Right. The ammo. She felt like a dumb blonde, which made her laugh. Kate was anything but a dumb blonde. The girl smiled and looked back into the scope. Choosing a window, Kate took a deep breath. Then she fired, pulling the trigger with a slender finger.
"Dang it."
Too low. A frown appeared on her lips as she looked at where the bullet had hit. About half a foot below the window she had been aiming at. Her mouth twitched as she thought on why it had done that. Kate was concentrating on that, lost in her thoughts as she began to adjust her aim.

"How far below your target was that?"
He needed to adjust that particular scope still. He had only slapped it on when he got it, he didn't take the time to actually align it. This would be a good time to do that. All he had to do to adjust her aim for her, so that wherever she put the cross hairs it would hit. He got off the desk, and sat in the chair so that he could access it better without twisting himself. This meant he had to reach around her to get to it. But it was a better view and much easier for him anyway.
"I forgot to align that scope, sorry."
Yea... he was sorry.

Kate smiled, a quick little thing that was seemingly blaming him for her miss shot. All his fault!!! But in a cute way, as in she didn't really mean it. Instead she explained as he moved to adjust the scope.
"Half a foot low. I bet your good at this. You don't have a gun fetish or something right?"
Another little grin. Kate's eyebrows were arched and those green eyes were dancing. The blonde was having fun with this. Had she known he was a psychopathic man eating killer, things wouldn't have been different. This was Kate, and some things just didn't matter to her anymore. True, she'd probably faint or freak, but in the end she'd accept him for being himself, mass murderer and all. Who was she to judge anyone? Besides, she was biased for the face. When his arms reached around her she smiled, differently, with her face away from him. That was nice, but she kept the thought to herself.
"Maybe now I can shoot decently...and not like someone half drunk."

"Maybe. It's all in a bunch of simple steps that make the end result. Remember, keep it tight to your chest, and tight around the grip. Align all the cross hairs, and squeeze the trigger, don't pull."
That was right, many simple tasks could make a victory, or prove complete defeat. Now he waited for her to fire again, let all the pent up frustration and shit out. The rifle was set on single fire, but there was the semi-auto fire setting. She could always go berserk on the windows she was looking at, eventually she'd hit them and break them. It was pretty much a one thing or another sort of thing. She either hit or missed.
"No... I don't have a gun fetish..."

"You sure Vale? That was a lot of guns."
Kate grinned, aiming once again. She wasn't the type to go crazy and just keep shooting until she hit what she wanted. No. Not her style. The blonde would rather take her time and shoot correctly the first time than go crazy like that. Could kill innocents and the like.
The pale girl looked through the scope and aimed carefully this time around. She bit into her bottom lip and exhaled slowly. Her finger pulled the trigger. And this time the window shattered. The feeling was a rush that created a smooth smile. Who knew, if Kate really ended up liking shooting guns...she'd be the one with a gun fetish.
"Awesome."

"Quite positive."
He watched her line it all up. The sights, the window. She pulled the trigger. The explosion forced it out of the gun, and through the air. As it arched, it hit the window and went through it into the darkness of the building that had the window. She seemed to be enjoying herself. He was quite happy that she was enjoying herself. It seemed they did have some common interests. Excluding each other. Yes... they had common interests in each other.
"I'm glad you're having fun."

The blonde just stuck her tongue out at him. A childish way of teasing, sure, but it was still a sort of teasing. Her lips returned to their normal smile, and she began to line up the next shot. The window to the left of the last was her next target.
"Let me know when you want a turn Vale."
She felt wonderful. This might be a good birthday after all! Sitting around at his...well their's now, right? At the place in which they were both currently living, shooting useless windows out for fun. Not anything she had ever done before, but none the less something that was fun. Kate would have never thought about it, never would have. But that was where her and Vale differed. At least they both liked this.
"Wanna play some video games later?"
Fighting video games. Vale had seemed to like them back at New York. Back at 552. It had been a few years, but maybe he would still like them. And maybe he would still kick her ass at them. Oh well. He'd have fun, and that would make her happy.

"Sure, what games did you have in mind?"
He only owned a few game systems, they were in a box getting dusty. He could always clean them off and check to see if they still worked. They were the playstation2 and the xbox. He chopped the ps3 up because it was practically useless if not hooked up to the place's systems, so he used it as a multimedia processor, after ripping it's guts out and hacking it.
He watched her have her fun with the gun. It made him happy, as he could play with guns whenever he wanted, she hadn't known that he had the armory, and that those guns were accessible. In fact, he didn't think she'd like the idea of him having guns. First, he was a crazy man, and secondly, he was a soldier who happened to be crazy.

"I really don't care."
Kate really didn't care. Why? Because she honestly hadn't played video games in awhile. Just spending time with Vale, that was what she cared about. The blonde shot one more window out before sitting on the desk up right. She smiled at Vale, bright green eyes dancing.
"Wanna take a shot or two maybe?"
She was holding the gun out to him. At the school dance she had found out a few things. Vale cared about her, the same way she cared about him. That was really nice. Comforting, and while things would move very slowly along because the both of them, at least she knew the facts now. That would calm her down in most of her troubled moments. Why? Because that was just the way Kate was.

He shrugged and took the gun from her. From a standing position he tucked the weapon's butt into his shoulder, and raised it to his eye after tilting his head. From the scope he picked out a few windows and switched the rifle from automatic chambering, to manual chambering. he took the first shot, ejected the bullet by operating the bolt mechanism himself with his trigger hand, and then fired again, and then again.
He paused for a moment, letting the rifle smoke, then lowered it.
"It's not the same."
He ejected the last casing, and slung the weapon, then removed the magazine and picked up the box of ammunition. Reloading as he started walking towards the door. It wasn't the same as actually shooting people. It didn't give him the thrill of shooting as it used to. Had he become desensitized?
"C'mon, the systems are in a dusty box in my store room of stuff."
