Ah, sunshine.
David lay in the grass, the warm sun beating down on his face and chest with a blind intensity. His shirt lay crumpled beside him, the students having gone home for the day and the School Captain finishing the self-made shift that was set. Four more hours. Of course, nobody inside would have any issues- most bullies didnt stick around when he was on campus, choosing instead to leave school and rejoin their gangs to rampage some other stage of existance. He inhaled deeply, exhaling in a most relaxed way. It had been a long, hard week for him. His hands were scabbed over where Bastille had stuck him to the wall, and his chest was finally fully healed, the scar from the bullet he had taken last week the only real sign it ever happened.
School.
It seemed like such a simple, trivial thing. Get up. Go to class. Do your work. Go home. But so many people felt it was their right and within their power to rule such a simple, unimportant plot of land. Once they got old enough, they would graduate, and the disjointed piece of earth that was this building would matter little to them all. Yet still, he was the bad guy, hated by many and feared by the rest, all because of a stupid title someone had decided to invent and create. Rule. Control. It meant little here without a superior authority. Without someone who actually stepped up and claimed headmaster, took them back to the days when students listened to their elders and obeyed the laws.
In the end, what he did, was nothing but a controlled chaotic rule.
He pushed the thoughts from his mind, trying to bring himself to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, the slow breeze on his skin, the warmth. Probably the last warm day they would have in a very long time. Why waste it on those kinds of thoughts? He smiled.
'Just lay back and try to enjoy yourself Dave. The next few weeks won't be pretty.'

Alexis walked down the path of the school. She was feeling all happy and such. Her head phones were in listening to a song that made her mood all the better. Of course, she was singing along, not caring what others were thinking. Lexi just walked on with a bounce in her step, swinging her keys on her finger by using the key ring. It was good to be "back". The song ended and she just continued whistling the beat. Alexis turned her music off, still carrying on the beat of the song that was now passed over. Then she saw good old David. Such a kick ass friend. Alexis decided then, to skip up to him, and jump on him with a big smile... now she was straddling him and she looked happier than ever. Probably caught him off guard with the tackle though. "G'day, mate!" and she realized she couldn't sound any more Australian than she was. With her hand, she scruffed David's hair with a little giggle. "How is my lil' bugga?!" Her mood was definitely different from the last time they saw each other. |

"OOF-!"
David jumped, letting out a grunt as Alexis hopped on top of him. He laughed a little when he looked at her smiling face- it was a big step from the time he last saw her. Something must of happened, and though he kept the grin on his face, it worried him. He hoped and prayed she hadn't done something to or for Gabriel Seran- this would only cause a slight disturbance for him. He reached up, grabbing her by the sides and rolling over so that he was now on top of her, rather provacatively resting between her legs. He would sit up and, to the average individual who knew nothing about what was going on, it would appear that they were, in fact, banging. He put his hands on his hips.
"And what, my dear, has put you in such a happy mood!?"
He would then proceed to tickle her, trying to get her to speak while he did so, all the while taunting her.
"What? What did you say? I can't hear you i thought you were going to explain why your in such a good mood!?"
Yeah, she wanted to be playful? He was down.

He grabbed her waist and the tables had turned. Now she was laying on her back and he was...well, in between her legs.
"And what, my dear, has put you in such a happy mood!?" she wasn't sure if she wanted to tell him quite yet. After all, he seemed rather pissed Gabriel did what he did from the last time she had seen David. Though, she wasn't going to lie...HOLY FUCK she hasn't lied in awhile. Did she get over her pseudologia fantastica? Highly unlikely. She just had a feeling that these guys she had been talking to lately could tell if she was telling the truth or not. It would basically be useless if she lied.
She puckered her lips and tapped her chin...pretending it was hard to think of the answer..until he started tickling her. Alexis laughed, trying to stop the evil tickle monster.
"HAHA Stop! I can't! HAHA I can't tell you HAHA while you're tickling mehehehehehe!"
If he stopped, she would catch her breath and just smile at him, her eyes gleaming with joy. "Gabriel and I are friends again... I want to thank you for being such a good friend and pushing me out of the dark hole I was in... You were right..Things will look up." she would grab him by the nape of the neck and bring him close to place a kiss on his lips. Not a hardcore tonsil hockey kiss.. but just a elongated placement of her lips on his... of course with the sound of an exaggerated "MUAAAH" she would flop back down on her back and rest her head on her arms that were now crossed and placed under her head.

David cocked an eyebrow, a skeptical smile still on his face, though inside he had a small boiling of anger.
'Gabriel...you fuck this up and i swear, i'll crack your head aga-'
His thought was cut short as she pulled him in close, placing a kiss to his lips. He whipped his hands down....and placed them in the grass, holding himself up as she did so, his eyes wide at her. Once she pulled away he would stare for a few moments more, trying to get the image of her soft lips pressed to his out of his mind before he let it all go with a laugh, sitting back and placing his hands behind hi head. A kid to the right of them saw the couple, David leaning back with his mouth in what appeared to be a moan, and Alexis laying as she was. Blood spurted from the students nostrils before he turned and shuffled away, David not even realizing what it looked like. He rolled over onto his back again, looking up at the sky.
"Well, i've never been thanked with a kiss before, though i can't say i mind it."
He laughed a little, then popped the question.
"Will you marry me?"
No, not that question, idiot!
"So how did this come about?"
Thats better.

She laughed at how surprised he was. It was something Alexis did... for awhile she didn't but that was do to some serious depression shit. Now she was on top of her game. he laid on his back, they were now both staring up to the sky.
"So how did this come about?"
Well... if she told him it would just sound bad.
"It started at the Halloween dance... I apologized for rashing out and saying mean shit... then another night....I heard some news of his cousin and invited him over...I though I would offer my ear, though I expected him to be occupied with Reira... but there was more to his bad situation that involved her.... then...yeah...We hung out that night...just basking in each others' company."
It was a little mean Alexis was happy Reira did what she did. Sounds horrible, but that was who Alexis was... very smug and cocky... especially when she got what she wanted really bad.
"I'm....just so happy. He makes me so happy." her smile was warm and it felt as if her chest had a lot of heat radiating from it. She couldn't remember being so happy. It felt like she was on to of the world.
"I know you probably don't like it..." her headed titled to face David's and she would show him a crooked smile, "But you have to understand he makes me feel different."

Davids eyebrows drew down.
"I hate to ask this Alexis but...how do you know he's just not settling for you because he couldn't have her? Your worth far, far more than a settlement, and you could really get yourself a man who would treat you right. You are correct when you say i wont like it- but above all i want to see you happy."
If she told him that she wanted Gabriel, she didnt care, or anything like that, he would sigh.
"I don't understand it but if its what you want and what you feel than...You have my best wishes. Though Gabriel better take care of you, or i'll break his head like i did the last time."
OOPS!
Did he just let that slip?

Alexis rolled her eyes as he went on a rant. Yes, she obviously thought of the fact that she could very well be a rebound girl. Not like she already felt like one before Reira showed up... After all, Olivia was his "true" love.
After he had everything to say, including the fact he wanted Gabriel to take care of her, she would finally talk.
"David... people are capable of loving more than one person. I'm one of those people. I'm seeing past the wrong he had done..I'm willing to forgive. People make mistakes and- What?"
Lexi sat up quickly. She glared at him, a shit eating grin and those green eyes that can act like daggers and pierce through the thickest of skin. "You.... You fucking fight him? I told you not to, what the fuck is your problem?!"
Alexis was one that did not fight to solve her problems. Yeah, Gabriel hurt her a lot more than anyone has done before... but she felt he was different.. she felt that he actually cared about her, but he just didn't realize it. As she said, people are capable of loving more than one person. If it was such a bad thing, guess Alexis is a bad girl, 'cause she loved Li...probably still does. Though she is still crazy over Gabriel. Alexis had hurt people before... and she wouldn't know what to do if they didn't forgive her.
Olivia... she left her at a young age, abandoning her. Olivia forgave her and showed up at her front door.
She broke up with Li the first time, telling him horrible things and lying about her love for him... he forgave her.
Gabriel needed to be forgiven.

Gabriel sat up and stared back, not answering right away.
"You know, me and Gabriel have been enemies for quite a long time- Don't know if he told you that or not. I'm very protective of my friends, and i TRIED to talk with him before he went off about how it was none of my business. So, i told him he disgusted me, and he attacked. I won. Simple." He hooked his arms around his knees.
"You need to understand more of who Gabriel is- he almost killed a child to get his way. He will stop at nothing to finalize a change that doesnt need to be insituted. He thinks me- the School Captain- a fool, that i will be as a tool for him, someone to use and grow power from. He's a fool with a constant stream of plans and ambitions, and what he doesnt understand is that while i protect the school, i also keep up on my studies, and when i leave here i will be moving on to other things. In the grand scheme- when he graduates, he will too." He looked away.
"I'm sorry if that upsets you, that i fought him. If it helps- i doub it would have been avoided. In the future, im sure he plans to corner me with his little gang and take the title i hold by force of numbers. If thats what he wants, thats what he wants." He looked at Alexis.
"I know your in his gang, and i know you care about him more than you do me. If you plan to tell him im not an idiot- go ahead. If you hate me for bad mouthing him, i understand. But don't think even for a second that Gabriel has pulled some thick sheet over my eyes and im just a walking bafoon. He's not as sly and smart as he likes to make everyone think."
Well, obviously David was a little worked up over Gabriel Seran.

Alexis listened to his speech with distaste. It only annoyed her how he was bent on making her hate him. Her eyes left David and searched for more interesting things to look at. All she could do was listen to him as she clenched her teeth and hoped he would finish soon. Finally she heard no more words coming from him and now she could talk.
"Maybe Gabriel had not told me he was your enemy because he doesn't preach hate to others. You know David... it would seem you don't get that people can change. Look at me...I used to con loads off of money and lie to children about getting their dreams of becoming famous. I was put to jail...I even had killed people before. People Change."
There were parts of Gabriel many had seen, but many hadn't seen what she had... How many people would let Gabriel see his tender side. He was just bent on getting what Olivia wanted.. twisted by the grief of her death.
"Even Reira forgave him for what he did to her child..." yeah, Alexis knew what he was talking about.. after all she knew a lot of what Gabriel did... though she didn't know Reira didn't entirely remember her child... but hey, honest mistake.
"So..please can you stop talking about him like this." she remembered Gabriel's lips against hers the other night. Someone that can be that tender couldn't be as evil as David made him sound.

'She doesnt know...she doesnt see it. She-'
He smiled, then said something random and likely out of the ordinary.
"Alexis, do you want Gabriel to be School Captain?"
He looked to her.
"See- he told me the other day to keep my nose out of peoples business and keep it on my duties, else he take my title and do it for me. He has threatened me on so many levels- threatened my life for nothing but a stupid game he wants to win. I am, to every end, tired of playing."
He stood, throwing his teeshirt on over his bare back.
"Mark my words- Gabriel wants change, and he will sacrifice whoever is necessary to meet that end. Riera. You. Me." He began to walk forward, hands in his pockets as he turned back to look at her.
"You right- everyone is deserving of forgiveness. But there are only so many times you can forgive before you refuse to forget, and Gabriel has a bad habit of turning on himself, of becoming a violent hypocrite and letting it shine through in its glory."
"He will come for me Alexis- just wait and see. He will try to catch me in some scheme to make me a fool, to prove himself better, or perhaps he will corner me alone to take what he wants by force with his little gang. Its how he works Alexis, its the way he operates. I do not fear it, and when the day comes that he actually challenges me openly, you may be surprised by the outcome, and when you see who he really is. I'm sorry if this angers you, and if you wish to hate me for it then do so" He turned, his voice carrying back to her.
"I like you Alexis. Your a smart girl, full of potential. Don't let your love blind you."
And he would leave, unless she followed, taking with him his sadness at the loss of a girl to Gabriels mettle.

She listened to yet again another speech. It wasn't going to work. A lot of people had their plans. And she wouldn't put it passed Gabriel to want to take the pillarship from David. Obviously if he was so anal about just one guy then how can he handle many more like Gabriel.
"So what if his plans were to take your pillar ship? How the fuck else do you get the damn thing?!" she called to him. He was walking away and if he had thought she would catch up with him, he was wrong. Yes, someone can make Alexis' good list but it was pretty easy to get yourself off. Though, luckily David earned enough of her trust so he wouldn't be dismantled of her good list as easy as it would have if it were someone else.
"How did you get it? David? How did you get the pillarship? Bring the girl some fucking brownies?"
She sighed. Why couldn't everyone just get along? Was it so God damn hard?

David stopped and turned.
"Alexis....What do you want from me, huh? To go to Gabriel and ask him to be my friend? He doesn't want it for the reasons you might think- he wants it to rule, not to protect." He ran his fingers through his hair before taking a deep breath.
"I want to protect those i care about, and that includes everyone here. But its a constant with that kid- i tell you, we have fought up to fifteen times and he never gives up. What is his purpose? Do YOU know?" He shook his head.
"You tell me what to do Alexis. you tell me then what you want from me. You want me to be his friend, to never fight him again?"

She shook her head staring at him.
"You don't get it, David. He wants it to make a change. He wants to help everyone and make the school a better place... maybe it was because it was a vow he had created to my now dead sister. If you read that death note you would be inspired just as he was."
Alexis sighed. "Maybe the school shouldn't have a fucking pillarship system. So many schools don't have them and they do just fine. Now for some reason more fights break out... some people are like..'Oh hey this will be a cool title to have, maybe I should beat some kid senseless for it?' This is all so stupid, David. There are soo many more horrible people out there and you are just wasting your breath on someone who has good intentions."
She turned around but would say one thing, "I think that if you want to avoid further more violence... give up the title by a more civil matter perhaps? Rather than hold onto it..scared to give up power?"

David stared at her, his face blank.
"I want to be your Friend Alexis, but due to recent events, im afraid Gabriel and my relationship is irrepairable. As for giving up the title- i am Captain, and i have duties."
It was harsh, and hard.
And thus he turned to go.
"I'll be there for ya girl, but Gabriel is no longer my concern."
He would vanish before she could respond.
