"Yes ma'am, My family travelled a lot so I learned things like caipira, tai chi, jujitsu, street fighting, etc. I hadn't mastered any particular style, just the basics but my father said it was good to learn a lot of everything and create a style that's comfortable for myself."
"Ah, quite a lot of students here are particularly competent in those too. If I may brag, I used to be quite the fighter myself when I was in High school."
"I don't like fighting... neither did my mother... but it's a great way to keep in shape."
"That's true, but It wears down on your body if you're not careful." she smiled as she listen to him ramble as she placed more pressure onto his wound, careful not to massage it so that it could clot. Layla would wait until he was finished talking, of course.
"Besides, it's good to keep in shape when playing the piano. The sub-divisions are easier at faster speeds." Ah, so he plays the piano too? Emily played a bit of that a little back, if she remembered well. Layla did too, but she preferred reading more than playing instruments.
"We're done."

'That was quick,' he thought to himself as he figured his rambling probably did most of the grunge work when it came to ignoring pain. He chuckled to himself for a moment as he was reminded of a certain wall-crawler he read in the comics he loved to read.
"Thank you for the shot," he said on carefully getting out of the chair. His left hand would edge over to take hold of the cotton on the place of puncture. "What's to do now? I'm grateful for your help and such, but I have next to nothing to do for the while since my classes don't start for another day or so. Perhaps I could help you around the lab?"
He thought about it after he said that. He probably could have gone wandering around the school, but he knew he'd get into a fight if he did such a thing. Kids were stupid and easily provoked -- or so he thought for the most part. This school did have a terrible reputation after all.

Perhaps I could help you around the lab?" Layla was quick to shake her head. There were procedures to be done and several other things to do-- all of them require certification, or at least... being enrolled in a medicine-related degree.
"I am sorry, but I don not believe I can let you assist me today. Most of the things I do are illegal to do unless you are directly within the field of Medicine." She said, tilting her head to the side, "However, if you please... I have some papers that need arranging alphabetically~"
Oh, if he said "yes"... he'd probably curse at his own offer.

Trizen gulped. Arranging papers alphabetically... well, she did give him the flu shot and offered to show him around the school earlier. Not to mention for him to back down from his words would be nothing but selfish.
"Sure," the fourteen year old said with a smile, "What do I do first?" The place looked as though he would be filing papers for hours and hours, but for the while he would be alright with it since he would be avoiding any sort of trouble in the school. He even thought he would be able to take refuge in the office until his stamped forehead said otherwise.
'Get in, graduate, get out.'

"Sure,"She raised an eyebrow. "What do I do first?" "We have over 4000 students and faculty over here in Public High School 259." She told him, "You sure you're up to arranging that much paperwork? You don't need to finish-- just do as much as you feel you can~"Layla smiled before turning to the door-- footsteps. The day of a doctor has just begun. "Or not~... Takano-san, there is a little bag up at my wheelchair." She told him as she stretched her fingers, as if anticipating something. "Please, get them for me."The footsteps stopped for a few seconds... "This..."
*Tick*
"...Is where..."
*Tock*
"...The real fun begins." A look: it was 9 in the morning. "Get it. Now!" Layla's expression would be serious. It would be then when Four teenagers came in, two of them seemingly wounded. "Nurse! NURSE?""Miss Nanda is away. What do we have here?""This fucking guy accused our classmate of stealing his girlfriend and basically cut this guy in the gut with a knife!" The boy said, taking the more injured to lay down on the patient table. The other was carried over to the next one. Layla didn't see he was bleeding, so he was most probably the one referred too as the assailant. "I-It doesn't seem too deep, just... bleeding!""Move!" she ordered, throwing her wig away onto the ground... revealing her short blonde hair as she went off to do some surgical handwashing. "Get a bucket of Ice and cold water from the canteen, quickly!""Yes!" She'd scrub her hands well. After all, surgical handwashing had a minimum of five minutes of washing. If Trizen came back with the bag, she would pat her hand dry with the clean towel at the side, using one end for each arm. "Trizen! There is a packet of surgical gloves inside that bag. Open the packet for me and don not dare touch the gloves inside. I will put them on myself." She was right to business. Disclaimer: Don't ever think this will replace rushing to a hospital and/or calling 911. Ever. Please.

For the moment, it felt as though time slowed down when Doctor Clavering had politely asked Trizen for her bag. Little did he know he would be in for quite the shock. When her demeanor changed and the four students rushed through the door, a chill ran up Trizen's spine. It was almost as though he had entered a different world altogether.
'Move-move, get the bag!' he thought to his legs as they were still overcoming shock. Thankfully for his arms, they were close enough to bridge the gap between his fingers and the straps of the bag on the wheelchair. His ears picked up the instructions as his mind tried to sort out the sudden stories and change of atmosphere. He knew they would eventually line up, he just didn't know when.
Seeing the doctor was getting down to it, Trizen opened the bag, and held out the packet of surgical gloves to the now short-cut blonde. He opened the packet and made sure not to touch the gloves. He would definitely cause harm if he did and he knew it.
"Done, ma'am." He said as his mind tried to anticipate what she would need next. It wasn't working. He knew next to nothing about helping a doctor in need, though the best thing he would do it pay attention and listen closely. Besides, he would rather be in there than in the class where those students came from. It sounded like students fought on a dime.

"Done, ma'am." Layla nodded and the gloves would basically pull themselves out of the small packet, rolling themselves onto the surgeon. "Inside that bag is a small case, open it for me, but be careful not to touch anything inside."
...
"Also, once that guy comes back from the canteen, give the guy on the next bed a cold water compress on his bruises." she ordered as she prepped the unconscious bleeding boy. "If he resists, please do punch the daylight out of him. We're out of anaesthesia so I suppose it would do!"
Orders here and there.
The life of a nurse.
Emily usually did this, primarily because of her ability to sterilize the environment within a second-- and also her ability to cauterize wounds.
It was an ability missed greatly by this surgeon, who slightly wished she had thought of copying her Qi before that incident.
No matter.

"Yes Doctor Clavering," the young boy said on still holding the bag. He looked deep inside and thought not to shuffle around with anything out of respect for what she said. It would have been wrong for him to snoop around and he was not that kind of guy as it was.
Ah, there it was. That small case she was talking about. He had no idea what was inside, but the mere fact that it resembled what he felt was right was good enough for him. It was her intention, and for enough of a reason it was good enough for him to find it -- aside from him already being observant.
His light brown eyes raised up towards the busy doctor as he placed the bag down on an empty part of the counter and held out the case for her. As much as it seemed like a random thought, Trizen could not help but notice how graceful Layla looked while performing her tasks. She looked so calm and serene, but her eyes said a lot more than he would have liked. He could not put them into words, but his soul understood. The tough part was translating it so his spirit and body would get the better end of the explaination -- he wasn't quite there yet.
Before the doctor would be able to reply, he noticed the boy on the bed was beginning to get restless. He thought for a moment on which was more important. The case or the boy. Both seemed terribly urgent and he knew he would have to do something about it. His eyes lit up as he knew what to do. Now the boy was already tossing nasty words at Trizen and even threatened him once or twice, but the fourteen year old didn't flinch. Instead, he took two fingers, reached to a comfortable spot by his neck and lightly passed his fingers. Within that same instant, the rowdy boy was knocked out cold.
"Your case, Doctor Clavering," the boy was finally able to say on returning to the task at hand.

"Yes Doctor Clavering," She opened the bag with haste. Lo and behold. A simple surgical kit with soluble thread and needles and the ever so important syringe of local anesthetic. There were also some scalpels, forceps and other such items, but most of them would not be needed today.
She took one small forceps to hand, and yet another syringe, irrigating the wound with water. Ah, the boy was clotting. Phew, she thought she had to cauterize the poor boy's wounds. It'd be pretty painful without enough anesthetic.
She only had enough for removing the pain on minor stitching.
It would be a sight to behold as the needle floated to Layla's hand and she would squeeze the contents into the area as the needle and thread fixed themselves up for what was going to happen next.
"T-This won't... hurt?" the boy asked. Well, Layla didn't answer, but just gave an assuring smile as she grabbed the prepared needle and began to work fast yet amazingly accurate stitches, starting from the muscle.
"Wo-would that thread stay there?" he asked again. Layla was working on the subcutaneous tissue by this point, and she answered him promptly.
"Not at all, this thread will most likely be dissolved into your system by the time your wounds heal up. Nothing to worry about." she assured him, She pulled out the thread she previously used on the inner tissues and took out an ordinary surgical thread. "But this one... we'll have to take out after a while, It wouldn't hurt, really. So you'll see me again in a couple of weeks or so, alright?"
The boy nodded.
*snip*
Well, that didn't take long.
She was just glad that was over. She turned from the bed and took off her gloves, quickly disposing of it into the proper disposal bin.
"There, all done~ <3"
