Not that it mattered. Dog wasn't interesting to her from the start, so she doubted that would change. She preferred people less dull. Which on that topic, this Rat person seemed to be too. They all just seemed devoid of life, laying around. Being...weird.

Considering that was her style too.

He nodded, and his shoulders relaxed just a bit. His eyes grew distant for a moment, before he refocused on the two before him.
"Rooster should be on his way. He was out fetching something for my twins, here. They're both exhausted."
He glanced up at Dragon again, and she ducked her head without saying anything.
"Rat, would you go see if you can find Rooster for us?" The boy nodded and threw himself to his feet. He gave Kaia and Cain both a little salute before moving to walk out of the room, nodding to Dog as he passed her. She offered him no acknowledgement at all.
"While we wait, maybe its time we formally introduce ourselves? They call me Snake, on the streets." He smiled again at the two.

"Recently, we've been working with the underbelly of the city. It's the only place where the TSI and Anti-Meta organizations don't operate as well. We have our fingers in a lot of pies, gathering information to try to figure out exactly how and where to strike out. Operating in the light has only gotten us 'put in our place,'" he said, complete with air quotes. "But since we have started working underground, with we have managed to move mostly undisturbed."

"Unfortunately, that information starts to get into the personal side of our business. I would love to share it with you, but until I've got a solid agreement, I'm afraid that isn't possible. I couldn't have you running to the TSI or any of the other Anti-organizations with what we've managed to gather, now can I?" He raised his hands in a slight shrug, almost as if he were apologizing for it. Suddenly, Rat walked back into the room without announcing himself, another man following him in. He was grinning from ear to ear, as if he held the holy grail in one hand, and wandered in. Glancing at Kaia and Cain, he was careful to avoid them, before turning his attention to Snake. "Hey, Boss! I got that... thing." He glanced sideways at the two newcomers, before turning his smile back to his leader. "Rat's all set up to go at the end of the week."Snake waved off his words and gave the man a nod. "Thank you. Rooster, these are our guests. Kaia is the one the twins found in their little fiasco, and this is Cain, whom she brought with her. Kaia, this is Rooster, the one I was telling you about." He turned to look the two of them over with his one good eye before snickering to himself. "The one who impressed the twins. I kinda thought you'd be... different." He held out a hand. "I'm the Cock of the Walk around here! Rooster. Nice to meet you." There was a sneer hidden just beneath his smile, and he was obviously assessing her, as if sizing her up. He ignored Cain completely. |

Kaia would narrow her eyes, not at all pleased with the implication of him expecting something different. She takes his hand and grips it more firmly than necessary.
And puts on a bright smile.
"It's so nice to meet you~."

Rooster gripped Kaia's hand back, just as firmly as she did, and his eye flashed in challenge. His smile was still plastered across his face.
"Of course! It's nice to meet you too!" He leaned forward ever so slightly, squeezing her hand a little bit. "I heard you were actually smart enough to find them by yourself! Is that true?"

Rooster's smile grew even wider as he felt her increase the power. He continued to squeeze just a bit harder, even going as far as to lean in ever so slightly.
"You would think it would stupid easy for everybody, considering the entire thing was controlled by children! It was obviously an easy puzzle to solve. Good job on your accomplishment, though!"
