Mikon just sprawled on the floor. He gave a soft yowl- which would be the closest to an 'aww' as he could get. Though to be honest. He didn't care much- that human was good at petting. He was a harmless ball of purring fluff and would be for a while- having landing in a nice sunny spot. Purrrrrrrrrr.
Oki smiled, "It's very easy to make, very filling to eat. Good for bachelor's world wide," she nodded. "First things first, wash his hands- we don't want to taste Mikon in the rice balls after all."
While she would wait for him to do this, she would start diving up the rice- there was enough for them to make eight each- with a surplus in ingredients.

He turned on the sink, putting some soap in his hands and turning the faucet to hot. He lathered up his hands, the palms, the fingers, the backs of the hands, and inbetween the fingers, and rinsed them off. The hot water scaled his skin a bit, but that heated feeling would go away after a few moments.
"No.. if I wanted to taste cat I'd go to a foreign country."
He said, with a light laugh. Good for bachelors world wide huh? Maybe this would be a good learning experience for him. But he wouldn't use seaweed on his own, he'd probably use something else. The idea of seaweed didn't please him very much at the moment. He thought of a heavy enough dose of salt to stop his heart.
Eeeeek the sodium is over NINE THOUSAND!

Oki watched him, waited until he was ready, the putting a little salt, sesame, and one portion of the separated rice amounts in her hand, "Pinch on rice on your palm, and some sesame- not necessary if you do not like it."
She smiled, wrinkled her nose, "Carefully place a few things you like in the middle after pressing a small hole into the rice in your hand," she put in a few pieces of cooked meat and a sprig of bamboo in the center. Her hands were a little shaky- her levels were a little low, after passing out and the sudden onslaught of stress had given her more than enough for today- time with Jason...would cure he woes for the day- she was already feeling more alive and a happier.
She closed her hands around it, pressing the rice together into a ball, "Press it together- make sure to have a firm girp- not enough to crush it but to let it know who's boss," she joked. Squeezing to shape it into a triangle, "Shape it as you please- traditionally triangles and ovals are made- Oki isn't sure why but it is."
She started to put some seaweed on the rice triangle, smiled, "Oki thinks it may have something to do with the dao and with the food of the immortals, but," she shrugged lightly, "I do not remember- it's been a long while since she's actively practiced...or been home."

He followed her instructions. Shaping the rice, adding the spices, all that jazz. He wasn't really used to this, so he shaped his into more of a sphere than anything. This wasn't something he was rather used to, not at all. Sure, when she did it, it looked easy. But it wasn't. Not for him, not for the italian!
WHY CAN'T IT BE LIKE PASTA?!
He thought.
"This is quite different... mine are becoming orbs. Like little white hot fireballs spat from the maw of Fenrir."
He was talking mythology again. Mythology often turned into a turn off. Often. Very very often.
"Home is where the heart is Oki. As my mother used to say when we went on trips, and one of us got homesick."

Oki's hand rested on his before he could put the rice sphere down. Pressing lightly, she helped him shape it to an oval, she wrinkled her nose slightly, gave a smile, "Less like Fenrir more like Narukami- apply more pressure than you were- it's like molding a young mind, only this one is more pliable."
She slowly let go of his hands- human contact...damn you Zack- both for the pregnancy and giving her the want to actually make physical contact with people. Oki had never been a toucher, she kept her distance, it made a wall for her to build on- but after living with him. She could feel her eyes well up, bowed her head and began the masterwork to another riceball, Don't cry, Oki- don't cry again. You don't need to cry, don't let him see you cry again. Don't. Don't. Think of something else, think of something else.
But his comment about home and heart, allowed tears that little break to spill down her cheeks, But my heart has...how can I feel at home when he took such a big part of it to his grave?
She forced a smiled for Jason, made a comical face, "Insane hormones. Oki supposes he is right. Home is where the heart is."
She sniffed, set her second onigiri onto a small plate, Will this ever stop hurting?
"Though Oki's still not quite sure, where her heart has settled. India and Japan- or here in California. A wandering tendency almost."

"You'll settle yourself eventually. I know you will. There isn't much else someone can do."
He said, taking the help when she lent it to him, and started on another, this time trying to form it into a triangle, rather than a sphere or an oval. He figured, a triangle would be easier to eat. Like a tostito chip. Like Nachos. Mmmm he could go for some nachos.
"So.. how are you doing with all... of that?"
She just learned today that she was pregnant. She probably knew who the father was. And he knew it wasn't himself. Which was kinda a relief. How could one be the father if he hadn't touched her at all in that way? Though he had never thought about it.
Must keep my mind of that sort of thing...

Her smile suddenly seemed worn, tired- as if she'd have to face the reality of it sooner as opposed to later- she'd already lost and entire month, a whole month. Eight left. A month of preparation- of what could have been joy, lost- lost to death, loneliness- responsibility. And alone... all of what to come next- sure she'd have helping hands but...she had lost the closeness that- in this kind of situation would have been ideal.
Worries of her sisters finding out- what they would say, how they would react, how fast they'd all show up and..turn her life upside down. How fast she'd lose control of everything- how quickly she already had. What happened to her just being a cat lady who liked to think about having a kid- after getting married, how could she have..how could her life plans gone so awry?
Shaking her head- suddenly realizing she was shaking a bit and her tears had grown more free- she turned away from Jason and grabbed a towel- wiping her eyes. Her voice a little muffled by the towel, "Pardon Oki- she's still a bit woozy from the hospital."
She wasn't- but it should have been a sufficient save, she liked him- he was safe, a good friend. Fun to talk to, spend time with- she didn't need someone worrying about her. No one needed to do that. She made up her mind to not tell her sisters before she finished wiping her eyes and setting the towel aside, facing him again and taking back up the making of onigiri. "As with everything- Oki has to adjust."

"Adjustment is part of evolution. Without the ability to adapt, we would have died out a long time ago."
He said. Now he was slowly getting the hang of making these rice balls. Packing in the spices and the rice into an edible shape. He wondered how she'd react if he made a star out of one. Or something like that. It'd be pretty funny. He chuckled out loud a bit. He had been thinking to himself too much.
JUNGLE GYM SHAPED ONIGIRI!
"Considering everything, I guess we have to say we're pretty lucky. You haven't killed yourself yet, and you haven't tried to kill the baby, and you've yet to kill me. So.. I think you're adjusting fine. As long as you stay away from murder or manslaughter, you'll be fine. I'll make sure of it."

She watched him for a long moment, eyes shimmering for a moment- Oki was...a gentle soul- took some wrong turns with a few drugs, some bad people, a gang or two- but she had turned it all around. Turned it all around because her sister...AiAiAi almost died in childbirth- the only baby that would scream and cry unless Oki held her...Bijou. Everything for Bijou and her siblings.
She waved a hand, smiled, genuine joy, "Oki is no saint but...I appreciate your concern and kindness, Jason."
She showed off- made a heart onigiri and set it with the others.

"Oh you're quite welcome. I'm not a saint either."
He said, eyebrow twitching. She made a heart shaped one. Damn it all! He wanted to make one. He just wasn't skilled enough to make it, which is sad. This made him look like he was inadequate at making onigiri. ONIGIRI. How hard could balls of freaking rice be?!
Show off.....
He was making triangles, rather than spheres, and ovals. He got the idea to make a pyramid, but then... Oki might fix it back into a triangle. Which would ruin a bit of fun, because he had thought about making a Sun God to stand on top of the pyramid, which would have been so cool. Oh well, let's stick with triangles.

Oki cocked an eyebrow- no being could be a saint. Even someone who was as kind and...produced the aura of safeness (as Jason did)- but everyone had a body rotting in the closet. She smiled, and showed him how to shape a pyramid- though it required no requests, she could see wheels turning in his head and it amused her. Using a little flavored red dye she smiled and formed a well practiced circle.
Mythology- tales and legends occasionally based on fact or tradition. She closed her eyes for a long moment and wrinkled her nose, "Best thing about onigiri is it's pliable- you can make almost any shape. Silly things like onigiri houses and such- requires much more patience."
Humming softly, Oki nodded, sighed, "How can...how would you go about telling four married and ...recently pregnant younger sisters about...something like this?"

"I wouldn't know how to tell them that. I'd be very careful about it. Make sure I'm financially stable... and mentally stable, and alright with the situation."
That's when he noticed. She was seeking the approval of her sisters, and she didn't know how to go about getting it in that situation. Even if she was an older sibling, she looked up at some of them. Which was kinda odd, though predictable. Jason smiled at her.
"The only person you have to seek approval from, is yourself. Are you alright with your overall status? Being pregnant, money, and how you feel? Something you need help with?"

Oki listened to him. He was very intelligent. Good heart- seemed to have true compassion.
She smiled softly at him, resting her hand on her stomach, "It...this is- it's difficult because it's hard...to accept I am alone in this...I may have friends but..." she looked at him carefully, "but Zack will not be here to see them. I think this bothers me the most, almost more than losing him."
Tears welled in the corner of her eyes, bleh- hormones and this business- what a pain.
She laughed, "As for money, Oki is set for life and beyond. Oki bets he didn't know she used to be a model- and her book is still selling all over the world." She gave a matter of fact nod, Oki Watari Nanda was the goddess of financial well being.
She shrugged, hugging herself for a short moment before returning to a casual stance, "Perhaps the only thing Oki would need...does need- is someone to be her accomplice...companion- is perhaps a better word." She wrinkled her nose, slightly embarrassed- she hated to admit she did actually need someone.
Mikon rolled over and purred loudly on the floor.

"Then you have to find a someone that will be your partner, companion. Whichever word you prefer."
He wasn't sure what to do now, he thought they had enough onigiri, and this sure was an awkward moment. All his education had just proven itself useless, as he had no idea what to do or really say right now. Aside from the advice that he had already given. He kinda looked blank, and stared off into space thinking to himself, about mom and home.
I wonder if she's making pasta?

She gave a small sighed, looking at him stare off, blushing lightly, her tone was very soft..not hearble to those in lala land- was she turned, "It'd be nice if I could call you either."
Shaking her head, Oki picked up the onigiri plate and set it in the already heated oven as to toast them. Hugging herself for a long moment, she nodded and closed her eyes. She shouldn't be reaching out for anyone- she was in mourning, she was supposed to be broken hearted about Zack...here she was reaching out for Jason. There had to be something wrong with her.
She sighed softly, began pulling out pots and pans, she'd make something Italian. Why not? Dion wasn't a picky eater and...they did have a guest.
