Alex lifted his head slightly off his hand as he listened to the teacher welcomed to the class and then introduced herself after one of the people in the class came in slightly late, though not by much. Although his expression looked like he was bored or half-asleep, in essence looking like he was not paying attention, it was the complete opposite, Alex was in fact, listening intently to Ms. Glass' instructions on the assignment, as he saw her move to the door while she talked and closed it. He then completely lifted his head off his hand and opened his notebook on his desk, momentarily blinded when the lights were shut off, the prompt on the projector viewable now. Pulling out a pen, he stared at his notebook, pondering over the topic given.
Alex knew right away what it was he was going to write about. His life had been full of nothing but pain and loneliness, but despite that, he had felt one powerful and particular emotion, which had saved him from losing himself to his pain. Once Ms. Glass had finished, Alex would begin to write right away.
Alex stared down at his paper, before shrugging his shoulders. He had said what he needed to say. Once he had finished, he handed it in, and turning around, heard the guy who had already been in the class before ask Emily if she wanted to be his partner. Unfazed, Alex didn't mind, he had planned to ask Emily, but this way, at least he'd be able to interact with someone new. His eyes then fell on Drea who was beside Emily, and walked up to her desk. "... If I may ask, would you be my partner... for the assignment..." He asked, trying to not look so bored or half-asleep, but let's be honest, that was how Alex always looked regardless.

Aww, Em wants some go-time with her little sis. X3Emily blinked. Strongest emotion eh? Emily's got a LOT of that. Where would she even begin? Well, first things first - she needed a partner. And that partner would b- "Hey Emily, would you mind being my partner? Unless you don't want to, it's alright." Sorry Giglamesh, but Emily's already got someone in mind. Emily smiled and raised her hand apologetically, waving it. "I'm sorry, I was thinking of pairing up with my sister." She hoped that he wouldn't take that the wrong way. Well, even if he did, there was little Emily could've done. Looking at her sister, she would smile then point at herself and at Drea repeatedly. Kinda like a "You/Me?" gesture. Well? What do you say? Provided she accepted or rejected her offer, Emily would then start on her paper. Her strongest Emotion... Oh god, which one to pick? Her pen then began to scribble around:
There are a lot of Emotions that define who I am. I know and understand that I have yet to understand many things about my own existence; about my own self-worth. I guess you can say that the most prominent of the emotions I have in my life is fear.
I fear that I'm not able to control my own emotions enough to be called a "strong person". My mind always wanders to the "what ifs" and to the "Maybe ifs" of my own life, and sometimes I wonder what I should do to avoid the otherwise painful circumstances I foresee.
Maybe I've been thinking too much recently.
But I fear that it... may be a little to late for me to turn around and fix my life. I've dug a hole too deep for escape, and the walls are caving in on me.
This love I hold will kill me.

It figures this teacher wouldn't get along with Valentine's way of life. For one she'd treded on grounds he wasn't all too comfortable with, he was above all things a loner and for the most part wouldn't go looking for a partner EVER! 2nd of which he was never the boy to ever show any sort of emotion. He was cold and fluidly so. Lust and hatred were the only two emotions he'd shown in the past. Lust for a woman who died and hatred for the man that shed her blood. He suffered for that. Even when things worked out for him Jaus was left at the end of a tunnel that never appeared to be getting any shorter.
"I don't need this..."
Jaus shook his head scrawling lightily into the book on his desk.
(OOC: Oh optimism =D)

Nice to get a teacher that didn’t bite his head off, refreshing. Zachariah sat quietly as the teacher went over the class’s agenda for the day, it seemed simple enough. He removed a piece of paper from his notebook in preparation for the first assignment of the day. After that it was just waiting for the prompt… … great. It was an easy prompt for Zachariah to write about as the answer propped into his head right away, however it wasn’t something that he wanted to write about. It didn’t matter that these would not be read aloud but a mere matter of privacy and as understanding and, in a way, invasive as he was into other people problem’s he kept his own often bottled up. It was the way he was programmed. For a long few moments, almost half their allotted writing time, Zachariah sat there trying to think of something else that would provide a satisfactory subject about which to write but he couldn’t really find any. He took a deep breath and began to write. The strongest emotion I’ve ever felt is loss. It was write after my mother passed away about a year and a half ago, from cancer. For a while I felt the world collapsing and my sense of self fading. At the time I was very reliant of her for support emotionally and I wasn’t sure what I would do without her. There are things in my past that have contributed to that frailty that only recently I’ve been able to overcome with much help. At the time I sometimes wished to waste away and join her, in fact I had come ever close. I was about two inches shorter than I am now and reached a low weight 112 pounds. I felt that my world had ripped apart.
There were also the things left unsaid between us, from the past. I spent a few months using the little money I had to drift around the world in much a daze before returning to Rio, where we lived before moving here. There I reconnected with the priest at our local church and was able to overcome that sense of loss to regain any functionality. I would be lying to say that it isn’t still with me at some level and I suppose it always will be. With a soft sigh, Zachariah finished his assignment with moments to spare and walked up to hand it in to Ms. Glass. He really didn’t like to think back on that, at least not in public settings. Now came the moment to find a partner for the next assignment and people were already done and inquiring others about such as possibility. Apparently many of his classmates knew each other already, which was good, but he really didn’t. In fact there was really only one… so Zachariah strode on over to Kevala and asked simply. “Mind working with me on our next assignment?”

"Time!" Ms. Glass called as she realized that twenty minutes had, indeed, passed. She checked all the papers that had been handed in, nodding to herself when all of them were there. Good. It meant that the students knew how to follow directions, at least.
She got to her feet - albeit for only a few moments - and clapped her hands. "Alright. Find your partner and get to work. You have forty minutes to work on your poems, and we'll use the last thirty to read and discuss them."
Ms. Glass nodded to herself - there wasn't much a person could do as far as teaching when it came to Creative Writing. After all, it was perspective-based, and was, essentially, a class for those that liked to express themselves and not be told how to do so. She'd give them some guidelines and then let them go at it. If they didn't partner up, she'd organize them into partners. Easy as pie.
"When you've got your partner, come get your transparency and markers from me," she said, motioning towards her desk, where the clear pages and dry-erase markers lay.
She returned to her seat once more, this time to begin looking over the submitted journal writes. They'd come get what they needed - she trusted them to do so.
Get your partners all figured out before you post - through spam or chat or whatever - and then have one of you come get your materials. Once all the materials have been distributed, I'll post again. Even if you're not moving to get the stuff, at least post that you know what you're doing. Also, if you're like Mr. Valentine and don't wish to partner up, say so in your post. She'll notice when one team is taking longer than usual and then she'll assign them to someone.

Drea hesitated when the boy asked her to partner with him, glancing at her sister.
"I'm sorry, I was thinking of pairing up with my sister." Drea smiled at her sister's words. They'd been thinking the same thing, then. She nodded to her twin's gestures, smiling broadly. Of course she'd pair up with her. It would be more interesting, after all.
Immediately, she apologized to the Asian male. "I'm sorry," she said, "But I'd like to work with my sister."
When the teacher called out that their time was up, she'd begun paying attention to the directions once more. Forty minutes for the poems, and the poems needed to be ten lines. She figured one of them would start and then they'd alternate. One way or another, it would work, after all.
When Ms. Glass finished talking, Drea nodded to her sister before going to get their transparency and markers.
"My partner," she'd said, "Is my sister, Emily."
Once she had the materials in hand, she'd head back to her seat and set them down on the desk.
"Why don't you start us off?" she suggested to her sister. "I can work with anything you want."

(ooc: Sorry but need to respond real fast! Dont kill me! -hides- I will make it fast. XD )
She would look up as Saint came over. Smiling as she gave a light nod.
"Of course I don't mind."
She nodded and motioned to the empty seat next to her. She really did like him as far as friends go and though they had not spoken much she did believe she could trust him. Enough so that she had chosen to ask him to help train her.
It was rare to find a male who was as kind and considerate as he was.
Looking back to the teacher she would place her hands on her desk. Her fingers lightly fidgetting with one another as she bit upon her lower lip softly. A light sigh passing from her lips as she did.

Mitsukai let out a heavy sigh at the mention of the class's assignment. Why did it have to be one of the things she hated most? Group work was always a pain in the ass, there was only one time she had actually enjoyed it and that was with Kevala. She could have at least gone over to see if either Kev or Drea wanted to pair up with her but she decided not to. Unlike her they were far more social they would have more options and she didn't want to hold them back from being with the other members of the class.
So instead she sat there in silence, absent mindedly sketching in her notebook as she waited for the rest to pick their partners. Chances were she would either be assigned someone or would just have to work alone. The later of course being the ideal situation but very unlikely.

Emily had a big smile plastered all over her face when Drea agreed to the partnership. That was a good thing, really. Emily wanted to see how Drea fared in literature.
If she was any as "bad" as her own skills. Emily's talent laid more on the visual arts, so... maybe Drea had some talent in written literature?
Who knows.
Her sister went to get their transparencies and their pens, and Emily went and ripped off a page from her notebook, more or less to just get some scratches of paper to write the poem on before the transparencies. Emily was never really confident with her poetry writing abilities.
In fact, she sucked.
"Why don't you start us off?" Drea suggested to her, "I can work with anything you want."
Emily laughed nervously, "You sure?" She said, obviously unsure about herself. "With all the talents I have, Poetry isn't one of them."
...
"Welp; here we go, I guess."
Well, the hardest part was always how to start the darned thing - or what to talk about. Guh.
Scribble, Scribble.
...
No, that wouldn't do. Scratch out.
...
She wrote the Kanji for "Sai Rai (Second Coming)" and after a moment scratched it off too.
Damn writer's block.
"I .... got nothing, Drea." She cried. Stupid poetry.

Zachariah took the seat with a simple smile, at least he didn’t have to worry about working while trying to get to know someone. Oddly as warm and fuzzy as he might seem, he was a very private person. Needless to say he sat quietly and waited for the teacher to give them some sort of direction. Despite his intellect and manner of speak, Zachariah was not a very artistic person so this poetry work would not be easy for him. Idly he twirled his pencil with his fingers as he waited noting the sigh from Kevala… chalking it up to the doldrums of class.
Even if it wasn’t, this wasn’t the place to talk really.

Ms. Glass noted the two pairings that had appeared to crop up. It seemed the twins were working with each other. That was fine with her - and it seemed Mr. Rose and Ms. Astaku would be working together, though they had yet to retrieve their supplies.
Celestine rose from her seat once more, sighing. That left four students she needed to pair up - and she didn't want to make a mistake and accidentally set up for a fight of some sort. She grabbed three transparencies and several markers. She quickly strode to the pair without supplies and handed a box of transparency markers to them as well as a transparent page.
Next, she started for the four that hadn't paired up. "Miss Shinoda, you'll be working with Mr. Valentine," she said, handing the girl her supplies. She turned towards the two that had requested the pairing with the twins but been denied. "Mr. Magnius, Mr. Hikari - you'll be working together." She handed the supplies to Gilgamesh, and then returned to the front of the room.
"Ten lines. It shouldn't be too difficult for you. Turn them in to me when you're done. I don't mind if you get loud, but try to keep it to a dull roar, please." She realized it shouldn't get too loud with only eight students, but she had to be sure: It was a public high school, after all.
Work on your ten line-poems. You have two weeks. You may conduct your poem with your partner in our out of the thread, but the final result must be posted, and both characters must post at least once to prove that the poem is satisfactory to both parties. It is group work, after all.
Note that there is no posting order, and you may post as many times as necessary to complete your assignments.
Mr. Magnius, as it seems Mr. Hikari's attention is currently held by his immense workload, you'll have free reign. You may turn in a five-line poem of your own, or you may contact Mr. Hikari to work something out. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Deadline: November 21, midnight EST

Drea quietly observed her sister working, and blinked when her sister gave up with a cry of "I... got nothing, Drea."
Drea smiled at her sister softly before nodding to her. "Okay," she said quietly. "Then I will begin.." She used her thumb to wipe away Emily's attempts and, leaving space for a title, wrote out a first line in red. It was a quick line that had entered her mind only then.
She slid the page over to her sister. Despite the fact that the following lines had immediately entered into her mind, she hadn't forgotten it was a shared assignment. Besides, she was interested in seeing how Emily's came out. After all, both of them had superb grades... And Drea wanted to know what went through her sister's mind.
"Your turn," she said, smiling a bit.

'That was quite quick...' Emily mentally noted as she stared at the transparency that her sister had more or less just flung a pen at and voila - a line was ready.
Good lord, it was interesting. Em's talents laid more on the visual arts. Drea's was more of the written ones. Fascinating.
"Your turn," Emily nodded slowly, almost nervous as she took the pen and read the line.
...
After pondering for a while, Emily began writing. She looked somewhat troubled and hesitant, but it was never the less something Emily tried to do her best at.
Emily paused...
...
Yeah, she took "one line at a time" a step further and made another one. Guess her muse was working, right?

Drea accepted the page and looked it over. She was curious to see what her sister had written out.
Hmmm. The lines her sister had added were interesting. The flow was still there, though a bit shaky. Drea nodded to herself. It would do. Her sister wasn't as good a writer as she, but what did she expect? Drea was, after, a published author. It wasn't like every fifteen year old was decent with their works. Still, she'd been hoping... But the way her sister wrote... Drea surmised that Emily had to do some form of writing, whether it was screen or script. After all, the lines were of a form that matched, which was always a good thing.
She began writing. She'd match two for two.
Quietly, Drea passed the transparency back to her sister.
