Lance roamed the halls outside the Ana-Physio class for quite some time. Continually, he kept passing by the class with no regard to it's existence. Scratching his bluish silver hair he pondered the room number once more as he tried to remember.
He had left his important schedule sheet in his room.
Cursing silently, he began to feel quite awkward as classes started all around him. Then-...
"Since this class will be quite mentally tasking, I took the liberty of making pre-made notes that is right there on the blue folder. Please do not touch, peek or even think of checking out any of the pink folder's contents."
Ah! That sounded like a promising class! Then- followed the short sentence about the whole genital business. Definitely the AP Anatomy/Physiology class. Turning on his heel, Lance jogged into the room and hesitantly stepped in. The atmosphere here seemed a bit....tense. Turning to the teacher, Lance bowed once before saying
"I'm sorry i'm late- I promise it won't happen again."
He looked up slowly, as if expecting a harsh blow to drop from the forsaken heavens above to repirmand him for his lack of punctuality. In a quieter voice he added
"My name's Lance Wespin...er..."
One of the few aspects about this school which frightened him were the teachers. They proved to be monstrously strong, intelligent, and overall superhuman.

(OOC: The link to the notes doesn't work for me) *FLICKER* I give Emily a smile and turn my attention to the teacher as she starts speaking, question left unanswered. Ready or not, here we go. *FLICKER* It strikes me as odd that a doll is qualified to assist in instructing a class, even a talking one. I wonder whether he is paid his own salary, and whether he had to apply for his position. I can just picture the resume: "Polyester exterior, nylon stitching, machine washable, good with kids..." *FLICKER* I open the drawer, as per the teacher's instructions. The two folders lay within, the pink and the blue, adjacent in position, dichotomous in shade but contiguous in importance. Inside the blue notebook are the promised notes. As a quick skim I discern that they are long on content but also on description and clarity. Ideal for studying. I take it as a sort of providence that we are handed this synopsis rather than required to manually prepare our own notes; mine tend to be short on content and long on doodles and wasted space. I learn through verbal and visual association, not from writing things down. My hand twitches at the mysterious pink one. In the book, the Blue had been Patricia and the Pink had been Blaine, but it had been Blaine who brought death. I think better of it and push the drawer shut, leaving the pink folder hidden away from temptation.

A friendly smile. Just what Emily needed to lift her spirits.
Things had been pretty hostile, nowadays. At least there were people who still CAN smile at her despite her decision to join the Militia.
ANYWAYS!
"Ready for this?"
Emily smiled. "Yeah, I'm ready-"
.. and them Shinichi snapped at the class, telling them to shut it and listen. Introductions went on, until the point when Layla revealed the location of two folders on her desk drawers. As ordered, picked up the blue folder an ignored the pink one.
... and now, she waited for the actual lecture to start with excitement. This class will be fun!

A soft chuckle of disbelief escaped the pillar as the bizarre appeared from under the teacher’s desk and joined the class. This class was getting weirder and weirder… from the scream, which was followed by a fellow student doing a face plant and the little… thing?! Floating?! Ok… weird was a severe understatement right now. With a quick shake of his head Saint refocused his attention on the actual class and the information the teacher was imparting, not the… other stuff.
Saint took out the blue folder, leaving the pink alone as instructed, and scanned over the pre-made notes that were within. He thought it quite nice of the teacher to make the notes for them. Of course, he placed the materials inside the cover on the notebook he had specifically for this class as the plushie man threatened the students with dismemberment should they disobey directions. Ok… this begged the question of how this Shinichi would be able to carry out such a threat, after all he was only a stuffed man… right? At this point Saint wasn’t really sure of what was going on in the class and figured it would be better if he didn’t try to. Now he waited for the lecture to begin.

Delilah looked up in alarm when the behemoth with spikes for hair jumped up and started to run around the room. She watched with large, surprised eyes and blinked as the crazy guy with the bandanna on his face dropped the psycho act and became docile, telling his peers to not call the cops again...
Again?!
She sighed in an exasperated way, not seeing how this could get anymore insane...when Arim shreiked in terror and Yahto ended up face first on the floor. Delilah looked down at the chinese/native kid and suddenly grinned. "Heheheheh~..."
Turning back to the front of the room, Delilah did as she was told (for once), though her curious nature had her thinking about the pink folder. She raised an eyebrow at it and struggled to resist the temptation to look. Instead, she focused ahead of her, one hand propping up her head as she attained a bored look, her pencil flicking from side to side as she attempted to focus her thoughts from the pink folder.
It wasn't working...

((OOC: Zomg! thats a crud load of notes >.<))
Masaru silently takes a look at the blue folders contents, not even hesitating with the pink folder. He has heard of tricks generals played on thier soldiers to test thier obedience in the medieval days. Either giving them useless orders or telling them not to do a certain thing to see thier worth, usually when a leader says to not do something, they are trying to use reverse psychology while having hidden traps in the path that they told you not to use. So, back to class: Masaru checks the folders contents, realizing he already kinda skimmed through these subjects when he was tutored. Having no questions, Masaru waits for the teacher to carry on with the class

AND WILL HAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH MS. CLAVERING and MRS. WINKLEWOOD MS. EISENKASTEN!
8DD
Okay, lets begin.
And Masaru, yes. It's a crud full of notes. It's one day of my Anaphysio class last sem. Amazing huh? XD Professors don't wait for us either. @__@ I really need a digital recorder... "I'm sorry i'm late- I promise it won't happen again. My name's Lance Wespin...er..." Layla turned towards the student and smiled. "You may sit beside Masaru-kun, Ransu-kun." Shinichi said, pointing towards an empty desk. "Now to continue~!"The woman closed her eyes and sat on a chair on the middle of the class (where she was the main center of attention) before two chalks began doodling a frontal image of the body from the front with as much detail as possible. "Now, class. Anatomy and Physiology is a simple class. You have notes, so there's no excuse for you to fail it. I only require you to pay attention and keep quiet unless I ask you to answer a question."
A smile. "What is Anatomy? What is Physiology?" she started. "How different are they? Anatomy is basically the study of the structure of the human body and parts... while Physiology concentrates more on how it functions in itself, and it's relation to the rest of the body. Usually, artists concentrate on the study of Anatomy... while which medical professionals take in a lot more Physiology. It's quite simple and easy to understand if you've taken a Biology class the previous year."
"Now for some questions."
"Rem. Please tell me the difference between Gross anatomy and Microscopic Anatomy and cite examples."She turned to Emily, her patient and somewhat the girl she treated as her own daughter, and feigned a mischievous grin. Rather out of character for her, but she knew that this girl would be able to answer her question, being somewhat her 'assistant' for a little while back in Japan. "Well, Cris." she started, calling Emily by her the name that she only let the closest people to her call her by, "Let's start by skipping the huge list of the human body system and head to page 17. There, we see that the eight important body functions are: Maintenance of boundaries, Movement, Responsiveness, Digestion, Metabolism, Excretion, Growth, and Reproduction. Tell me, old student of mine, if you still remember what this Maintenance of boundaries and movement is and give me a few body parts that show these functions."Shinichi then quickly floated to Delilah's desk and pointed at her with a stubbed hand, "Nyaa, for you: What is the difference between Digestion, Metabolism, and Excretion and it's connection to one another... Surely enough, you know that this mostly centers around the Digestive system, but why? How are they related?"A quick float over to the pillar-student, "And Sir Flowery-man, please share to us what you know about the function of Growth and Reproduction in the life of a human."
"Sir Gruffy-san. There are 5 important things the body requires to maintain normal function. Can you cite me a few and give your opinion as to why they are important?"The plushie jumped off Delilah's desk, making a quick hover to Masasru's desk and "crossed it's arms", seemingly looming over him with authority. "Now Masa-sa, tell me what you know about the word : Homeostasis."
"AND YOU. Mr. Noisy-shaky pants." The plush doll said, turning quickly towards Letz Shake. "..."... "You know, desu. You don't look like you can answer anything. Okay, a simple question. Water is how much of a person's body weight?"A sigh would be heard from Layla and she turned to Arim and Yahto. "Mr. Fang explain to us what Negative feedback is. Ms. Arim, will explain to us what Postive Feedback is."
"AND AS FOR MR. LATE-MAN." Shinichi basically screamed, turning towards Lance. "I give you a MINUTE to tell me just why Negative feedback is better than Positive Feedback."Okay. These questions might be a little hard, but the point here in this class of mine is to be able to share the things I've learned IRL OOC in class to you guys via your characters. If there's anything you want to have explained, don't hesitate to PM my Emily account and ask. If you have your own questions, Reira will be more than happy to answer them! Reira doesn't expect perfect answers, just tell her what you know from what you've seen in the file I've attached in her last post.

"Rem. Please tell me the difference between Gross anatomy and Microscopic Anatomy and cite examples."
"Eek! Dammit, it figures..."
Rem rose to his feet immediately as the teacher called on him, a remnant of his high school days in Japan. Rem knew nothing of anatomy save for its uses in the bedroom. Though... he did remember having a class on this stuff back in his native country.
"Um... I know this... don't tell me.... don't tell me...."
Having to sift through the humongous clump of random anime/manga/video game trivia stored in his brain, he soon had an epiphany.
"Aha!"
The word microscopic was extremely obvious, so...gross... would be...
"Err...Gross anatomy is the study of anatomy with respect to things you can see with the naked eye, and Microscopic is pretty much the opposite, I believe."

Emily griped at Layla calling her Cris in public. Aye... "Maintenance of boundaries is... for example, the subcutenous layers of fat covering every organ, providing some sort of separation from the other organs... this includes the skin... which acts as a barrier between the internal organs and the outside environment. Boundaries provide protection against any sort of possible damage and prevents juvenile wear-and-tear. Movement is, in general, movement regarding the use of the muscular system and the bone. They are important in terms of survival, otherwise... we'll be like putty and be no different from vegetables."
The girl sighed and looked at her notes, flipping through it as if she'd been here before.

Delilah blinked at teh plushie ma-bob, and tilted her head slooowly to the side. "What the heck?" Then..it asked her a question.
"Nyaa, for you: What is the difference between Digestion, Metabolism, and Excretion and it's connection to one another... Surely enough, you know that this mostly centers around the Digestive system, but why? How are they related?"
Delilah stared blankly for a moment, temporarily forgetting about the pink folder (and oh, how she wanted to open it), then started, "Oh, uh...digestion is the, uh, when food is broken down for nutrients and absorbtion, which takes place in the uh..." she snapped her fingers vaugely. "SMALL INTESTINE!" She remembered suddenly. She continued with much more confidence than she felt before. "Metabolism is the rate at which your body breaks down a substance. This is characterized by enzymes in the saliva, stomach acid, small intesting, gallbladder/liver, and the large intestine. The higher your metabolic rate, the faster you can absorb food, and the more trim you'll be. The lower, and..." she shrugged, as if that spoke for itself. "Excretion is ridding the body of 'extras', such as water, salts, and hydrogenated/transfat. It's...all just a part of digestion. You can't have one without any of them because you need enzymes to break down the food and the excetory system to get rid of it." She exhaled deeply, smiling a little to herself. She never thought in her life that she would remember.

Slightly thrown off by being addressed as ‘Sir Flowery-man’ Saint blinked for a moment before collecting everything he could to answer.
“Growth allows a person to become more capable of surviving in their environment, on a molecular level it is the multiplication of cells through division. It is a process that begins at conception all the way beyond death. Reproduction is the process in which genetic material is passed on to a new generation thus propagating the species.”
Of course Saint could have gone into specifics about the second topic but he didn’t think that appropriate. The greater effect was that detail of that subject made him insanely uncomfortable, insanely being the operative term considering his own past and mental state.

Not even 5 minutes into class...
...And Letz Shake fell asleep.
Completely ignoring the chatter around him, the tall punk laid his head back over the edge of the chair and snored like a seagull that just flew into a blender.
"AND YOU. Mr. Noisy-shaky pants."
The sound of his name being called didn't seem to phase him, however it did seem to bring out a few incoherent and random phrases.
"Oooh... Ooooh...
Zis beink good time.
Happy stick so happy!
OH!
OH!
DELILAH!?
ARIM TOO!?!"
............................
I think we all know where this is going.
However the sound of a question being called made his head snap forward with a wide, shocked expression. The tall, lanky man looked at the plushy and sighed before leaning back in his chair and propping his feet up on the desk, his gaze shifting to a few girls in the room. "Joo intruptink Letz Shake's happy place! He voos havink happy dream, happy moist dream. Heeheehee". However he returned his attention to the question, "Vot!? Can't I be callink a friend, or get ze vote from ze audience!?" the punk babbled before folding his arms and pouting.
=V=....
"Vell, if joo beink insisting..."
The pale gentlemen rolled one sleeve up and pulled a pen out of his mohawk (....) he started to scrawl down a rather complicated and large equation down his arm. A few minutes passed when he finished writing on his arm...
"ZE ANSWER IS BEINK...ENOUGH TALK... LET'S SPEAK DANCE".
Leaning back in his chair, he pulled his hand under his bandana and idly chewed on his pinky-nail.
E=MC Shake.

(((OOC: sorry for wait... waited for 'Gruffy-san' then after emily said to skip him my internet died on me... >.< moving soon so didnt waste any money on good internet in this house)))
"Now Masa-sa, tell me what you know about the word : Homeostasis
Slightly caught off guard by this fast pace, Masaru stared for several moments at the doll. Then he came to his senses and stood up, copying the other classmates, and answered the question. Since he has never been in a school before, Masaru began to spout everything he knew about homeostasis.
"The property of a living organism that regulates its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition. The concept was created by Claude Bernard, and published in 1865. It allows an organism to function effectively in a broad range of environmental conditions... Uhm... thats all I got..."
Slightly embarrased, Masaru quickly sat back down, waiting for the teacher to continue.

Post by Arim Urem'der on Jun 9, 2008 14:53:09 GMT -8
Arim settled herself into her seat, her gloved hands scanning the sides and angles of the folders, as if memorizing their structure. Her eyes scanned the surface until they turned to look at the strange plushie bouncing around, demanding questions from everyone. The girl blinked as she stared at the doll, "How illogical...." she thought to herself, watching the reactions gaged from each student. She gave a reassuring light clap to everyone who she deemed having a correct answer. However, when the attention was pointed at her, Arim let out a slight yawn before placing her hands on her knees. Easy question, positive feedback was what the body was all about, after all!
I mean... we'd all be hemophiliacs!
Arim swayed in spot for a moment before deciding on how to phrase her answer, and her examples. "A positive feedback is an organism's system responds to perturbation-- or put simply, changes-- that happen in the system. Positive feedback loops are created to adapt and respond to the changes, a really good example is blood clotting. When your tissue is injured, it sends out chemical signals that cause your platelets to create a chain of chemical signals to activate many platelets. Thus, the overflow basically causes your blood to clot and the blood to stop flowing. Positive feedback controls many things, such as uterine contractions in birth to release oxytocin, some argue embryonic growth as well. Unfortunately, Positive feedback can also lead to disease, Cancer and Bovine SE being two of them". She was quite confused with the next question coming up, Negative feedback better? Perhaps making sure your body stopped producing things like Oxytocin was a good thing, but she couldn't possibly tell how it was better. Either way, Negative and Positive feedback maintained equilibrium. Homeostasis. "However... I may argue about Negative Feedback and Positive Feedback... but I'm suppose I'm not the teacher".
Arim smiled sweetly before meshing her fingers together over her desk and glancing at Yahto for a quick second. She wasn't sure how good his knowledge was in this area, but either way she had intention to help. At least, she had dropped a hint, hopefully he caught it.

Post by Yahto Fang on Jun 11, 2008 19:06:25 GMT -8
At the moment, Yahto only had this to say.
"WHY am I in this class again!?" he exclaimed in his head. What lame-brained registrar decided it would be a good idea to put him in Advanced Placement AnaPhysio when he barely passed General Biology at his old school!? This was like throwing a kid with no arms and no legs into shark infested waters. "Oy..." moaned Yahto, hitting his head on the surface of his desk after the doll flitted away to go intellectually sucker punch another poor sap. It was moments like this that made Yahto feel stupid, even though he knew that rattling off a bunch of useless book facts wasn't the only thing that made a person smart.
Of course, listening to everyone else's answer, especially Arim's, only made him feel even more stupid. Well, except for the kid with the mohawk, that is. As he looked up at the doll with a deadpanned expression, Yahto finally decided it was crunch time and heaved an exasperated sigh as he sat up. "Lessee... Negative Feedback..." he mused, more to himself than anything. It was then that a light bulb seemed to turn on in the back of the boy's mind. "Well... Negative Feedback is probably what keeps the body's functions from running wild when the problem has been fixed. Like say... its tells the blood to stop clotting or cells to stop dividing so we don't get tumors and stuff like that."
