Emily hung around on the sidewalks next to the Kaleidoscope Apartments. Well, somehow... while searching for members to join Winters's cause, she ran into a bit of information : her brother was still in Long beach, in this area. Interesting how he practically doesn't show up.
Then again, she kicked him out of the house.
Well, Emily LIKES her space.... and really, the other room was her production area for Manga, so even if she wanted to... she'd rather not have him in...
... and no, him sleeping in her room isn't a good alternative.
He just has to stop slacking off and get a job for himself... maybe actually work his way towards a place to stay. Independent guys are a big turn on for most girls...
... well, most.
She sighed, watching cars go by as she sat there, waiting.

Rem, wearing his signature black hoodie with the arms ripped off and a pair of baggy pants that looked as though it had mated with zippers and chains, and skater shoes, sauntered out of the apartment building with an air of contentment. He looked around a bit and then noticed his sister loitering, waiting for him exactly where she had asked him to meet her. He didn't know what to think. She had kicked him out of her apartment, leaving him homeless. He would be lying if he'd said that he didn't begrudge her somewhat. Rem walked up to his sister and simply nodded. "Speak."

Emily sighed, and turned her head to the right a bit, so that she could look at her brother. "Rem..." she started, "When I kicked you out, it doesn't mean that you're not allowed make any sort of contact with me."
She finally stood, facing him with a smile and crossed arms. "I'm come back from Japan." she said, "It's been a while, hmm?"

"Okaerinasai." Rem gave her the traditional japanese return greeting and dug his hands into his pants pockets. "Let's skip the pleasantries. I'm not happy with you at the moment. What do you want?"

Emily chuckled and sighed, well... her brother has a grudge on her... well, it's all or nothing.
"I need you to join a gang with me, nii-san." she told him, "I need your abilities and strength."
From here on, Rem could notice the difference between Emily a few months back and Emily right now. She was a lot more emotional and definitely a lot more stable than she normally was.
Right now, she's got nothing to lose. Rem would be a good ally to have; he has great interpersonal skills, strong fighting skills... it's best she asked him to join first for Winter's cause.

Rem burst out laughing. "You? Join a gang?!" He leaned forward to try to catch his breath, wheezing with more laughter. He settled down a few seconds later. Rem had indeed noticed a subtle difference in his sister; exactly what that difference was, he couldn't tell, but it was there. "You're serious aren't you?" He folded his arms and observed her for a few seconds. "Why exactly are you joining this gang, baby sister?'

"You? Join a gang?!" Emily's eyes twitched as her brother fell into a not-so-surprising fit of laughter. She couldn't blame him... after all, he hasn't seen much of how she changed exactly.
"You're serious aren't you?"
"Do you think I'm not?"
"Why exactly are you joining this gang, baby sister?"
Emily's eyes stabilized themselves and stopped twitching. Well, she became serious all right. "It... may not be much of a reason... but... I have a... friend... whom has declared war upon the School Captain." she told him, "If this guy wants change, then I want to help him as much as I can!"
Well, she knew the reason... but she'd rather that Unfettered told him about it himself. After all, no one can truly understand something via word of mouth. It was best she'd lead him to the source...
IF he lets her, that is.

Rem allowed himself another quick chuckle, though it was rather half-hearted.
"I don't know, that's why I was asking."
He felt a bit angsty about the fact that his parents must be rolling in the graves at how far apart he and Emily had become.
"It... may not be much of a reason... but... I have a... friend... whom has declared war upon the School Captain. If this guy wants change, then I want to help him as much as I can!"
"You talk a lot about change. This, that and the other. Quite frankly, I couldn't possibly care any less about your friend's plight. It's not my business. But what has gotten me curious, baby sister, is why you thought to ask me for such a thing?"

"Whatever." she said, walking defeated towards her apartment.
"It's not my business. But what has gotten me curious, baby sister, is why you thought to ask me for such a thing?"
Emily heaved a sigh as she stopped in her tracks. "You are strong, unlike me." she told him in all honesty, "as much as I want to be strong; I'm not ... at the moment... and as such I'll need you with us. Most I can do to help the group is gather information... and that's all I probably could."
Emily blushed inwardly as she crossed her arms, thinking she was probably a little dramatic. Well, the scene was pretty dramatic...
Her parents would probably slap her in the head for becoming like this... but... she felt like she had to; it was this, or becoming Kari, completely. "...I-I just needa ye-yes, or a no, Rem." her voice managed to squeak out, cracking in place of hiding tears.
Now she felt like a crybaby.

Rem remained silent after she sent this. So, she was serious after all. Not only that, she seemed pretty adamant about it.
"...I-I just needa ye-yes, or a no, Rem."
At that, his face's expression lengthened into one of an extremely sly, or rather, lecherous grin. The thought he'd just had amused him in only a way a big brother's thought could.
"You...have got a crush on this guy... I don't believe it. You've actually got a crush on someone!"

Emily turned around and faced her brother, "A... crush?" she queried, having no idea what it means... "... I have a crush?"
Emily's gaze fell to the floor, "Is that what... I feel?" she muttered to herself, sounding all confused. Well, Rem knows very well that Emily was new to several emotions, and was certainly not familiar with infatuation, or love.
"How do you tell if it's... a crush...?" she asked, eager for an answer.

"... it is...?" She said, "... W-Wait a sec, we're not talking about me or my crush. I'm talking about you joining. Are you in or out, Rem?" Her voice was firm now, despite the blush on her cheeks. Darn bigger brothers and their teasing.

Rem considered this request for a second, having some new factors to take into account.
"Well, now I'm interested in the guy my baby sister's all googly-eyed over."
He cocked his head slightly. He was still worried. Emily, in a gang? Sure, he could see that she'd changed... but, again, how? He slammed his left fist into his right palm and grinned.
"I'm going to have to give you a condition to fulfill. You're going to have to beat your big brother up and drag him to this gang with you. After all, if my girlfriend heard that I willingly joined a gang...the results wouldn't be pleasant."

"Very well." She said, twisting her foot a bit as a stretch, "Heh... not if she joins the gang as well... oh right, you've yet to introduce me to her."
Emily walked out of the building and into the sidewalk, doing some final stretches before anything else.
