we achieve that in a world that doesn’t have even half the Qi ours did?” She’d frown.
