Rai would get up and walk over to sit in the chair beside Shiloh and he let out a sigh as he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Sweetheart. I've always known you were a Meta, it's literally my job to find your kind."

She stared up at him for a moment before she burst into sobs. She placed both hands on her face as she fought to control herself, her entire body shaking as the tears finally came.
"I t-told Adel, and now s-she ha-a-a-ates me," she said through her sobbing.

Rai pulled out his handkerchief and offered it to Shiloh.
"Ah... I see."
Now it made sense.
"Well, I may have some words about that if you would like to hear them?"

She nodded, taking his handkerchief to blot at her eyes.

"I never told Addie about your powers. I didn't know why you were keeping them a secret, but after getting to know you, and after everything you did for her after her mother... Well, I knew you weren't a threat, or rather I trusted you wouldn't be. Which, let me just say how proud I am of you for never, ever, giving me a reason to doubt you. You are one of the few pure souls I've ever met."
He would say with a kinds smile.
"But, obviously, I know how difficult life can be for your kind on this world, and you rarely used your abilities, so I let you keep your secret. Gave orders that no one was to expose you. Admittedly I probably shouldn't have kept it from my daughter... but I figured you would tell her when you were ready... I now see I should've approached you sooner. Then maybe you, and she, wouldn't have to be suffering this heart ache."
He would let go of her shoulder as he sighed and leaned back in the chair. It was not as comfortable as his own...
"That being said. I know my daughter, better than she knows herself I'm sure."
He chuckled.
"She will need some time, I can suspect how this is hitting her... but if there is one thing I can say for certain is that she loves you too much for a single secret, no matter how big or difficult, could destroy it. I don't know how long it will take, and I have a feeling that if she talks to me and finds out that I knew, she will turn most of her anger towards me, because it's easier for her to be mad at me than you."
He would say with a sad smile.
"But the hurt you feel now? Own up to it. I understand why you kept your secrets, but the fact that you didn't tell her despite how close you two have gotten, that hurt IS your fault. That being said, I promise, that this will not be permanent. Ok?"

The more he spoke, the more she was able to get a grip on herself. Her sobs turned into little sniffles, and the shaking in her shoulders subsided.
"I... know it's my fault... I n-never doubted that... and I don't even have a g-good excuse. But I didn't keep it f-from her because of her. I k-kept it because of m-me and my own fears."

"As I said, I am fully aware. I won't chide you for your decisions. As long as you take responsibility for your decisions. Don't make excuses, and when Addie comes back to talk to you, which she will, you be sure to tell her the whole truth, and nothing less, if you want to keep her in your life. Understood?"

Shiloh nodded, her head bowed. She held on tight to Rai's handkerchief. She wasn't totally sure Adelaide would come back, but if she did... She had no intention of lying to her. Not again.

Rai gently flicked the side of Shiloh's head.
"Hey, I've been around long enough to know what that face means."
He chuckled.
"You trying to say that I don't know my daughter? If I said she will come around, she will come around. Okay?"

She gave a little shrug. She didn't know what to say, anymore. Not to that. She held out his handkerchief and smiled, a bit sadly.
"I have... a lot of apologizing to do, Mr. Sudeki. But I wanted to start with Adel, and you."

He shook his head as she offered him back the fabric.
"Keep it I have a feeling you will need it more than me. Also, you have zero reason to apologize to me. I know you feel like you were hiding a secret from me, however, lets call it even as I also kept it a secret that I knew about you. Deal?"

He would say taking her hand and holding it in his.
"Please be patient. She will come back to you. Just give her time."

Shiloh nodded, keeping her gaze averted for a moment. Taking a deep breath, she finally raised those sharp, green eyes to meet Rai's. Her lips were pressed into a thin line of determination, and she gave him a single nod.
"I will. I promise. I'll wait for her."
