Reira’s elbow rested on the bar counter, her chin resting in its palm. Her eyes were solely focused on his face as he explained the origins of the ring, an amused spread across her features. Look at her Alex, all growing up! She couldn’t help but giggle when he tried to explain. He was so cute. His girlfriend was a lucky girl to capture Alex’s heart. He’d definitely treat her well.
“Believe me, eighteen is way too young,” she said, talking from experience. “I just got a divorce a few days ago actually…” Ick, she remembered how that went. It was fifteen minutes of awkwardness and impatience. Plus bombardments of useless questions. Not fun. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. “I’m happy for you,” she said with a bright smile. “I wish you nothing but a non-drama filled relationship!” She had to laugh at that.
Oh Reira. Did she even have one relationship that she could call normal? Thinking back on it…nope. There was always some form of drama, lines that went ‘he said’, ‘she said’, and tons of other things that made her love life a freaking roller coaster of uncontrollable events. She could only hope that her and Gabriel would work out. Something told her that she was just wishful thinking. FML.
Sighing, she once again looked at him. “Well, what now? Any bright ideas slick?”

Alex rubbed the back of his head in slight embarrassment when he heard Reira giggle at him, not realizing his attempt to explain made him seem cute. Cute was something not normally associated with Alex. The King of Sarcasm or The Flame Master yes, but cute? Not exactly. "Yeah, it is," Alex agreed, as he nodded his head slightly in agreement, "But on the bright side, at least you have some freedom, and can be with whomever you want to, right?" Any freedom, no matter how little it was, was better than none at all. "Heh, your life has been nothing but drama hasn't it? I think the only time you ever had a normal time in your life was our first encounter with each other." Alex definitely wouldn't forget that moment, it was the most fun he had in... well, forever. You thought Alex's life was complicated? Reira's life made his look normal! "I hope you find someone who'll make you happy, and if you already have, he better treat you right, and if he doesn't, I'll come and break him!" Alex joked, as he cracked his knuckles menacingly, before laughing.
"Only joking. But I really do wish you a good life, I think you've experienced enough drama to fill up a novel or two." Reira really was his best friend, even though the two of them hadn't hung out as often, he still was glad she was here. "Hmm... Well, considering your current situation," He began, as he gripped his chin in a thinking manner, peering down at her feet, "I suppose a movie is out of the question. I wouldn't even want to step on the floor barefoot, no matter how dirty my feet are." He then finished off his drink, as an idea came to him. While it was true they couldn't go to a movie, didn't mean they couldn't watch something. "How about we head back to my apartment and watch a DVD or something? My apartment's pretty close, though I think I still have to carry you there." Alex laughed, as he placed down some money to pay for the drinks. "How about it Rei? You down with that?"

The girl listened to his words and had to agree. Yes, she was free, she grew up with perhaps too much freedom. But sometimes freedom was one lonely road. But such was not to be dealt with at this time, she was having fun, and she was loving her life here, so what’s to complain? Smiling she thanked Alex for his little notion of beating anyone up who dared do her harm. He really was a sweetheart and she was ever so thankful that they were best friends.
“Thanks Alex….for everything. And you know I do wish the same for you as well. And if you ever need anything, say like money, help with absolutely anything at all, I’ll be there and don’t you dare hesitate to call me!” She meant it too. She wanted to be there for him as much as he was there for her. It was what friends do right. They were close friends too, so the more the better. Then the question came up as to what to do now. Reira only had one drink and wasn’t looking to get drunk. A movie was brought up, but she shook her head at the notion, not wanting to go into the theatre shoeless.
“That sounds awesome!,” she said, agreeing to his suggestion of going back to his house to watch a DVD. “As long as I get to pick the movie, oh and use the shower…I feel so gross walking barefoot for so long!” Hopping off her chair, she once again climbed onto his back and wiggled her legs. Her laugh echoing throughout the bar. “Lead the way oh fearless leader!”

Alex nodded his head slightly, returning the smile Reira gave him, as he waved his hand casually. There was no need to thank him, the two of them were friends, and despite his sarcastic and cynical nature, Alex cared for his friends more than anything. "Thanks Reira, but I think I'm pretty good financial-wise, although how I obtained the money I have now, I wish my father, Kane Hikari, didn't have to die." For the first time in a long while, a somber look appeared on Alex's face, as he remembered the past memories of his father. But Alex would shed no tears, he had done all the crying he needed to back at St. Paragon's, he would cry no more. Besides, no amount of tears would bring his father back, and Alex still had Kyoko, who was living in the apartment room beside his, the two of them refusing to be apart from each other. If he had his sister, his friends, and most important of all, Emily, then Alex would be alright. "But if you ever need anything too, just call me and I'll come running." Now about what they should do now. Alex had only one drink, and he was not keen on getting drunk. A movie was out of the question, Alex would not wish walking barefoot into a movie theater on anyone, but they could still watch a movie, but back at his clean, gum-free apartment.
"Alright alright, you can pick the movie," Alex conceded, as he sighed teasingly, "And of course you can use the bathroom, it'd be the height of rudeness for me to deny you the use of that room." He saw her hop off her chair before once more hopping onto his back, wiggling her legs as he chuckled softly. "Right, Wonder Girl Pink!" He chimed in, as he headed out of the bar, unlike Point Hope, or even San Francisco, Long Beach was warm, so instead of a cold breeze hitting Alex's face, a warm breeze fluttered around, as Alex walked back to his apartment, which was close by. A few minutes later, he reached it, and climbed up the stairs, and walked to his door. "Rei, can you fish my key out of my jacket pocket, and unlock and open the door?" He asked, once she did, he would head in and pulled off his shoes. He would close the door with his foot, and then carry Reira to the bathroom, setting her down on top of the toilet. "Here, you can use the shower, I'll bring a towel for you to use. You need anything, just ask me, alright?"

Oh right, the keys! Fumbling her hand into his pocket, she finally got a hold of the stubborn keys and unlocked the doors for him. Once that was done, she gave him back the keys and was place safely onto the toilet seat. Yaay! Looking around she had to say, Alex had himself a nice, cozy place. She liked it. Then again, Reira liked anything about Alex, the kid had grown on her way too much. He then gave her permission to use the shower and handed her a towel.
“Thanks! I’m fine, I won’t take long either.”
Shooing him out of the room, she shut the door, stripped and hopped into the shower. When she said she wouldn’t be long, she meant twenty minutes later. Reira left the bathroom room, her feet nice and clean, her hair bunched up into the towel on her head, wearing the clothes she walked into the bathroom with. She felt much better. It was nice..you know..to have clean feet again. She found Alex in the living room waiting for her.
“Let’s see. A movie eh…hmm. Oh, how about Zombieland!? I love that movie!” It was an awesome comedy! One she actually enjoyed without thinking it was too stupid. “How does that sound?” She would hop on the couch beside him, wrapping herself into a random blanket she found on it. Yep, she was right at home. See, told you the place was freaking cozy. Her behaviour didn’t seem strange to her either, she’d expect the same thing from Alex if he ever decided to visit her beach house. In fact, she would consider it perfectly normal if she walked up to her kitchen fridge and made dinner for himself.

Alex felt Reira fish into his pocket and fumble around as he waited as patiently as he could for her to unlock the door, which was saying something, considering he was carrying a girl piggy-back style on his back. Once she unlocked the door, he felt her place his keys back into his pocket, as he pushed the door open with his foot, and went in, closing it with his foot. He then rushed into the bathroom and deposited Reira on the toilet, and gave her permission to use the shower, as he walked out into the hallway and opened the closet, pulling out a towel for her to use. He then went back into the bathroom, and handed it to her. "Fine fine, the third wheel is leaving." He sighed teasingly, as she shooed him out of the bathroom. Won't take long she says. Won't take long my ass. That translated into 20 minutes she was in the shower. During that time, Alex had cooked up something for the two of them to eat, and by the time Reira had finished, he was already in the living room, waiting for her.
"About time you came out, I was about to call a S.W.A.T. team to go and search for you." He teased, as he held a bowl of rice and a piece of rolled egg in the chopsticks he held. "Sure, Zombieland sounds fine." Alex replied, as he popped the piece of egg into his mouth before laying his chopsticks on top of his bowl, and walked to the TV, and pulled out the DVD, and popped it in. He then hopped back onto the couch beside her, and ate while he watched the movie, though it didn't last long, as Reira had fallen asleep, the blanket she had on tends to do that to people. Stopping the movie, Alex would gently lay her down on the couch, it was getting pretty late. Just as he wondered how Reira would get home, speak of the devil, he heard a honk outside, and crossed over to the window, and saw a limo parked outside, as a guy climbed out of it. Picking Reira up, he would carry her in his arms and head to the front of the apartments. He was then introduced to Reira's uncle, Demetri, as he gently deposited Reira inside the limo.
Nodding curtly but respectfully to Demetri, Alex stepped back as Demetri climbed back into the limo and watched the limo pull out and drive away, before heading back into his apartment. He really was glad to have his best friend back.
