Fan boys, in definition the living entity that spent most of its time obsessing over a rather sexually attractive item that could not be possessed. In other words, the girl now wielding the very nifty rapier in hand. Bastille slammed the hilt of her sword into the fan boy of the day. Little effort, her sword even stayed sheathed. She slide the sword back into its little loop at her side and flattened out her shorts for the day. Her crimson eyes scanning the small crowd of bored teenagers who now saw this on a weekly basis.
Bastille a rather short girl for her age with a rather charming body was also a dangerous as her appeal. Though defiantly not as strong as her master or a lot of other students here at this school she wasn’t a push over either. Her face return to its normal bored expression as she returned to her spot near the clock tower in the center of the quad. Sitting down she pulled out a cigarette and stuffed it between her lips flicking on the lighter and setting the end of the drag a flame. She sighed as the weather seemed to be boring down on her. Summer heat.
She had left her bomber jacket at home today and instead wore a pair of very short jean shorts, biker boots with white thigh high stockings, a black tube top that buttoned in the front with bandages underneath it to cover her scares there. On her lower back right in the center was the birth mark fleur de Lis. She wore fingerless biker gloves on her hands with heavy leather studded bracelets on her left wrist to cover the cut scars. Oh the glory of the emo days. She wore just two out of her normal thousand necklaces; a black chocker and a simple chain carrying a heavy cross. She had a white ribbon tied around her head like a yakuza, and of course her very random pair of black rock climbing holsters. She waved herself with a homemade fan and looked up at the sun.
“you’re a bastard you know that” she spoke out loud. She was once again talking to god and blaming him for everything. Her crimson eyes removed themselves behind their sunglasses to rest on the still body of the fan boy in front of her. Rolling her eyes she leaned back waiting for class to start. And if she was lucky, her nap to begin. If she wasn’t so lucky, that meant someone crossed her path with the wrong aura, or it was Mathew Amtrum with another duty for her to perform punishment already decided.
“really, you’re a bastard” she groaned again.

The quad, a place that was new to the finely dressed Josiah, he walked across it slowly with a cigarette clenched between his lips. It was warm out but that did not seem to matter, dressed in his normal white button down and dress slacks, his thin vest holding his possessions. It was clear he did not care about the world or anything around him, life and its daily events were all but a lie which people willingly gave into to avoid the truth which lay at the end for every one.
‘you’re a bastard you know that’
A female voice, it could not help but grab his attention. His own red eyes glanced over to her. While he was not one to easily be interested in a pretty body, he could not help but notice the one she had. Quite the eye catcher that was not something he could deny, but other then that he could not actually say much more then that.
He walked closer, for the sole fact he had to head in her direction to get to where he was going.
‘really, you’re a bastard’ she spoke again and Josiah could not help but stop in his steps looking over to her
“That’s the first time some ones called me that before the even knew who I was” Josiah looked over to her, taking a drag from his cigarette, he was curious who she was calling a bastard and at the same time he really didn’t care. But figuring he was in high school he had to be slightly social, or atleast try to be

“you’re not the bastard” Her voice trailed softly as her eyes still stared at the sky. She raised a hand, shooting it towards the sky, her index finger pointing accusingly at a lone cloud. “he is…him and all his little hierarchy” she said then dropped her hand and let her face fall. Her eyes, crimson as his stared at him with minor curiosity. He looked like he had been through hard times. Probably worse then her own. This pleased Bastille oddly. However she didn’t smirk. A frown creased her lips even over the cigarette which she took out and pursed her lips before letting a long steady flow of smoke release itself from her lips. She snubbed the fag and let it drop her arms then crossing over her chest.
“and who might you be, I don’t think bastard suits you, you haven’t earned that kind of hate from me….besides…sparkle toes sounds better” she mused pushing down her black shades to reveal her crimson eyes which stared at his shoes with an incredulous brow raised.
“or does dark mysterious and handsome suit you better twinie” she said smirking now as she looked into his red eyes. She then leaned back again her arms folded neatly behind her head.
“nope, I defiantly like sparkle toes” she grinned eyeing the sky again.

‘your not the bastard’
He had figured as such, she didn’t seem to be directing those words to any one at general but he had used it as an excuse to speak with her he guessed. As she looked off into the sky and her hand followed he easily under stood what she was getting at even before more of her words followed. She was angry at god, and he could understand that. He used to believe in god at one time until life got to hard and he realized god was just a crutch people used, weak people used to try and get through life. Him on the other hand, he had realized long ago unless he took a matter into his own hands nothing would ever change, and in that small realization he had killed god.
A frown crossed her lips before she removed the cigarette from her lips, he studied her wondering why it was god was a bastard to her, he knew ever one went through hard times in their life but he could not help but wonder what hers were. He still puffed away at his own bud between his lips. As she asked him who he was in what he guessed was a joking type of manner.
That was when he noticed her own red eyes, how he hated those colors eyes. They reminded him of his brothers eyes, the eyes of the fucker that had betrayed him so long ago, even if Josiah had the same colored ones it was different when some one else looked at him with them.
“I don’t know…I’m partial to the dark mysterious myself…sparkle toes makes me sound like some faggit dancer” Jo said removing the singing filter of his cigarette from his lips letting it fall to the ground below him “Every one though just calls me Jo though” he muttered not looking forward to any more nicknames from her.
“And what do you go by…god hating hottie…or leggy blasphemer” Josiah said, clearly giving away the fact he had already scooped her form out with his eyes.

“you catch on quick”
She muttered with a bright grin forcing the shades back up her nose. She then crossed her legs and flipped her lighter in her hand before making a giant swipe for it. She was obviously just toying around with random objects on her person. Checking to see how much oil is left she shoved it back in her pocket.
“well Jo…” she started before standing up and brushing herself off. She put a hand on her hip. Damnit she was shorter then him. Bastille sent another curse word towards the gates of heaven hoping god would read it and maybe allow her two more inches. She believed in God…not for hope or someone to lean on, but someone she could shout at when she needed to blow some steam, and not feel completely crazy. She noticed this person obviously held no belief towards this silent observer. She touched the cross on her chest and lifted it up to look at it smirking. She was walking towards him now her sword clanking at her side.
An ancient yet dull blade. Made from the finest French blacksmith. Had taken her months to acquire the thing from the black market. She held out a hand and continued to smirk.
“Bastille…but if you’re into nicknames, call be best ass….i apparently won the title, so ill use it, though my self proclaimed “owner” might not like you calling me that…not that I care, you could call me whatever you want” she said quietly.

He watched as she got up, a bit relieved she had chosen to use his name other then sparkle toes. He would have had to hurt her if she had chosen to kept that one up for long. She seemed odd, he could really not explain it, maybe it had something to do with the sword she was carrying. After all who in the hell walked around with one of those these days.
When she held out her hand he was reluctant at first but took it in his own giving it a firm shake, he was not the kind of person who liked to be touched…not at all, infact he hated it, a hand shake was normally as far as anyone got with him. He relinquished his grip on her hand
“I’ll stick with Bastille…maybe Bass” Jo said his tone didn’t seem to wavier on anything as though he didn’t care about anything. His eyes looked to the sword.
“Isn’t that thing a bit dated for the modern age…I can’t help but be curious why your carrying it”

She blinked and then shoved her shades on top of her head glancing down at her blade. She then looked back at him straight in the eyes.
“I guess you can say im into old fashioned chivalry…in more then one respect” she smirked. Suddenly the blade was out and over Jo’s shoulder. Nothing had been cut or damaged. Bastilles main asset was speed. Her eyes continued to stare into his.
“nice blade, unlike a katana this weapon is used mainly for stabbing, however 100 times more maneuverable then a saber…the rapier is just one of many sword I am able to wield, my personal favorite…fits my name”
She said then let the blade slide down his shoulder and back into its sheathe. The blade was completely dull, it couldn’t do him any harm and if he was any good he would know that the instant he found it over his shoulder. She bounced her head and her shades fell over her eyes again.
She took a few steps back her eyes scanning a few students as they walked toward their classes, all to used to these occurrences. She however turned back to look at him with a frown on her face.
“don’t let the past propel you forward, but don’t forget it either, instead…” she murmured then shook her head and smirked. Turning to walk away she look over her shoulder.
“you’ll do just fine here” She smirked her sunglasses falling down her nose to reveal her crimson eyes brightly flashing a wink.
