Sainthood would be reserved for those whom deserved it. It hadn't even been a day since David was crucified that Gabriel himself defied the fate of mere mortals taking his pain and burying it away behind the guise of the Angel of Death. Was it the duty of angels to protect the saints? Or at the very least it had been at one point the instruction to guide them through their perils.
Gabriel Seran was a lost soul at this point purposefulness meant fairly little anymore as he strolled the hallways of Public high school #259 as though he were the living dead, all too convenient for Hallows Eve. His long corroded coat torn from the exposure of an extreme heat. He'd gone from high ranking regality to common peasant eloping about for neglegence.
Gbriel found himself now at a crossroads, there were things that needed to be done and yet he couldn't get past his current stigma. Leaning against a pillar Gabriel fell to the floor feeling a weakness he'd never felt before, the black hole where his heart possessed. Stinging him eternally.

"Just take the money and turn a blind eye for a day- its easy- all pillars do it."
"Not me. And not my pillars. Get to class."
The boy put the money back into his pocket, nearly 2500 dollars in cash. He glared at David, tempted to attack the School Captain where he stood. He wanted to feel his blood on his skin, see his face stain the ground red. But he knew he couldn't- he didnt have the strength for such things.
"One day you will fall, captain, and know that i'll be there to see it."
The boy turned, leading his small group of ten to twenty students back the way they came, the small gnag dispersing and walking off to thier individual places. David stared after them, his eyes hard, waiting for one of them to turn back and attack him, to test the limits as to what he could do. He wasn't worried- the kids were average fighters, though the leader had some keen thought and mind. David turned to footsteps, hands in his pockets as he watched Gabriel Seran lean again a pillar a little ways away. He sighed. He had yet to thank the Dragon for his part in what happened with Bastille, and for not jumping on the chance to steal his title from under his feet. He would, begrudgingly, give Gabriel the option of a favor. He walked over, stopping a few feet away.
"So- Gabriel. Why the down look, eh?" He took a deep breath. "Before you answer, know that i am grateful for what you did a few days ago. Taking my title while i was vulnerable must have been tempting. I owe you one." He leaned against the table that would be sitting directly in front of the boy.
"Whats on your mind?"

At first Gabriel wasn't in the mood to deal with another encounter with David, he didn't want to fight he wanted everything to just stop and become solitary. Wars, power, corruption everything held no meaning for a time as he sat there. Then of course he said he was grateful for Gabriel doing what he did when the boy had been stabbed. All Gabriel could do was nod unsure of the implications of his speach.
"Whats on your mind?"
He didn't want to say, he was so very cold at the moment any word or sylabal would crush Gabriel, make him weak for teh world to see and that was purely unacceptable. But then again he'd break more easily now.
"You were right... hph, You were right about me." Gabriel said slowly as his mood went from bad to worse feeling disgusted with himself, although the silverlining was making the right choice.
What was right?

Davids disconcerting frown deepened at the look on Gabriels face. Of course, normally David wouldn't care if Gabriel was in a sour mood because gabriel had a habit of destroying things when he was in such a mood and it made David force himself to the mode of School Captain. He tilted his head a little to the left. This time was a little different though. He had offered Gabriel a favor and the young kid overlooked it without a sneer or gloat, and this made him wonder what could have put him in such a downward spiral position. He folded his arms and studied the boy.
"What do you mean, i was right about you?"
There were many things David assumed and guessed and knew about Gabriels behavior, but he knew that what he must have ben talking about would be more recent then that. It made him wonder what had pushed the boy to that level, what made him look inside and decide that David Blaze, School Captain and shaky ally of the nova dragon was right. He mulled it over, but in the end decided to let the boy speak his peace.
He would soon see.

Gabriel felt a stupid chuckle rise up, it wasn't a cheerful grin or smile or chuckle but something more sickly and conflicted as though he'd had a rapid change of thought and severe troubles toll over him.
"You were right when I chose Rei over Alexis...I don't know why I was so stupid...I should have thought...I should have...Gra!" Gabriel slammed his fist into the ground making a small indent into the ground watching the small cracks grow across the ground.
"I want to make a difference but everytime I try I push people away....I don't have the power to do anything..." Gabriel started ranting off as he sat there at this point somewhat talking to himself as opposed to David, the man needed to be more constructive; he needed a goal, Job or duty. Everything else seemed counter productive.

David cocked an eyebrow.
"Perhaps your going about it in the wrong way- this change." He would shrug.
"You constantly want to make a huge difference, but your using tools and methods that, in the end, turn on yourself and those around you. You make people worry and think you are trying to hurt them, when it is for good reason based on past actions." He sighed. "You think that people are tools and that the system and law with it is nothing but a means to bring about change. The system now is, admittedly, broken, but it can be kept afloat by those who want to keep it that way. I'm no fan of any one person sitting in power- you said yourself that you want the pillar system gone. I don't blame you- having it just tells other people that we pillars are above them just because we know how to throw a punch."
He scratched his head.
"But in all honesty, the Social Hierarchy is the only foundation for stable order we currently possess, and though the ideas you have brought before me have shown that they may work, there are other individuals whose pride and greed would lead them to take control simply by force." He stared at Gabriel hard.
"As for Alexis- i know i was right. Take that statement as an ego trip or a i told you so, but that fact remains. I only hope you don't intend to pounce on Alexis and make her yours now that the old girl has left you." David had NO CLUE if that was the case, but he assumed it was so, otherwise Gabriel never would have made such a statement. He knew that, if Alexis went with her and hurt her, he would find the young Dragon again, and this time, make sure his punishment was slower. He licked his lips.
"You know-" He grinned. "-If you weren't such a stubborn individual, constantly set in your ways and if i knew that you wouldnt stab me in the back first chance you got, i may consider you for a pillar."
Ah...well. It wasn't likely, but you never know.
Besides, he still needed to speak with Mitsuki.

GAbriel didn't have the energy to argue here. He ddin't care if David preached his moral's or goals unto him because both sides were wrong. He was crucified for his intentions and though nothing bad came of it other than some blood lose and a possible fued, David had been saved by others. It wasn't what Gabriel needed now he didn't need to be put down in the dirt or treated as though he was any lesser than David because thats what he certainly was feeling now only anguish building rather than relief. But he would control it bite down and bear it. The end justified the means and while David didn't believe that he was a constant footnote to the ideal without even trying.
Hmph. Gabriel felt an attmept at being grateful though couldn't put the front forward.
"Keep an attitude like that David and you won't last long where you stand....It's not a threat, simply a warning." Gabriel breathed lightly looking down still.
The whole conversation he'd yet to make eye contact, a weight pulled his gaze down and kept him occupied. A warm sensation around his palm as he noticed he'd been bleeding since the contact with the ground. Hmph.

He chuckled.
"Yeah, maybe."
Agreement in the house say wut?
David stared at Gabriel, wondering what the boy had done or what had happened to cause such a strange feeling in him. Gabriel didn't want to look at him when usually, glaring and a stare down were top of the list for him.
"So, what happened? With Alexis and Reira, i mean."
Swift change back to the topic at hand.
OOC((Disgraceful post. My apologies.))

(ooc: seriously had to think on my reaction here..)
Gabriel's crimson eyes shot up in violent admittance, he didn't want to think on the matter nor was it David's purpose to edge in. This was Gabriel's weight to bear, as were the plans to come they were his alone. Gabriel rose up pushing Blaze back and shot the fellow a nasty glance.
"That is none of your concern Captain! I'd suggest you stick your nose into your own duties before someone else takes it upon themselves to do so." Gabriel felt a defensive snarl rise up.
Of course he was insinuating that he himself would deal with David. Gabriel had been eyeing the Captain and Student Body President's positions for some time, in the place he could reaffirm his strategy add essentially put an end to the conflict. Or make it worse. Either way there would be balance.

David laughed. No anger, no outragous threats and vows. He just laughed.
"Gabriel, if we fought every time one of us became offended, this whole place would be up in flames. To be honest, im tired of fighting with you. If you feel the need to spout of empty words about how your going to replace me, about how you will do this and that, then simply do not converse with me. I will always protect students here and this school, and obey the laws. If you want to try- and i do mean try- and replace me, then openly challenge me and quit fucking around with it. And, after i beat you again, don't bother coming back for another beating. This is really getting old." He shrugged. "However, if you think you can control your obvious anger and constant dick measuring for five seconds, perhaps me and you could have a conversation. Or you can attack me, and i can stain my hands red with your blood once again."
He would wait, and if Gabriel calmed himself, he would politely continue.
"Understand this- i have spoken with Alexis- she is my friend. I don't want to see her hurt, and its for that reason im talking to you. I want to see her taken care of- because she deserves nothing but the best. Thats the reason i asked, and i would have said so if you hadn't gotten all self rightous and loony on me."
If Gabriel refused or attacked, David would respond like-wise, sighing in his head at another battle between himself and the Noca Dragon.

Gabriel chuckled a bit on his response. Tired of him? He'd yet to seen the force Gabriel could deliver. Of course he was forgetting Ground Zero where Gabriel controlled every outcome, and where David stood paralyzed. Despite his words being School Captain meant more than simply protecting the innocents, it meant having to make a decision even when the odds seemed stacked in either direction. Gabriel was willing to do that, he was willing to take the blows and suffer the heartache. Pain was life.
"You've yet to see anything yet..."
He chuckled darkly, the matter concerning Alexis was over as far as he was concerned if anything Gabriel would have someone to provide for her, but Gabriel would end up dying for his ambitions. He was wrong for everyone, but in the same sense he was what was right. Contradicting statments that held an eternity of value.
"As for Alexis, I'd suggest you keep your distance... wouldn't want your preechings to hurt her more than my own actions." Gabriel felt the poision lace his words.
He had respected David but seemed destiny fated then to battle for eternities. Then soon enough it would begin. Like the past? No, Gabriel had the future in store.
"I saved you once....don't expect my guard to fall next time..." Gabriel grinned darkly pulling himself up, "I'll be seeing you." The dark smile turned into a laugh.

David said nothing, spoke nothing of thier battles, of how many times Gabriel lay crumpled at his feet and he had taken him to the hospital instead of leaving him there to die. He said nothing of it. It may be easy for Gabriel to help him, but only now did David realize the only reason he wanted to help was if something was in it for him.
At least the times David saved his ass, it was out of the goodness of his heart.
"I'm sure you will."
David would turn, whether Gabriel stopped or not, and begin walking away, the School Captain not caring to hear any more of Gabriels pretentios ramblings. He was tired- tired of a never ending struggle with this Dragon. The boy thought himself better than David, thought he knew what was best for everyone- what he didnt understand was that every time a little plot or goal jumped into his head, he showed he was nothing more than a child. Always trying to be on top, always wanting to be the pinnacle of some change, wanting to alter the world to something he viewed as better.
'Every time we speak- you threaten and warn, and either attack me or walk away. Go ahead Gabriel- walk away from your problem with nothing but empty threats. Go chew the webs of some plot you keep trying to string. Know that, where we are, here in the real world, you mean just as little as i do outside these walls, and when graduation day comes, you'll leave this place behind, just like the rest of us.'
He wouldn't argue with this Dragon again. If gabriel wanted to be self rightous and claim to know all- well, David may just give it to him. Give him the title of School Captain. Gabriel, in truth, knew nothing of true purpose- thats why he always tried to find a way to change something, so he could have a purpose. Perhaps if he looked deep enough he would understand- everything he did gave more harm then good, and still he fought on. David gritted his teeth. He was Captain. Gabriel was unfit for it.
Best not to let his anger get the better of him.
