Brrrring! The last school bell rang, Olseya shut her locker with a snap, slinging her backpack over one shoulder. She met up with her sister Gabri as she left the building, greeting her with a cheesy one armed hug as older sisters do their younger siblings. Gabri cringed. "You're such a dork, sometimes, ya know?" But she was grinning. Growing up with a relatively large family was hard, but luckily Olesya got aong with all three of her siblings. Gabri was only one still home on a regular basis, though Darien came home to do his laundry still.
A short walk from the school stod a large brick building. It had once been a firehouse, but now was converted into a combination florist/cafe, their house resting on the floors above. The roof was home to her mother's greenhouse that fed the florist shoppe. Opening the front door, a bell chimed. A blonde woman in an apron waved cheerily to the two of them. Meridian, their mom. Olesya and Gabri dropped off their backpacks by the staircase, grabbing their respective aprons from a hook on the wall. Olesya tied her apron deftly, wrapping the strings around her and tying them in front. The girls took over the cafe while their mom moved to the florist counter.
"Have you heard about the party this weekend?" Gabri asked, tucking a notepad into the pocket of her apron.
"What party?" Olesya threw a new pot of coffee onto the burner, grabbing her own notepad and a cloth to wipe down tables.
"Jimmy's party. His parents are out of town."
"Ohh." The older sister shrugged, walking out from behind the counter, wiping it down as she went. "I dunno, maybe."

There was someone on the other side of town that Dylan had to meet. Unfortunately since he didn't have a car he had to walk all the way there and seeing as how Long Beach isn't a small town that was a pretty far walk. Safe to say he was going to need a drink to keep him hydrated.
"I knew I should have grabbed a drink from the vending machines at school. Oh well, isn't there a new cafe around here somewhere?"
Dylan had heard word that there was some fire station that was turned into a florist/cafe not to far from here and that was where he was headed. Going down the block and making a right he saw the place.
"Bingo."
Dylan had never been to a cafe, only coffee shops. But he had heard they were similar. As long as he could get some coffee to go he'd be happy. If he couldn't, well, he'd just make a huge scene and get them to figure out a way to make it to go.
A bell was heard as he entered the shop. One of those to let the employees know someone is there. As Dylan entered he saw to girls working there.
"Hey."

"Table five's latte and mocha cap are ready." Gabri finished topping off the cup in her hands with rich cream, sprinkling the top with powdered chocolate before setting them on a tray on the counter. Olesya stuffed her cleaning rag in her pocket, picking up the tray to deliver it to the customers.
Coming around the edge of the counter, the bell to the front door jingled. Looking up, Olesya saw a boy enter, heading toward the cafe portion of the shoppe. She smiled in a friendly manner, both because it was her job to do so and because she was a benign person in nature.
"Hey." She replied in return, smiling graciously. "You can take a seat wherever you want, I'll be with you in a moment, sir." Sir. The kid was the same age as she was, but she was the one on the clock. Anything to make the customer feel important. Turning her attention from the boy who just entered, Les took the tray over to a table by a window, table five, and set the drinks down in front of a rosy looking couple.
