Another day had gone by, another sun has set. Another kid has been beaten, and his friends were thoroughly upset. Another night has gone by without a sound. Another moon has shone it's light across the cold, empty ground. Another dust cloud rose to meet the sky, as it announced coming feet. Another kid has entered the school, while glancing back at the street. Hush....a silence falls over the school grounds as classes start. ....
And in a tree, not on school grounds, yet not so far A kid starts to draw in his book, creating works of art.
Zan had been sitting in a nearby tree from which he could view the school. The same things happened everyday: kids were getting beat, people were breaking school property, new victims emerged from the depths of wherever they came from. New bullies emerged from the pain of the old victims, new heroes decided to stand up and take the blame.
Sighing, Zan continued to sketch the school along with the grounds. A simple stroke here, a hard curved line there, a straight rectangular plane here, and a dot there. He had been curious about these so called "Pillars", who were supposedly helping to keep order in the school. Laughably, the students were as wild as chimpanzees on a hormone induced riot. The Pillars were not doing their job, or so it seemed.
"These Pillars....where are they when you need them. The legendary School Captain, the one whose supposed to be the leader of the Pillars is nowhere to be seen," Zan said with contempt.
Standing up, he balanced on the tree limb as he placed the final touches to his masterpiece. It turned out pretty good this time, not as horrid as last time, and way better than the first time he tried it. A smile flickered across his face as he dropped down to the ground and turned to see a figure approaching.
Standing there, looking quite warm in his clothing, and appearing quite emotionless with a blank face, Zan waited as the figure approached.
"Your late for school...," he said quietly as the figure arrived.

OOC: This song.Do you feel the tensions rise Do you know why we always fight To be better, better than you And you better than me [/i] "So... I take divide 5 to get 'H' by itself?""Yes.""Oh.. And from there it's just simple algebra?""Yes.""Oh! Thank you!"With a nod, Mitsuki walked away, eyes locating the large clock from up at the school library wall. Slinging her backpack over her shoulders, she walked down the stairs from the library and toward the courtyard; her first period classroom was in a different building, and she wouldn't want to be late. As the School Captain, there were certain expectations to be met; and due to the fact that there were only two other pillars - Aureus, who she depended on that was now severely missing in action, and Saint, who had just returned from his long absence - you couldn't possibly expect Mitsuki to stop all fights from all four buildings simultaneously. She was no super hero. As she passed by the courtyard, she noticed students hurrying their ways to class to avoid getting in trouble. One particular student she noticed was a boy up in a tree, standing, and talking to another person who had just entered the school premises. Hm, they better get a move on. They still had time to get to their classrooms, so Mitsuki figured it best to just leave them be--- "MITSUKI, I CHALLENGE YOU FOR YOUR TITLE!"...and this kid? Well. Rightfully ignored. "Don't walk away from me!?!!?"She stopped walking, briefly, her head turned over her shoulder before she faced him. "You have ten minutes to knock me out. Your time begins now."...and all she did was stand there. Was she trying to be cool? Nah..but you have to admit, she is a pretty calm and collected person. I am not what you see, oh no Not much more than a slave I wish to be I am not what you see Not much more a slave I should be Nothing more, a slave I will be [/color]

You have appeared in the light I have caught you in my sight You cant hide or run away Wont you come, join me and stay?
Zanathos's head quickly jerked up at the sound of someone shouting amidst the whispering and barely audible sound of the school grounds. He spotted a figure pointing at another figure as it shouted a challenge.
"MITSUKI, I CHALLENGE YOU FOR YOUR TITLE!"
"Hmmm..."
He looked into the distance as he dropped down from his lofty perch atop the tree. Zan landed wth a thud, as slight dust rose from the ground, due to the impact. Quickly, he ran towards the school to see this exciting event...
He might get the chance to finally see the renowned figure which had the title of School Captain.
Zan finally reached the egde of the school grounds, the entrance of the school yard. Peering into the school yard as he placed a hand over his eyes to block the sun Zan saw the school captain. Standing there...either ignoring or dismissing a young male who was flushed from either embarrasment or anger. Grinning Zan continued to watch with interest.
"Mitsuki....," he said to himself in a hushed tone. The girl standing there in the middle of the yard didnt look half bad...in fact, even though he wouldnt admit it, she looked pretty hot.
Shaking his head he denied the fact. If this girl was indeed the school captain, he wouldnt even have a chance in any sort of event with her. Especially relationships.

Tick...tock...
Tick.....tock......
Tick.........tock.........
Every attack evaded. Before this even began, she knew he was not school captain material, and if she was going to 'give up' her rightful 'ownership' of this title, it would be to someone who could do the job better than her. And this mere boy still had a long way to go; he had a lanky body; disproportionate, which would be a disadvantage in battle. None of his muscles were toned, which meant that either he was doing this for fun, or he was simply out of it. What goal would he accomplish with this title? Nothing. Already she knew that he could not beat her; and the one she was looking for, the one who would take her title in the future, was someone who could defend not only himself, but others. That he or she would take the title for unselfish reasons.
Although she really hated to underestimate people, or even judge them by appearance...
"Time up."
She looked at her watch, her backpack still slung over her shoulder. He was panting, yet Mitsuki hardly broke a sweat.
"...you really want the title? Work for it."
Eyes narrowed on him.
"You're not going to get this title if you're not physically fit."
An insult? No. Just the truth.
"Get to class."
She scanned over the remaining people around.
"All of you."

Gaping in shock, Zan watched the incredibly one sided fight. Laughing out loud, he saw her dodge the kid's attacks nonchalantly as he tried his best. After the fight was over he saw her scan the crowd as she told them to get to class.
Frowning, Zan saw the crowd disperse as they heeded her command. He saw the panting kid still glaring at the captain as his friends ditched him. Time seemed to slow down as a slight breeze swept across the yard. Coughing, he decided to comment on the fight.
"Nice fight...," he said as the panting kid looked over his shoulder.
Allowing his facial expression to harden to one of seriousness, he looked at the school captain and said
"Captain Mitsuki. You and your pillars are quite renown in the school. You all possess extraordinary strength and skill which makes other fighter's skills pale in comparison. I even had the pleasure of meeting Saint, the student body president."
He paused as he knelt to tie his shoes.
"Tell me. If you possess such power and skill...," he stopped as he glanced up at her with slight anger rising deep within him. "..Why is there so much violence in the school! Why is it that whenever I walk down the halls I see another newcomer get beat down by the thugs which roam the halls! Tell me school captain!"
He stood up as he lowered his voice to normal.
"Tell me why you and your pillars can't control them. The thugs. The violence."
He laughed as he found it quite ironic. He was getting worked up over fighting in the school, whilst he himself had found that he thoroughly enjoyed fighting. Grinning he looked at Mitsuki and said in an extremely eager tone.
"Fight me Mitsuki. I want to learn more about this...fighting. Because- if the pillars can't control the unruly kids, then that leaves me one choice."
"To beat them down myself. I know how newcomers feel...i'm pretty recent myself. This school may look pretty on the outside, but on the inside its hell." He walked toward her as the kid who had challenged her took off.
He stopped about 2 feet in front of her and said ,"Could you enlighten me on the main purpose of the pillars and what they do for crowd control?"
His thoughts were becoming erratic again. Closing his eyes he thought back to his first fight...as he immediately withdrew into his self-conscious shell of solitude.

Ignorant. That's one word to describe the boy who just spoke directly to her; he should have searched for facts before speaking out his opinion, because, face it. Facts overrule opinions, because no one really cares what you think. Not many, anyway. She was very patient as she turned to face him, letting him finish his thoughts and whatnot before she herself would begin to speak. Though, if Mitsuki wasn't emotionless, she would have laughed right in his face, no joke. But because she was emotionless, she'll start off with this.
"...is this a joke?"
Eh?
"Know your facts, kid. There are, currently, two pillars, one of which is missing in action. Including me, that only makes two people to break the fights between four buildings. Like you, we're both students; we both have classes to attend and things to do. Not giving out excuses, so don't take this the wrong way, however, there's only so much that two people can do compared to the hundreds and thousands of students that attend this school."
She gave out a blank stare, before shifting herself in front of him.
"And let me tell you a little secret. People here don't like transfers and new students. They're potential targets, and by transferring here, the newcomers are basically asking for it. PHS #259 has a notorious reputation. Transfers know that."
And if he should say that he himself did not know, bull sh!t. Utter bull.
"The main purpose for us is to keep peace within the school. Either this is your first time coming to a school with the pillar system, or you're simply not aware that this is peace. The fights you see are minor and can easily be broken up. You say inside the school is hell? Try going over to the notorious PHS #552, where they're currently going through a war right now."
How did she know? Simple. Internet.
"As for your second question, the answer is simple. Crowd control? There aren't any fights that are that big. I didn't see any and none were reported to me; but should a fight break out, I'll let you see first hand what I do."
She was facing him now, bag still slung over her right shoulder.
"You want to fight me? Go ahead. Attack me and see if you can accomplish anything."
He won't, she knew for a fact, but whatever. Let him have his moment of glory.

Zan thought to himself one word which would fit her. She was a total bitch. But nevertheless, she was right about her facts and such. Unfortunately, all that she said was true. Including the fact about him being new to the whole pillar routine.
"Your right. I didn't know anything about this school. I didn't know what pillars were either. And two people you say? Then you should get a new third pillar to help out. If there's one whose missing in action, then you should get a new pillar in your group."
She spoke in a tone that expressed nothing. There was no light behind her eyes, no emotion within her words. Was she some sort of cold, heartless being?
"Your words seem pretty damn empty. I don't know whether I should feel sorry for you or to be afraid."
He grinned as his mood changed again.
Oh, shit! Not this again.. He had thought that his mood swing problem had been destroyed in the recent event, but unfortunately that didn't seem to be the case.
Feeling quite good he gritted his teeth from laughing. Then his laughter burst out as he laughed jovially. Tears streamed down his face as he struggled to look back up at the girl with some serious discontentment, but that would not be happening. Bending over from the pain of laughing he spoke in gasping breaths.
"Y-you- *gasp*...y-you s-s-uck."
Gritting his teeth, he tried once more, but he burst out laughing again. He drew his arm back and punched himself in the face to get his bearings. Shaking his head he looked back up at Mitsuki and said:
"What class are you going to next? May I escort you there?"
((Hmm...something wasn't right in his head.- author comment))

"I give all pillars a specific time limit if they should suddenly disappear. A pillar was already released from her duties, and the other, I suspect, is on a borderline. When I find a someone worthy enough for the missing pillar position, I'll give it. But at this very moment, there is no one that I have seen, or met. So until that person comes along, that pillar position will remain empty."
As for her being empty, that was a lie. It's not that she was putting up a facade, but she had to at least train herself to be apathetic so that emotions would not get in the way of combat. It was a very "handy" thing, though it came with a price. No anger - though there were times when she was, as one would say, "hella pissed" - no happiness. Not exactly an empty shell; there were emotions, just surpressed and hidden in the way back of her mind.
His sudden change in attitude did not surprise her. She had seen too much sh!t to actually be surprised by a boy who was, or seemed to be, bipolar. 259 just seemed to be an attraction to the mentally "ill", for a lack of a better word.
"No. Just get to your own class, kid."

Nodding he stood up as he decided to acknowledge the Pillar's authority. Now he knew more about the Pillars- much more. He also had gained a sense of respect for these law enforcing students who had taken on a double duty of being a student as well as a patrol.
His mood swing had come as a surprise, yet he was certain that he had gotten rid of his bipolarity. Zan knew, he knew that his mood swing had come about because he had forced it to appear. He had fallen for the shallow concept of "love-at-first-sight" and had underestimated everything. Everything.
"Alright. I will head to my class now. Good luck School Captain Mitsuki."
He hesitantly turned away as the farewell was spoken. When he had rotated about 90 degrees, he just stopped and stood there in the middle of the yard. Then he decided to keep on walking in that direction, reached a side door of the school and headed inside.
(OOC:Yup. HMMMmmmmmm....fun. XD ))
