Another Day, Another School

[Aureus]

A groan could be heard as Aureus pulled himself out of bed after Ashley had called him to get up. Hmm, today's the first day for that new school. What was it called again? 259, and you're too slow. I'm taking over. The boy thought, before his control of his body was ripped from him and he fell back onto the bed. Moments later, he rose again. Only this time he looked completely different. His hair was shorter and red; and his physical features had changed. Rushing, the red headed boy jumped into the shower for five minutes before stepping out and throwing on his usual attire. An orange T-shirt ; dark blue, slightly baggy jeans; and white and black New Balances. Sure, the jeans were a bit much for Cali weather, but it's what he liked to wear. Fuck shorts, he wasn't the clone surfer freak you saw all too often in this part of the state.

Once dressed, Levi rushed down the stairs to the kitchen table. Haha, I see you've decided to begin the day today, huh Levi? Ashley said, poking him on the side of the head. The reason she mentioned this was because Aureus was in control most of the time, especially in the morning. "Shudup, oh lemme have some of the toast too." The boy replied in a light hearted manner. After two slices of bread were dropped on his place Levi went to the fridge and pulled out a jar of jelly. On his way back, his free arm grabbed the cinnamon from the spice rack. He then picked up a knife from the table, spread the jelly on his toast, and finally sprinkled it with cinnamon. A short time later he finished and made his way towards the door, grabbing his book bag as he went. "Alrighty, I'll see ya later, Ash."

The school was pretty close to his house, so Levi only had to run about 7 blocks before he found himself before what looked like a giant diamond of buildings with a clock tower in the center. "Jesus Christ, this place is huge! I bet there's lotsa hot girls here, heh." The Freshmen said to himself, and Aureus kinda. *sigh* Are women all you think about? Of course not. Having fun and fighting are important too. Idiot...

With a quick pull, Levi opened the door next to a sign that said "Building one". Looking around, he saw more people than he'd ever seen in one place before. Everything looked expensive and new. Well duh, this place is only a couple months old. You shoulda paid attention when I was reading those information packets. Pfff After he finished gawking, the boy began his search for the main office to pick up his schedule. As he went a few girls threw him lusty looks, and he replied in kind with a few winks of his own. I knew the girls here'd be cute! Eventually, he realized he was lost. He had walked around what seemed like the entire first floor, and still wasn't able to find it. Scratching the back of his neck, he looked for someone to ask until...

[Aurora]

The red haired girl was walking down the hall way. It was a little nerve racking to be by herself in crowds...but she was managing for the moment. Aurora...was shy. Nervous. Maybe a bit too sweet. But always willing to help some one in need!

She clutched her book bag to herself, continuing to walk and trying to avoid people that were running around. Her dark hazel eyes darted around. Aurora had worn a blue pleated skirt that day, along with a white dress shirt, the buttons completely done. On her feet were a pair of white high heels. Simple and sweet.

"Excuse me..."

She was bumped almost right into the locker in front of a lost looking boy. It had startled herself, and more than likely him. It was just another day for her at the school...

"I'm very sorry..."

[Aureus]

Out of nowhere some girl almost slammed into the locker on his left. Going off instinct, he threw out his left arm to attack. Seeing that it was just a girl, and not an attacker, he stopped his arm before it hit her. "Oh, don't worry about it, beautiful." Levi said with a sly smile. Taking the time to look her over he noticed that his comment hadn't been off at all. She was beautiful, really beautiful. It seemed as if his day kept getting better and better. There were cute girls all over the place! For lack of a better phrase, it was like a gold mine. Goddamnit, don't go around hitting on all the girls in this school already. I don't want them all thinking I'm a lecher like you. Hey pal, you are a lecher. And we share this body, so quit complaining. All I'm saying is I don't want you to go overboard. Aureus told Levi. They were always arguing.

Remembering he had almost forgotten the red headed girl, he looked back at her and spoke. "Hey, uhh, I'm new here so could you show me where the office is? You'd think they're trying to hide the damn thing." The boy said, a bit annoyed at the end. And rightfully so! That office was hidden away like Irish people at the beach.

[Aurora]

"Oh, don't worry about it, beautiful."

The dark hazel eyes went as wide as possible. Her face lit up like a light on a christmas tree. All she could do was stare and stutter. More "Um"s and "uh"s than normal. The red head just didn't know what to do.

"Hey, uhh, I'm new here so could you show me where the office is? You'd think they're trying to hide the damn thing."

Oh....he was talking again. Aurora couldn't do anything but nod her head and agree. It wouldn't be to hard to show him around right?

"S-sure! It's this way!" She pointed off in the correct direction. Ghiste had shown her the way the other day. "My name is Aurora Nevin." The blush had yet to drop.

[Aureus]

Heh, it seems she's a shy one. No matter. The Freshmen thought as he saw the girl blush, and get all fidgety. It was actually pretty cute on her. There weren't many 'innocent' girls around anymore, or that's what he thought anyway. In his last school, it was nothing but violence and the girls were anything but innocent.

Sure enough, she knew where the office was and even offered to show him. After that she introduced herself. Aurora? Hmm, you don't hear that much. You don't hear Aureus that much either, buddy. "Nice to meet you miss Nevin, I'm Levi Ranson." He said before taking her hand and placing a small kiss on it. Do you know how cheesy that is?! Hell, it's worked before, bro.

[Aurora]

Her eye twitched. The red head just stared in utter shock as Levi's lips met with her hand. And her face had been ready before??? The red shade now was much darker, and she felt on the edge of a total melt down.

"UH! Um...I..uh..."

She couldn't control the blush or the fact she felt like just sitting down on her rear and dying of embarassment. That had never happened to her before. And frankly, Aurora hoped it wouldn't again.

"Right... Mr.Ranson...well...met. To the office!"

She headed off quickly, trying to control her face. Well, the blushing. It wasn't working very well.

[Aureus]

Levi couldn't help but inwardly laugh his ass off as the girl turned an even deeper shade of red and began to stammer. She sure was unique. Aureus on the other hand thought the whole thing was embarrassing and stupid. How many people had seen that?! And how many people would think he was a pervert? After a moment he realized that he looked different than Levi, so it didn't really matter. Well, other than the fact that he had to suffer through it of course.

Soon enough Aurora had taken off toward the office at a rather fast pace, and Levi had to power walk to keep up. Was she really that shy? He had never met a girl like that in his life. Most of the girls from his old school would have smacked the hell out of him. And because of that he learned more subtle ways of flirting. None-the-less it was still fun to try different techniques every now and than. "You don't have to be so embarrassed, ya know." Levi said light heartedly as he followed her.

[Aurora]

"You don't have to be so embarrassed, ya know."

Aurora looked at him, the blush starting to die. Well, it was just her. How she was, the way she acted. Everything she did tended to be quiet and meek...except for her paintings.

"I...Sorry, it's just the way I am."

She looked away, and toward the office...but slowed down. There was no point in walking that fast in this hallway. The pale girl just tried to walk through the crowd.

"The office is close...You're new then?" Conversation was always good right?

[Aureus]

The way she was? Yes, that was a good point. Maybe she really was just a shy person, and there wasn't much he could do to change it. Right away anyways. Maybe he'd get her to loosen up after a while. "Don't worry 'bout it, but don't apologize." He said with a friendly smile when she turned back to look at him. After that he folded his arms behind his back and slowed his pace since Aurora had. Hearing her talk once more, he responded promptly. "Yup, just transferred in today. So far, this place seems alot different from my last school. Not as much violence, not to mention it looks alot bigger."

[Aurora]

"I...am new around here too. Only been going to school for a couple of days..."

The red head peered around the hallway... girls and boys and teachers flowed through it. So many... she had to take a quick breath of air to try and control herself. Maybe it was time to take a page from Walt Disney and think happy thoughts? She had walked this way with Ghiste and Zade just the other day.

Zade... her roomie. He was a really nice guy... no other way to describe it really. Aurora smiled, thinking about it all. She liked this school, just for the two of them.

"But don't worry! I know where I'm going!" She let her smile wing toward him, and kept walking at the pace she was going. Aurora made a point to remember things...so she wouldn't get lost in these kinds of places. Places with lots of people....

[Aureus]

"Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one." The Freshmen replied when he hear Aurora say she was new as well. It wasn't surprising either, there'd probably be alot of new people attending and leaving their older more violent schools behind. Probably wasn't their choice to leave either, but their parents. That's how it always was. Though it didn't look like this school would ever be filled no matter how many kids came. For huge builds, each with four floors. It was insane. The state probably had to cut them a nice chunk of change to build the place.

"Haha, well that's nice to know." He responded. "So, why're you here? I don't mean for an education or any of that crap, but why this paticular school?"

[Aurora]

"Why?" The word left Aurora's lips and she had to wonder how many times someone would ask her that. Ghiste...Zade... now this boy as well. Ghiste had heard most of the story...Zade had heard it all. Would the hand kisser hear it as well?

"I moved to this area...and this was the closest school to my apartment."

Nope. She didn't feel comfortable around him. Not enough to tell him the tear jerker. It wasn't as if Aurora wanted her story to be so sad...it was just how it was. But the red head was glad...she had been able to meet Ghsite and Zade. Making friends with them had been enough to make up her mother marrying such a jerk.

"Here's the office!!"

She pointed to the door blandly labeled "Main Office". He could get his class list and such from there.

[Aureus]

Turning his head to look at Aurora, he felt the mood change drastically. Apparently this was a touchy subject. Usually the girl seemed a bit shy, but now...she seemed kinda sad. And of course she didn't go into much detail with her story. Maybe it was something personal. "Ah, I see." Levi replied in a tone calmer than usual. Not long after they finally arrived at the office. Alright Levi, since I'll be in control most of the time I want the people in the office to know me, not you. Aww, spoiling my fun already? Fine fine... The boy thought before slamming his right hand against the wall so he wouldn't fall down. "What's that?" He asked while pointing behind Aurora. When she turned to look, Levi would transfer control back to Aureus and his appearance would change. Red hair replaced with dark brown among other changes.

With that, he turned his back to the girl and began to walk into the office. "Thanks, Aurora." He said in a way completely different from before. There was no longer that oozing confidence and lightheartedness in his voice. In it's place would be something calm, deep, and serious.

[Aurora]

Aurora would have looked, being Aurora. The girl just didn't understand when she was being tricked or fooled. Too good hearted in nature for all of that. When she didn't see anything... she just looked harder, trying to see what had been pointing out at her.

"Thanks, Aurora."

The girl spun when an unknown voice spoke her name. The boy standing there wasn't Levi... in fact, it seemed a whole different person was right there.

"Mr.Ranson?" It didn't seem like him, didn't look like him... but he had been standing right there a moment before? The girl had never been more confused.

[Aureus]

It seemed Aurora was confused because of his change, and who wouldn't be? He had just totally changed himself. Things like that weren't common in any sense of the word. His condition was rare to say the least. And because of that people usually didn't accept him. The product of that was Aureus' anti social tendencies, and Levi. Levi was the expression of everything Aureus couldn't. They were total opposites, yet some how they managed to get along. They had to, sharing a body wasn't exactly easy and would be even harder if they argued all the time. When he was still living at the orphanage he had even been his only friend.

It had been a small mistake changing in front of Aurora, or near her anyways. Mixing and matching their friends caused problems. Mainly because Aureus didn't like to talk to anyone. He kept to himself. Levi on the other hand loved meeting people. Trying to end their conversation he raised his hand as a goodbye. "I can take it from here. Thanks again." He said, trying to sound a bit like Levi. Having to explain his condition wasn't something he felt like doing. Sure, he was kinda cutting their talk off, but it didn't matter. They both had class soon anyway, and with his schedule finding the room wouldn't be a problem. They'd meet again.
