"Okay."
Chrynos smiled. For a moment, he had a brief thought that she would decline the offer, fearing that history would once more repeat itself, be it by Chrynos' choice or not. Now, Chrynos grew up knowing that his parents had been murdered in their own house, though contracted amnesia soon after that due to Eric. With external help, of course, he was able to regain his memory, which was something Chrynos found more painful than helpful. And Chrynos was determined not to let his son go through the same thing again.
"Thanks. For catching Brian." "He's my son too, you know. I can't let anything happen to him."
Chrynos replied, before looking upwards at the sky. Despite the faint traces of smoke that darkened it, the blue blanket littered with white clouds was always a relaxing view to behold. Considering that they were near the sea, there were more clouds, making it much more majestic. He smiled, for a moment relieved of the pain in his right limb and his knees.
If he was not as strong and sturdy as he had trained himself to be, Chrynos knew that his injuries would have been much worse. Not only him, but Hyunie and Brian too.

"He's my son too, you know. I can't let anything happen to him."
He had no idea how relieving his words were, how much stress it lifted off her shoulders knowing that she wouldn't be the only one watching out for the constant safety of her son. Though when he gets older, she wasn't going to be all protective and motherly - she would cut him some slack. She didn't want to be overly protective; wanted him to make mistakes and learn from them, because it was unfortunate that she, nor Dark, would be able to teach him everything.
While Dark looked up at the sky, Hyunie looked down at Brian, cooing at him softly, watching over him as he slept. She checked her wrist watch, realizing she had totally skipped work, and that her boss would really not be happy with her sudden disappearance - but he was fair, so long as she explained that she had to save her son from a burning apartment building with her missing fiance who she had just then reunited with.
Right.
"Sorry about your hand....and your shoulder.......and other....injuries."
She stood up, gently placing Brian on Dark's lap, making sure that Dark had somewhat of a hold on him before letting go.
"I'll bring the car on over."
So 'til then.
Spend some time with your son, yeah?

"Sorry about your hand....and your shoulder.......and other....injuries." "Ah, don't mind them. They're just injuries. They'll go away soon enough."
Chrynos smiled back at her, though he knew that soon was going to be quite a while. The graze on his shoulder and his knees would recover, but having the skin of your fingers being burnt and torn off from your flesh at the same time would indeed deal a lot of damage to the hand. It'll take a while, but in the end, it would recover. It just needed a lot of TLC, that's all. Then, Hyunie stood up, placing Brian on his lap. Surprised, he placed his working arm around the baby's mid-torso, keeping him in a position where Chrynos would be able to keep him stable with just one arm.
He looked up at Hyunie, confused.
"I'll bring the car on over."
Chrynos nodded in return, before letting his attention return to the sleeping baby. He smiled, before leaning forward and resting his forehead gently against Brian's. This was his child. His own child. His blood. His family. His next-in-line. He smiled. Softly, he whispered to the sleeping child.
"Hey, Brian..."

So did she. It didn't take a genius to estimate how long it would take for certain injuries to heal. It wouldn't be for another couple of weeks, even months, for his skin to fully regenerate on his hand. Still, she left Brian in Dark's care, trusting that he would be safe from harm. To be honest, Hyunie had truly been deathly frightened at the idea of Brian being inside a burning building. Like said previously before, Brian is her everything - the only reason why she attends college, so that he'll have a better future. That he won't be embarrassed of her when he gets older, but rather, proud. She sighed as she stepped inside her car, which a police man had kindly parked off to the side. Keys took a while to find, but they were placed in the glove department. Inside the car, she took a huge breath. She was shaking, only because it was an after shock - she rarely ever shook when she was nervous, but rather, she felt it after she did whatever it is she had to do.
She repeatedly told herself to calm down, that Brian was okay now, and so was Dark. Told herself that there was no reason to shake. So after about ten or so minutes spending time alone in the car, she geared the car to drive and slowly pulled up next to Dark. Parking it, she stepped out of the car, slipping Brian into her own arms and opening the backseat, where she promptly buckled him up in the specially bought baby seat.
Sleeping, as if nothing had happened.
Innocence.
Oh how she wanted to keep him pure.

The car came to their side, Chrynos lifting his head from Brian's as he watched Hyunie alight her car, proceeding towards them. As she took him from his arms, Chrynos gently let go of the young child, allowing Hyunie to lift him up with ease. Hoisting himself off the ambulance, he flinched as the pain from his knees arrived when his weight was placed upon them. He took deep breathes for a while, trying to ease the pain, before taking his first step. Well, it was better than the first jolt of pain. Confident, he started pacing forward, his face crunching slightly with every step he took, but soon enough, the pain was eased to a bearable state, the crunching no longer coming on.
As he went up behind Hyunie as she placed Brian in his baby seat, before wrapping his arms around her from behind, gently around her neck as he buried his face against the right side of her head, closing his eyes as he breathed softly, a small smile coming up to his face.
"... I missed you."

She felt a pair of arms wrap around her from behind, instantly knowing that it was Dark. She relaxed, letting out a soft sigh as she turned her head a bit to the side to face Dark - or try, at least - a hardly noticeable smile appearing on her thin lips before she spoke.
"It'd be a lie if I said I didn't miss you either."
She didn't realize the pain that he was in until just then, a guilty look crossing her face. She had been paying too much attention to Brian that she hardly noticed Dark's pain at all. She apologized to him in a whisper, slowly turning around to help Dark into the passengers seat of the car, careful not to close the door on him before hurrying to the drivers seat. There were a set of diapers, baby food and clothes for both herself and Brian that Hyunie had in her trunk, only because she figured danger would follow wherever the students from 552 went, so it never hurt to be ready to leave. Therefor, there was no reason to go shopping immediately.
And besides, breakfast for Brian was through breastfeeding, but Dark wouldn't know that.
"I think we should stop by the drug store first, unless you have a really nice first aid kit at your place?"
She was kind of worried. What if his hand got infected?

"It'd be a lie if I said I didn't miss you either."
Chrynos chuckled, before releasing Hyunie as he started to seat himself down in the passenger's seat. At first, it was a hard task just going around the car, but with Hyunie's help and support, the older man was able to make it there. Had his knees really been under that much pressure? Maybe. One thing's for sure, Chrynos needed to sit down and rest his knees before he could walk right again. As soon as he sat down, Hyunie closed the door for him and he leaned back fully against the seat, letting out a long loud satisfied sigh.
"I think we should stop by the drug store first, unless you have a really nice first aid kit at your place?"
Chrynos turned to Hyunie as she sat down on the driver's seat. The drug store? At first, he cluelessly looked at her, but soon enough, he realized what she wanted and let out a soft chuckle, looking at his right hand. It had already been disinfected, of course, with much pain indeed. That was standard procedure. They disinfected wounds before wrapping them in bandages. After all, who knows when their patients might suddenly run out on them, like what Chrynos was doing now.
"Ah, it's ok. They already cleaned up the wound. Let's just head home and rest. Just drive towards the beach and it should be on the way there."
He smiled, before leaning back against the seat once more.

"Ah, it's ok. They already cleaned up the wound. Let's just head home and rest. Just drive towards the beach and it should be on the way there."
Yeah, right.
"Tch," a light scoff.
She went to the drug store regardless of what Chrynos said. Pulling her car up to the curb, she stepped out, grabbing her bag with her, and would ignore Chrynos if he decided to protest. Disinfectant, bandages and a standard first aid kit. If he had one at home, that's great - never hurt to have another. She paid, left, popped them in the backseat next to Brian and then drove off, heading toward the direction of the beach just as Dark had instructed.
"Do I pull in and park here?"
Hn. Talk about a fancy building.

"Tch."
Chrynos' eyes widened in surprise as he turned to look at Hyunie, who seemed to have been annoyed at his protest. Alright, maybe they did not really disinfect it, but they did clean the wound with water. That was good enough, right? Well, it seemed good enough. It still hurt, yes, but not as bad as it did. And they drove to the drug store. Chrynos, if he wasn't in such a bad or tired condition, would have done something to stop her, but found himself unable to this time round as she left the car and went into the drug store.
He then took this opportunity to look around the car, then at Brian. A soft smile came up to his lips. His son was here. His family was here. And he was here. New York may have been where he had grown up, but California seemed more peaceful than the Night City. Perhaps he could get old here? Perhaps.
Then, Hyunie came back, placing the stuff at the back of the car, before driving off towards Chrynos' condominium. As they reached the place, Hyunie asked if she could just pull in at the front and park. Chrynos shook his head, before pointing at the road that went to the side of the condominium.
"There's a carpark there and three spots reserved for me. Just find the black limo and park beside it."
Yeah. Rich.

"...why the hell do you have three parking spots reserved for you?"
What, did he have three cars? Hyunie frowned, parking in the spot next to the luxurious car, suddenly feeling rather uncomfortable. Hyunie was never used to being around the rich, Chrynos included. She looked in the rear view mirror, staring at Brian, a soft sigh escaping her lips - she had a feeling she wouldn't get used to such a life, and so she thought of Brian, and how she had to do this for him. Until Hyunie found a cozy home for them to live at, she would put up with Chrynos' rather fancy styled life, or so she assumed it would be fancy. Maybe this was a sign that they were incompatible. Or, maybe opposites really do attract, who knows? Stepping out of the car, she hurriedly went over to the passenger's side and opened the door for Dark, knowing he would have some troubles because his hand was, well, bandaged. After he got out, she would silently move to the back seat, gently scooping the sleeping child into her arms, along with the medication bought from the drug store.
She figured Dark could close the car door on his own, but if he didn't, she would for him, leaving it unlocked.
"Well... Lead the way?"

"...why the hell do you have three parking spots reserved for you?"
"Cause I bought them."
Chrynos replied, a slight increase in tone at the end as he replied her question with what seemed like a question but was in fact an answer. Confusing, I know. Then, Hyunie got out of the car and Chrynos relaxed a bit, watching at the rear-view mirrow as she went around the car and opened the passenger's door. Giving her a small smile and a nod, he proceeded to bring his legs around and getting himself back on the ground. It took him a while and the help of his left arm to finally be able to stand, before closing the door behind him.
He looked up, seeing Hyunie there, with Brian in her arms. As she requested for him to lead the way, Chrynos only bowed, before turning around and walking over to the elevator conveniently located near the reserved parking slots. Pressing the button, he leaned against the wall, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he waited for the elevator. His crimson eyes then looked for Hyunie's.
"So... How have you been?"

"Cause I bought them."
"...and why would you do that?"
Oh lovely. An elevator. Sooo close to the parking spots. She arched a brow, looking down at Brian when he asked the second question, as if answering him with actions rather than words. She had been busy; there are times when Hyunie gets home late from school, work, always feeling sorry for the babysitters... Doesn't get to spend that much time with Brian, but usually makes up for it on the weekends. There are times when she gets little to no sleep because Brian was in that crying, wailing phase, and often times she found herself watching over him as he slept, making sure that he was breathing. A fear that usually came with new mothers due to stories often told of babies choking on their own spit, then dying.
"..tired..."
Was her only verbal reply, followed by a small smile as she took in a light breath, the elevator 'ding!'ing. She would let Chrynos step first before following in after him.
"What about you?"

"...and why would you do that?"
"To make sure I have parking spaces all the time?"
Chrynos returned with another one of his simple-minded replies. Truly, the rich and their needs. If Chrynos was not who he was then, he would be laughing, but hey, Chrynos was now a business man and a rich one at that. He earned a lot of money, and what else could he do with them other than make his living as comfortable and as smooth as possible. After all, was that not what everyone actually works for? Money to make life better?
Then, as Hyunie looked at Brian, Chrynos could only frown. He could tell how much trouble Hyunie had to go through in bringing up their son, with him not being there to help her. Well, at least now that he was there in California, he would be able to stay with them and do his job as the father of the family.
The elevator sounded its arrival and the doors slid open. Chrynos wasted no time in going in, knowing that Hyunie was waiting for him to enter first. After all, she did not move when the doors opened. As he brought himself to the wall near the buttons, he would wait until Hyunie was inside, before pressing the button of the top floor, followed by the button that closed the doors.
"What about you?"
"Eh... Business has been demanding."

"To make sure I have parking spaces all the time?"
"..so two isn't enough?"
Another question to his answer. The rich had their wants, the poor had needs. There was a huge difference between the term of wanting something and needing something - even Brian could probably figure it out. And although it stands true that Hyunie is working to make Brian's life a smooth process, what Hyunie and Dark are thinking are two separate things. If Hyunie were a rich business woman, she'd be donating the money to those who need it. Orphanages, for an example. Children in Africa, even. Maybe it was just a pet peeve for Hyunie, but she was never one to spend money on herself unless she thought it necessary. The car she has was from her father, games for Brian - healthy ones, like the alphabet game - food, clothing.
Paying for three parking spots is definitely one thing she would never, ever pay for.
"Eh... Business has been demanding."
Reason Hyunie isn't into the whole business thing is because if you're successful, it takes up too much of your time and your stress level goes up. If you're unsuccessful, your stress level goes up. High blood pressure isn't what Hyunie needs, nor wants.
"I see."
She honestly didn't know what to say. In her opinion, their was an awkward atmosphere present between the two of them, and why wouldn't there be? Having just been reunited after so long? And it wasn't the first time he had left her, not to mention that it's no longer just the two of them - a third had come along for the ride.
The elevator came to a stop, the doors sliding open. Once again, she waited patiently for him to leave first so she could follow suit.

"..so two isn't enough?"
"Meh..."
Chrynos shrugged, unable to think up of any answer to that question. Yeah, one could say he was a spoiled rich brat, but hey, at least he was not on drugs, ya? Chrynos smiled at that thought for a moment, before looking up as he heard the elevator let out another ring, indicating that they had reached the floor, hearing Hyunie's reply but saying nothing after that. He had nothing to say, after all. As the doors opened, he looked at Hyunie.
Once again, he figured that she would just follow, so he led the way, using his left hand to support himself as he placed his injured right hand over his stomach. The room the elevator led too was not that large, really. It led into an oval room where three other elevator doors were located, the building having being fixed with three elevators, and the hallway opposite the elevator they left was only but three feet long, ending to a brown door. Chrynos dragged himself toward sit, before putting out his set of keys out from his right pocket. Picking out the right one, he slotted it in and unlocked the door, opening it for himself and his family.
He had managed to buy this penthouse, which had cost him a lot, but it was worth it. It had taken up the whole level, and Chrynos loved spacious houses. It gave him more opportunities to install particular function rooms to save him the trouble of leaving the building to get there himself, like gyms and what not. Turning to Hyunie and Brian, he stretched his left arm into the house, giving them a soft smile.
"Welcome to your temporary home, I guess."
