David took a deep breath, trying his best to steady himself. He had heard of the fight that took place between Gabriel and Leon, the battle that ended with the Lightning Dragon on top. It wasn't a surprise to him- Leon was tough, stronger than anyone here in fact. He walked through the halls, looking over the students with a bemused expression on his face. Any one of them could break into a brawl at any moment. He wouldnt have to end it quickly, but it was like a constant little weight held over his head. He stopped. His thoughts began to twirl, resting on the beginning thoughts of Dragons.
He needed to fight one.
He began hunting, searching for any Dragon to cross his path so he could do battle. He had to prove to himself that Dragons werent invincible, that he could stand toe to toe with one to the end and come out on top. Mathew was a start- but it ended with a draw, one which he had a deep seeded dislike for. He WOULD have won....unfortunately, things didnt work out that time.
This instantance would be different though.
this time, he would fight for the Dragons title.
It all worked out in his mind, his feet carrying him, eyes searching for the face of one to challenge.

I haven't been here in some time..
Valo mused as he wandered the halls aimlessly. Blue eyes stared out past black bangs as he walked forward down the halls, getting some odd looks his way but he hadn't paid it much mind at all. It might have been the fact that he was wearing a collar, and the greaves protecting his feet and shins made him stand out even more so. He wore a short-sleeved black coat with the tail ending where his knees were, fingerless gloves, and boots underneath the greaves. Everyone he'd seen today were all dressed normally, but he had only been here five minutes so he wasn't too surprised. He was sure he'd see the other ones who stood out soon enough.
He had a strange feeling though, like something was going to happen soon. It kept him on his guard, but he also anticipated it.
Just then, there was a shout in the hall. Valo turned around slowly and saw a kid get pushed into a locker. A bigger student was about the beat the crap out of him. Calculating the distance, Valo was no more than twenty feet away, and as the guy raised his fist to punch the weaker student, it looked as if Valo had instantly disappeared from his spot. He appeared between the two students right as the guy's fist began to even move, and they both froze.
"I suggest you run away.[/i]" Valo said in a quiet voice to the big guy, who did so. The smaller student mumbled a thanks and ran off as well. Valo sighed as he looked at all of the people around him who were now focused on him. The Sky Dragon was back, and it wasn't hard to find him if you saw his speed.
This isn't what I was anticipating though, something more..

And David began charging his Qi.
He had stepped from around a corner as a rather large male raced passed him, a look of fright on his face. David frowned, turning to look in the firection the kid had come. He placed his hands in his pockets, walking forward, watching the man leaning against the wall. The guy was sighing, and David had a funny feeling....like he'd seen this guy before. He kept walking, then stopped, the recognition coming to his mind. He walked back, standing and leaning against the opposite hallway wall, students passing between them as David stared into the boys eyes. Soon, the halls were Empty, and David spoke.
"You seen any Dragons lately?"
He would wait for an answer. This kid held something. Like it was an air. Like...an aura, a look in the eyes that every person of power seemed to have. A look of smug superiority. this guy held an air of something else as well, an air of honor and integrity. Perhaps David was wrong in this assumption, but judging by the fact that a smaller kid had run away from the boy, this kid probably broke up a brawl.
He waited patiently, eyeing the kid with a look of curiosity.

"You seen any Dragons lately?"
...What? Valo looked at the person who had just approached him. He sensed a certain aura from this person as well, and Valo couldn't deny that he was already in front of someone who was much more extraordinary than the rest of the students he had seen so far.
"...Why do you want to know?[/i]"
Valo's guard was still up, but it wasn't really noticable. He wasn't just going to announce his status as a Dragon right away, he had to be sure what he was getting into first. He was curious as to why this guy was looking for one however, and the Sky Dragon insignia that was visible on his collar sure as hell gave away his position, but maybe the guy didn't recognize it.

He chuckled a little.
"If you were nobody, and had nothing to do with them, you would have told me. Besides-" His gaze did indeed flick down to the insigna. "-ive seen enough of your symbols to know you are one." He took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. He cracked his neck and looked up, before bringing his gaze back down to this...Powerful person. He unfolded his arms and stood straight, trying to sum up this guys skills and abilities. Though he knew what the symbol meant- that he was a Dragon- he was unsure of which kind, and so he simply issued what he came to issue, knowing that eventually he would find out.
"As a Dragon, you are sworn to uphold your honor and take pride in what you are." He paused a moment. "I challenge you to a fight for nothing more than pride and honor. I have fought your kind before, and have yet to be put down by a Dragon let alone totally impressed. I don't say this to insult, but i say it to push myself, for while your kind has yet to be me, i have yet to beat one of your kind. It is for this reason i challenge you." He thought a moment. "I also challenge you because i believe that, if Dragons are the best i feel i should be one. If i join this group of...legendary fighters, perhaps i can show they are not all evil. At least, not as evil as the ones i have fought."
He finished his monologue, never pulling his eyes away from his soon-to-be adversary.
"Do you accept my challenge?"

"So that is your intention..[/i]"
Valo couldn't keep himself from grinning, this is what he felt would happen. There was no way he could possibly refuse his challenge, he had to get his blood flowing again after having been inactive for so long. He was sure his skills were rusty, but he would be able to pick up his skills again during the fight, he assumed so at the least.
"How can I refuse?[/i]"
Valo quickly moved from his spot, dashing behind his opponent, distancing himself about ten feet away down the hall to gain some space, he didn't like being up against the lockers.
"If you prove yourself to a Dragon, you have every right to become one yourself. The Dragon gives the new Dragon their name.[/i]"
Valo turned around to face the other boy, his fists clenched tightly. "Let's see if you have what it takes.[/i]"

Post by Mitsuki Park on Aug 30, 2009 18:11:11 GMT -8
...to be totally honest, the whole idea of being a dragon seemed somewhat overrated to Mitsuki. It was just a title - like the school captain title. It was pretty much jacksh*t. All hers did was give her special privileges in school; being a dragon at PHS 259 didn't do anything other than make people think you have a cool/cliche name. And perhaps arouse some fear from the weaker students, but other than that? Anyway, Mitsuki kept her opinion to herself. She didn't want to go offending the students that attend the school - dragon or not. Maybe she should become a turtle. They live long lives, right? She mentally sighed; David Blaze went about challenging a transfer for the sake of being the best. Figures, she thought, a small smile crossing her face. As for the boy, whether he's been at the school for a while or if he was new was beyond her. But if he was a dragon, then he must have kept a low profile because he was not very well known. Not if Mitsuki didn't hear about him.
She stood feet away, spectating just as the others in the near by vicinity. She never really got to see David go all out in a fight, and she's only seen two dragons in action, and they were in a bout with each other.
Although she thought the title itself of being called a dragon was a little ridiculous and seemed like child's play, Mitsuki was curious as to what sort of quota a dragon had to fill. Super strong? Super fast? She set her expectations for the dragon a little lower than usual, only because she wanted to be impressed. So, patiently, the young captain waited to see the event unfold before her.

David wasn't doing this to prove to anyone else he was the best- just to prove it to himself. He had to. If he was the best, then he could protect everyone, and not a soul could stand in his way.He vanished, re-appearing in front of the fellow almost as quickly as he did, though a little slower standing a few feet away in front of him. He grinned as the boy spoke of accepting his challenge. He was glad. Now, not only would he prove to himself that he could contend and beat those who were considered better than everyone else, he would join thier group and show the world that, no matter what, everyone was human and even if he was a Dragon he could be civil and good and just.
He stepped so his left side was facing his enemy, this individual born and bred of speed. It was obvious that, currently, that was his strength, and he loved that they would go toe to toe in it. He was a man of gifted speed too, so he turned his body so his left side was facing his opponent. He brought up his left arm at a right angle, the hand open and looking like a claw. His right hand went to his abdoment, palm open and up, only flat. He bent his legs at the knees, centering his gravity and living in the rush of adrenaline that coursed through his veins.
"So- before we begin- do you have a name?"

"Valo. The Sky Dragon.[/i]"
He said almost quietly, not adopting any stance of his own. He figured he would be moving too much to really need a stance. His opponent's stance wasn't something he was familiar with, but he would attempt to pick out how he finds and look for any flaws in his attack to use to his advantage.
"And you?[/i]"
Valo wondered what the accepted opinion of being a Dragon was around here. Were they considered fearsome and dangerous? He sure as hell knew they weren't considered saints who saved people and got cats from trees, but he wasn't a destroyer even if his name signified it. At the very least, he considered himself different from the other Dragons, but it was fair to say they were all different in their own ways. He wanted to see what this boy was like, and how he too would be different.

"David Blaze."
He smiled calmly.
"Ex-Dragon Slayer."
He gave a small title of his own only because he could remember being called it. Many people felt his battle with the Earth Dragon epic and a pointmaker. Before him, people would cower before Mathew, and watch in fear as he beat on students for his own amusement. Of course, though David hadn't beat him, many had thought the if they had gone un-interrupted he might have. Many felt the same about Mathew, but regardless of all speculation it was a battle that wouldnt be decided in this day and age.
A small gust of air came through the hall, given by the opening of a side doorway. He waited, watching.
"I'll give you the honor of the first move, Dragon."

"Ex-Dragon Slayer? That makes things interesting.[/i]"
Valo's fist clenched tightly; if this guy truly had experience fighting a Dragon, then he may possibly put up more of a fight than Valo initially thought he would.
"The first move? Fine by me.[/i]"
Valo watched his opponent for a moment again before he vanished from his spot. He quickly appeared above David, his fist cocked backwards. Swiftly, as he dropped down on his enemy, he would throw his right fist out towards his face in a simple attack. There was a 95% probability that this attack would fail and likely be countered, but it was for a simple start and to see what his enemy would do.

Statistics rarely lie.
David had a wealth of his own speed, and though this boy currently outclassed him, it wasnt by a massive enough margin that he couldn't try his best to keep up. His gaze shot upwards as he saw the Dragon coming down on him. He used the left hand to grab the fist, clenching it as tightly as he could. He wasn't afraid the dragon would pull out, he just did it to show that he had more power in his muscles then the Dragon would like to imagine. He would pull, stepping backwards with his left leg and shooting his right fist straight for the Sky Dragons Stomach, twisting his torso and using the added momentum of his backstep to put some added power and speed behind it.
He quickly went over thoughts in his head.
Earth Dragon- hard to give pain.
Lightning Dragon- Controlled lightning.
Sky Dragon-
Thoughts formed in his head.
'Shit.'
