Unless there's some sort of tolerance... For example:
Up to 3 stat points, it would make no diference at all... From 4 to 6 Points, there would be a LITTLE diference... From 7 to 10, the diference would be considerable... From 10 and beyond... Just forget it... XD
This could work for other stats as well. To avoid shit like "I'm stronger than you, because I got 2 extra Stat points!"
However, this would have to be very well worked out, like... what about people with low stats? Maybe the tolerance levels would decrease, matching the needs of those with lower stats.
Just like in videogames... 1 stat point gives little to no difference. Of course, it depends on the game, but works like that most of the times.

No, it shouldn't work out with otherstats, otherwise we are dealing with the fact that a blue blood can't take out the hunters so to speak. Which is kinda not really fair considering that if they RP better... well, yeah, you get my point.
Though a numerical value encompassing Qi with Cha is actually a nice feature, though there is unfortunately the other problem that makes it good for the scrapper. I mean don't get me wrong, this could work with QI that are say, power based, like a physical QI or something.
Though with it I bring the big issues which would need some kind of tuning
Some people made there Qi very detailed in which this system would cause them to do mass revision, because as opposed to saying there QI would make them run 5 points faster, it would have to conform to this causing everyone hecktickness (made up word).
Now, on the other hand, this system could be applied to say, like a defense barrier, or something that doesn't really have a set in stone design, like your Qi vs mat, then this is perfect, but we would either need to come up with crap loads more otherwise this would only apply to things such as your kinds of QI

Hmm... Still, let's use common sense. Let's assume Mathew has 50 CHA, and I have 45. (EXAMPLE!!!) There's a diference, yeah, but not THAT much of a diference. So, on these cases, I could still be able to summon orbs, but on a lower Ki level. Other example... I cast the barrier BEFORE Mathew gets close to me (his Ki range)... My barrier would stay, right? Ah but in this example keep in mind what the Qi's are. You have a sheild to protect you, but my Qi cancels other Qi's out. Thats all it does. Which in my opinion would make it diffrent then an attack Qi negating your Orbs by being stronger.

which is why this is kinda up for discussion to perhaps take the set in stone aspect out of QI, because likewise if he was 5 points Cha higher than you by all technicality you shouldn't be able to turn his Qi off, maybe tone it down, but not deactivate it.
The problem is that there are so many classifications of Qi that its difficult to make some sort of plan or method in which to change this.

Well the thing is Charisma is already used in almost everyone's Qi as one of the requierments to level it. That alone is a battle value for CHA.

Eh, that isn't really true or false. Yeah, some people do use stat based req's, though there are a few of us here who don't... and some people who do but don't use Cha in that equation.
But that is neither here nor there I suppose.
