This was better then Mathew could have hoped for! Leon was backing off. It didn't matter what for because it was time for Mathew to unleash another skill he had that he has yet to use on Leon. And with his back turned and him stumbling around blind now was the perfect time to do this.
Mathew would get up quickly before taking in Leon and the direction that he was heading. Not that it made any difference to him. Back when Mathew started school in New York he often found himself out classed by strong fighters that could rip him to shreds. Naturally the only option was to not get caught.
Reaching down to pick up several sharp rocks that had broken in Mathew's collision with the earth he would wind up before launching them one after the other at the back of Leon's head. It was time for some ranged fighting now!

That sound, the whistle, the slight hum. You know those triggers. Things that cause you to remember events in your life be them big or small. Something you see, something you smell, and something you hear. He knew this sound and immediatly, brought the metal plate on the back of his glove up blocking the noise, a nice ping coming off it saying it was solid and thrown feckin hard. But it wasn't just that one, his ears picked up another in time for him to step out of the way. He kept backing up till he felt it. The tickle in the back of his neck, he was within range of the clock tower. Immediatly Leon's body began to glow as he tapped into that endless supply of power. Lights in the school began to flicker.
This was the true power Leon possessed. He'd suck the energy in, as a spark went as a circle around his feet, up his legs and body into his fist, he would force it to his fingers like a tesla coil, and he would fling the electricity from his body by throwing around the different charges, as soon as the positively charged electrons reached the tip of his fingers he made his skin and everything else besides the tips of his fingers also positively charged therefore expelling it from his body through his fingers in a stream at Mathew.

You know when you are really bored at night and you decide to watch the same movie over and over because you are too lazy to get up and change the movie? Mathew like many American's has done that at least once in his life and with the movie star wars no less. The lightning coming out of Leon's fingers reminded him of the Emperor from Return of the Jedi when he shot lightning at Luke Skywalker. If Leon was the Evil and ugly Emperor did that make Mathew the handsome if permanently virgin Luke Skywalker? Hell no! He was more like the clever and sexy Han Solo if anything and unlike Luke Mathew was not about to stand around and get shocked!
Mathew would dive over to the left to avoid the lightning blasts being shot at him before he started to rush at Leon ready to once again go to the side to avoid the inevitable blast as he made his way closer to the blond boy.

Leon was standing up straight now. The side effects of obsorbing electricity from an outside source was the overload of electrical impulses to the brain that changed him back into the old him, way back to his freshman year. That demon Leon The Lightning Strike. He cared for nothing else, his emotions where gone, his thought process gone, and slowly but surely he would be able to open his eyes. His body still glowing, the hair on his head, which was usually spikey, was now insanely spikey. It was like every hair folicul wanted away from his head. They where all ready to abandon ship at a moments notice.
His hand went out again finding Mathew through his electric impulses and "locking on" via previousely explained method. But he would wait, Mathew would be there in due time. Which meant he could really give Mathew a jolt to the system. But so as to not make that obviouse he would make it seem like he was trying to hit him by firing small bursts, keep him on his toes. While keeping the real charge at hand. A method of fighting, or a tactic rather used a while back against Hiroko Katashi may have to be used again.

Did Mathew think Leon was holding back? Of course the kid was a fighter and new Mathew could out last him if he rushed things. He would be stupid to throw it all at him. Mathew knew Leon was waiting for him to get close to really strike. Did that make a difference? No it did not. Mathew couldn't hit him if he couldn't get near him. The rocks proved that. It meant that his only option was pain. He would end up getting badly hurt by the end of the fight, he knew that. But it was a small price to pay in the long run. He was going toe to toe with one of the big wigs on the site. He would propel himself from unknown transfer student to one of the largest threats in a matter of no time and that was the whole point of this. Winning wasn't important except for his own ego. In a way he had already cleared his objective and was just going for brownie points now.
Still Leon may be holding back but Mathew wasn't going to take unneeded damage and thus would dodge the small bursts of lightning being shot at him. Jumping out of the way or out running them leaving small craters in his wake. He felt the eyes of the gathered crowd on them many in disbelief at what they were seeing but those people he didn't care about. The people that mattered were taking this in. Studying it. Learning about him. Those were the only people that mattered.
Mathew was getting close to Leon but he wasn't going to just rush in. He had to find an opening. He knew that as soon as he hit Leon he would be shocked like before so he would have to make the blow count. In the mean time he would continue to dodge the small bolts of lightning as he tried to put the clock tower between him and Leon.

"Why don't we give the crowed a real charge."
An insane smile instantly crafted itself across his face, as he cracked at his own pun. As weak as the joke was it was alittle good for the moment. Leon bent his arm inward, folding his fingers inward to make a cage with his palm, a glimmer within his hand he would thrash his arm out harshly extending his fingers at the same time, causing a field of energy within the slash motion to burst outward. It was the electric version of the stardust, or the sand throwing Mathew showed earlier.
It was aimed to cut Mathew off, and make him change direction, but the next one was horizontal. He had used it when Hiroko had him by the throat, and held towards the cieling. His Qi wasn't as powerful back then as it was now and he was only able to take electricity from the light he was held next to, and he spreyed the electricity on Hiroko's face only irritating the guy.

Mathew only had one real option left, Leon didn't want him putting the tower between them obviously or he wouldn't have blocked his path. He could break through the electrical stardust true but that would just be inviting him to do something much more painful. Mathew would grab the flap of his coat and pull it up to shield himself with it to protect himself from the irritating stardust as he changed directions to charge at Leon. Visibility was hindered but he could still see from part of his coat and this way if Leon shot him the coat wasn't would absorb a good deal of the charge.
He knew that it was unlikely that he would get out of this unsinged but he had a plan and he hoped to god it would work. Needless to say the Earth Dragon was about to stop playing around and use his element like Leon was using his. And just like Leon his element came in abundant sources. The very ground beneath their feet.

As the fight raged in the bodily form, the mind of the one known as Leon Sudeki was gone. Trapped in a loop of the past. Rewinding to the times he has woken up in a hospital, each time fiewer and fiewer people would be at his bed side, or even bother to visit when he woke up. In the beginning it was everyone, if one of the group got hurt everyone would be there. Saito, Akira, Endrin, Celeste, Athalia, Elys, and sometimes Ark. Though not all of them where in the group, Ark being one of Leon's.... Friends/rivals? Not associated with the others, but he did show up sometimes. But as Leon faught more and more, less and less of his friends would be there for him. It was just another day for him to be going to the hospital, till that last heart attack, Elys and Saito where there when it happened, there when his heart stopped completely. Seeing his true scars. The real damage hidden under the cloths, and mask of a face, that smile he wears.
It was when Elys left to get something from home that Saito spoke to him. His words and tone where seriouse, and Leon's face was just that sitting in that hospital bed. His words still hung heavy on his mind.
"Leon, you can't keep fighting like this... I know you, I know you will never stop, but to go so far, to push yourself so hard... You want to start a family with Eurydice, right? What would of happened to her if that was it? You think she would be happy with you dead?!"
That had been why Leon had spent so long trying not to fight here. To stay away from it all, but now it was hard, Eury was in a coma, and Leon's son to be died. It was harder now, his thoughts where not focused like they had been, but in the instant that he remembered Eurydice, the light around his body faded. And the firing stopped, once again the real him came back. No more side effects from obsorbing more energy than his brain could handle, he had gotten himself out of that mess. That sadistic smile went away, and Mathew was on the charge. Leon knew that if this fight went on, then it would be much worse.
he threw down his gloves, a tear vaporizing as he bent his knees low, the light came back, only so much more intense, the way one would see his body would even be distorted, as if the acceleration was too great for the human eye to look at. Energy poored off his body, and his mind flashed to how intensely he has been training. The image of the gravity room on full power, 5X the earths natural gravity, making himself alone way over 700 pounds. Blood sweat and tears, he trained harder than he ever had for one purpose.
"Saito, now I have more reason to fight than ever. If I can't beat the best fighters in the world, how am I supposed to protect her?"
That's when his body exploded forward ripping up the ground behind him, this was the beginning. Moving at speeds only matched by Ark, he would dart forward, dropping to all fours, he would send his right leg up into Mathew's gut, to send him air borne. Before Mathew would even reach the peak of assension Leon would be in the air waiting, in a spin as he would send his left heel around to kick Mathew back at the ground.

Ambition. Every person on the planet has it, the only difference was the amount of ambition that someone had. For some people being rich, being strong, being happy was what they wanted. They wanted to have a good family, protect the ones that they loved, but that wasn't enough for Mathew. It never had been. It was never about being the strongest fighter, it was never about protecting those close to him. For Mathew the only thing that mattered was the moment. Whatever whim he had at the time he thrust his whole being in to. People couldn't understand that though. They couldn't respect that. For one person to be happy someone else must be unhappy, the world is made up of conflicting goals and Mathew had the ambition... the drive... the resolve to make sure that his interests no matter what they were would always be fulfilled.
Continuing on his charge he saw the power around Leon fade and thats when he chose to strike. It didn't matter what the reason was or what was coming the fact of the matter was this was his chance. Before the gloves came off Mathew would start a slide that tore up the ground as he passed. A large hunk of the Earth it self was hurtling at Leon with Mathew close behind. The Earth Dragon is not one to be trifled with and he would outlast his fellow Dragon. He would succeed.

A battle cry erupted from Leon as he darted, almost a complete blur, black lines in motion with a gold tint. But rock was kicked up before his attack could reach, His attack connecting with the boulder, he'd throw alot of the electricity he was generating into his kick, the boulder would explode into dust and small shards, but Leon wouldn't be on the other end anymore, he had jumped to the side using the explosion and huge flash, plus the dust as cover, so he could get away, his momentum hitting a tree so hard he left foot prints, and as he would kick off, the tree would snap and fall over, the momentum from this would be visible in even the air around him.
His good arm would be reached back and sent forward, there was no reason to hide it, the speed and power being thrown into it would probably be more than previousely seen, only problem? It would last much longer, the electricity was building up, he could feel it, there was about to be a loud finish. It didn't matter how this punch worked out, if Leon didn't get his gloves back on everyone in the immediate area would need medical attention. Then as if on repeat, something he said to someone else came back to him. He could hear it in his head as his fist would go flying for Mathew's head.
'Ever seen a short circuit?'

Sparks flaring, loud noises resembling earthquakes...
This was 259.
And two people whom she had never seen before was duking it out so fiercely... Emily would kill to one day be that strong.
Luckily from her, she was quite a distance from the fight... she was on top of the building right next to the courtyard... and though she could barely see the faces on her own and had to have a set of binoculars to see the fight clearly, she found herself to be... very exhilarated in the battle she was just witnessing.
... If she could just convince one of them to join Militia... or maybe have one of them train her to become that powerful,... or maybe both?
The thought brought shivers down her spine. Yes... that would be great.
"This fight is about to end..." she concluded, watching closely with the set of binoculars she had.

Throwing up his arms to shield himself from the dust and debris that seemed to explode from the point of their impact. Mathew's body would slide backwards propelled from the mutual impact of their blows. Not waiting for the dust to settle Mathew would dive to the side in case Leon was charging at him already. However the blow never came, Leon was no longer in front of them and to the Earth Dragon that meant only one thing.
From behind!
He didn't even wait to see if his thought was correct as he balled his fist turning while sending his punch forward so that it would slam in to Leon if his hunch was right. As he turned he saw a flash of yellow hair and his own hair started to stand up from the static electricity in the air, his eyes widened in slight shock as he felt his fist collide with Leon's stomach a split second before he felt Leon's charged fist slam in to Mathew's face.
He let out a large grunt of pain as he went flying back from the force of the punch slamming in to a tree so hard that the trunk made a snapping sound as it cracked from the blow. His head would slam in to the trunk causing his vision to blur as the blast from Leon's Qi filled the courtyard sending shock after shock through his system and that of anyone else that was near. He bit down on his lip determined not to cry out and considered it a small victory that the only sounds he made were loud grunts of pain. Slowly the pain started to go away and he would just sit there under the tree willing his muscles to move.
He couldn't at first though. Then slowly he started to pick himself up and slowly limp to Leon's prone form. The fight was over. It was obvious to everyone, but despite what most people might think of their relationship after seeing the fight Mathew had no ill will for Leon. In fact in this place Leon was pretty much the only friend that he had. Other then that he was surrounded by enemies. Still friendship was no reason to not pursue your goals and ambitions and thats why Mathew was willing to fight Leon if he needed to. And being thought of as strong is just as important as being strong. He had to use Leon to show these kids that he was not to be messed with, it would save him time and energy in the long run.
Assuming Leon wasn't already picking himself up or getting ready to attack him Mathew would continue limping over to his fellow Dragon before slowly bending down making a small grunt of pain from the movement before picking lifting him up. After all this was a reunion between friends and a celebration was needed. Just thinking of the fact that he wasn't alone here and had one person he could trust made him smile. Not his normal cocky grin but a legitimate smile, almost as if he was a happy person.... almost.
