No, it was never about the fame that came with the title of being Student Body President that made Alex want it in the first place, far from it in actuality. He had been a Pillar before, Student Body President in fact, so fame was not the reason. "... What I want to do, can be done without the title of Student Body President, that much I know and kept in mind. But in this school... No, this world, power seems to be the only way to make any difference. This is not strength I want for myself. Power for the sake of having power was never my purpose. But," Alex said, as he lifted his eyes up, a straightforward look in his eyes, "If I have the opportunity to use it to make a difference, then I will."
Alex turned his head, and looked slightly behind him, down at the school grounds, or at least, what he could make out in the evening. "There is something I want to do. It may never happen. But still... If I can make it happen... I'd like to." Alex was simply being logical in his reasoning. He had spent much of his high school years inside two prison schools, and had seen just how much of an influence power had among the students. The strong rose above, but again, what true strength was, was up to one's interpretation of it. How and what one interpreted it as, could be seen from at different angles.

"Then, hypothetically, once you complete whatever it is you want to do," Mitsuki continued, "What then?"
Mitsuki did not ask him what it is he wanted to accomplish, but if need be, she would ask him. What she wanted to know right now was what he would do once he accomplishes his goal. What purpose would he have to continue being Student Body President? What will drive him forward then? He was right when he said power seems to be the only way to make a difference, but to be Student Body President isn't that much power. It's simply a title - nothing more, nothing less. A title is nothing without a reputation; did Alex have a history? Is he able to hold his ground? Or will Mitsuki have to watch from the side as he loses his first challenge for his title? In the past, Mitsuki had a knack of simply giving people their pillar positions after a simple test. Unfortunately, Mitsuki now knew the down-side consequences that followed her quick decisions.

"If, hypothetically, I were to accomplish what I wanted to do, that would be only what I wanted. My goals are not the only ones out there. There are those out there, who want to accomplish something, but lack the power to do so. I want to help those who can't, simply because they lack the power to put into motion what it is they want." Alex replied simply, getting straight to the point. It's not like making his answers any more eloquent would do very much. "I've seen what having a Pillar title can do. I know, I've been a Student Body President before, back at my old high school, Point Hope High." Alex briefly closed his eyes, his face still frighteningly calm.
"I do not know if I possess the abilities to keep a firm hold on the title, but David Blaze placed faith in what I said to him, and I am determined to make sure his trust is not misplaced. I will do everything in my power, to make sure the title does not fall into the wrong hands." Alex slowly opened his eyes, looking over at Mitsuki, his eyes set as solid as flint, unwavering. It did not matter to him how Mitsuki took his words, but he was speaking nothing but the truth. "I will fight to ensure that no one that does not deserve or is not worthy of the title, will take it away from me."
