Rose had gone out to find some food and water as they took another break on their journey, however, Elias would find that she wasn't coming back. By now she should have!

It takes him a couple minutes to realize she hasn't come back right away, and he frowns.
There shouldn't be anything able to stop her, physically. She must've gotten distracted again.
Elias gets up to go look in the direction Rose had gone!

He sees signs of where she's been, the shoe-print matching hers and very little else disturbing the ground!
It looks like she got pretty far, but, nothing stops him from following it the entire way.

Seems like a pretty run of the mill walk.
The moment he notices a struggle however, he's met by the sight of Rose pinned to a tree by a large metal spike through her torso. She's also slumped over it, which is odd since she usually revives rather quickly.

Elias' eyes widen, and he immediately heads over to kick that spike out of her!

Faye gives a hard sigh at the demand, as if it's such a chore. She'd have to use so many words.
"I inspected her and found she'd ingested some poisonous mushrooms. She happened upon me at my research camp and displayed aggression. I attempted to kill her about three times but she did not seem to perish. If anything she seemed to thrive off it."
She pauses, almost like she's considering that, before continuing.
"I had her pinned to that tree to restrain her, but, she started pulling it from her torso so I used a potion to induce sleep. I'm hoping to let it pass through her system before letting her go."
