"Meh...b-but they're so...soft.." He didn't have the strength even to resist her pushing him away. The pain that cycled through his body at that instant made him grind his teeth. "Guh...I guess that monster didn't kill me after all..." Rem sighed and gave a lack-luster laugh. "Ah, well. If anything I should be grateful...I got to see my Lilah-chan in her underwear.."

She had to smile further at his comment, but it was half-hearted. She sighed and ran a hand through her black hair, her fingers passing through the twin streaks of red. Delilah took a glass off the bedside table at her right and lifted it to his lips. "Drink." she said softly. "And while you're at it, tell me why you went...after him?"

He had little choice but to drink and he did, eagerly. After a few gulps, he sighed, avoiding her gaze by tilting his head to the side. "No-one gets away with hurting my girl, is all..."

Delilah's expression softened, and she, gently, put a hand on his. "Rem..." she looked down at the covers. "That's...so sweet, but...I don't want you to get injured on my behalf." She looked back at him, blue eyes starinig at the side of his head, as he was turned away. "yeah, I got hurt, but you...you nearly died Rem..."

"Psh! This!" He attempted to lift an arm, but the pain caught him halfway through the movement and he yelped. "It's...nothing..." Taking deep breaths, he managed a smile. "Yeah, he was tough...it was a totally one-sided match." Rem shrugged. "I got my ass handed to me...but..." He turned to face her once more. "I'd do it again if it meant keeping you safe, alright?"

She looked a little bemused at his effort, but there were tears in her eyes. "I don't want you hurt again because of me..." she repeated softly, looking down into his eyes. "I mean it Rem...I won't let this happen to you again...just seeing you like this hurts me more than that psycho did."

"Lilah-chan..." Rem kept his eyes on her, slightly bewildered and confused at the tears in her eyes. Ever since his parents died, no one had ever been worried about him like this, not even his own little sister. Though it was like he'd wanted the attention before... "I'm sorry...I made you worry..." There was a sincere look of concern in his eyes. "I can't promise I won't try to protect you again...but I can promise that I won't...over do it..."

After a pause, Delilah nodded faintly, smiling. "Thats all I ask..." she replied, brushing half heartedly at her eyes. She took a deep breath. Now wasn't the time to get all weak and sappy...Rem needed her. "Anything you want right now?"

At that, Delilah grinned and brought a hand to her forhead, chuckling lightly. "I shoulda known...I guess that little battle didn't addle your lechery at all." She shook her head tauntingly at him. "No~, you're still hurt...what I'd so would probably kill you."

"Then I'd die a thoroughly happy and fulfilled man." He gave her a bright grin and then almost just as suddenly sighed, thinking back to his fight...if it could even be called a fight...with that man. He'd been so powerless... So weak... "There's one thing I do want though... When I get better. I want you to train with me. I want us both to get as strong as we can...." Then...maybe we'd both be able to take that guy on at least...

"Well, I don't know how long I'd been stuck down in those sewers..." Right on cue, his stomach growled. "But...it seems I haven't eaten since before then....quite frankly I'm really hungry!" Rem chuckled nervously and then added. "Though, I wouldn't mind the shower first, if you shower with me..." Actually, given his condition, it seemed highly unlikely that he could even stand on his own, let alone take a shower.

Delilah rolled her eyes heavenward again, and nodded her head, looking him up and down. "Given your condition...I'll agree to your last request; if I leave you in there by yourself, you'll drown. But first, lemme put something in the oven to eat when you...we...get out, alright?"

"Hey, it seems being beaten within an inch of my life has some benefits after all..." Rem was being slightly sarcastic, but he did like the way she corrected herself in her last sentence. "Alright, m'lady."
