Ranzou re-entered his room at Jade Hall, quickly closing and locking the door. He ran over to his bag and threw it ontop of his bed and rummaged through the contents. Clothes, toothbrush, deoderant, wash clothe... Finally, he came across his first-aid kit. He opened it up and examined everything, then turned his head to look at the gash on his right arm. Fairly deep, and pretty long. But nothing he couldn't handle himself.
He started to wrap the bandags on his arm as if he was composing a song, his left hand twisting and turning to give the right amount of pressure. Everything was completed, and his right arm rested nicely in a splint. He looked at his digital alarmclock, and it was 1am. Oh well, guess I'm not going to school tomorrow either, he thought. He grabbed a long case, slung it over his left shoulder and exited the room, locking the door as he left. He took a deep breath as he stepped outside, looking up at the moon and stars. The moon was wanning, with only about 1/6 of it showing. He shoved his left hand in its respective pocket and started to walk away.
"That Gabriel guy was pretty good. He probably wasn't even a junior. I need to intensify my training... And I wonder how Forest's training is going. I hope Ukita isn't going to hard on him." He turned a corner and looked up. An empty park, about a block away. He started to walk toward it, hoping to sit on a hill and look up at the stars.
"And I hope Kyle's sister is doing okay. The whole year and he didn't tell us..."
He stopped before entering the park. He looked around, using the moonlight to see. There was a small hill to the right, so he walked over to the top and sat down. The removed the case fro his back and opened it, pulling out a shamisen. He started strumming the three-stringed instrument with its bachi, or plectrum. His right arm was sore when he strummed, but he ignored it. Once the chords were in tune, he started to play randomly. Halfway through, he noticed someone in the shadows, but waited until he finished playing.
"It's a lovely night, isn't it?"
