Delilah's apartment; Kalidescope apartments, #702

[Rem]

He smiled again. "Oh don't worry, I intend to treat you very well. It's only right for a man to treat his girl well..." Rem trailed off when he noticed Delilah's neck. "Delilah...how'd you get that bruise..." He crept over to her side and sat there, closely scrutinizing the bruise.

[Delilah A. Black]

Her hand instictively flew to her neck, lightly touching the bruise left there by a clutching hand the night before. Delilah sighed. She had already told everyone who asked the same thing; "I was walking around late last night near the school, I know, stupid. I passed an alley, saw a shortcut, and went through. Next thing I know, some nasty drunks filthy hand was holding my neck against the wall and pointing a knife at my chin." Delilah rubbed her tattoo again, as if for comfort. "There were five of them...two high and three, including one of those two, drunk out their minds. I could smell alcohol on the breath of the guy who held me, but he didn't seem drunk.

He just asked me a bunch of questions, about the school, then the other three convinced him to..." she paused here for a moment. "Start...taking off my clothes..." The raven haired mechanic chuckled wistfully. "I snapped then. Lifted my knees into the guy holding me, beat the rest to a pulp when I got free..." She lifted her arms behind her head and stretched them. "Thats where I got the bruise."

[Rem]

Rem listened carefully to her story, his blood beginning to boil when he heard what had happened. Outwardly, he remained calm and slid an arm around her waist and pulled her toward him gently, being too short to put it around her shoulder. "I'm glad you're safe..." His voice was hushed. He was going to have to look into this...

[Delilah A. Black]

Delilah smiled a little, looking down at the hand on her waist before putting her own hand over his. "I'm glad you're glad." She replied softly. "I hospitalized them, for certain...but, they'd be out soon, if not already." She held up her left wrist, and showed him the tattoo on her pulse. maybe this'll put his mind at ease a little. "Know what this is?"

[Rem]

"I'm not sure how you want me to answer...but it looks like a tattoo..." He peered at it curiously.

[Delilah A. Black]

She chuckled a litle. "Yes, but its a tattoo of something; A Red-Wing Black bird...sorta like my hair." she gestured to the streaks of red in the back of her hair. "Why do you think I'd model myself after one, mm?"

[Rem]

Genuinely confused, he shook his head, afraid that she would consider this lack of knowledge a dealbreaker.

[Delilah A. Black]

She nodded. Most people didn't. She looked back at her tattoo. "These birds are small, and yet so stubborn and brave its astounding." Delilah said softly. "To defend their nest, they fight off hawks and falcons, even though they're more than twice the weight of the little birds. They pretty much fight to the death for that..." She trailed off and sighed, turning her eyes to the ceiling. "That perserverance, that will to survive, protect, improve...that's what they stand for. And who better to model yourself after than nature?" Delilah turned her gazw back to Rem, an embarrassed flush dotting her cheeks. "Silly, huh?"

[Rem]

He shook his head and gave her a look of genuine admiration. She seemed to be opening up to him a bit more than before, which made him feel honored. "Wow, that is profound to say the least. Lilah-chan~" Turning his eyes away from her face, he nodded and brought a hand up, gathering his Qi into his fist. The result: quite a few sparks of electricity surged through the balled hand. "It's nature that inspired this..."

[Delilah A. Black]

Delilah blinked. "'Lilah-chan'?" She was familliar with japanese honorables, but scarcely heard them used. She smiled at this term of endearment and looked over to his clenched, sparking fist. Delicate, black eyebrows rose. She'd been in enough fights to recognize Qi. "So...you have electricity as your Qi." She looked at her own hands. Delilah had yet to unleash hers. She supposed she needed a serious situation to call it forth.

[Rem]

He nodded. "It wasn't really by choice...just sorta happened that way..." He opened his hand out and then clenched it into a fist, dissipating the electricity into nothingness. "I'm sure you can tell from my stature and frank nature that I've probably seen my share of bullies..."

[Delilah A. Black]

She nodded at that. It was the proverbial 'pick on the guy a head shorter than you'. "People are foolish to assume height begets strength," Delilah commented, her eyes still on his raised hand. "I'd assume so. But, it doesn't seem to bother you now."

[Rem]

"Meh~ Well you learn to deal in other ways. I've actually just mastered my Anime Style Martial Arts. That combined with my Qi...was enough to get me through middle school." Rem pulled her a little closer.

[Delilah A. Black]

Anime Martial Arts? Thats news to me.... She nodded at his explanation, and lifted her eyebrows when he pulled her closer. Delilah turned her gaze to him and gave him a sly smile. "is this one of those ways?" She asked in a purring tone, dropping her eyelids a little so they appeared hooded.

[Rem]

Rem cast her a sidelong glance, accompanied in kind by the tiniest of smirks. "Maybe~"
