Lost in thought (Serenity/Open)

[Mitsukai]

"Yeah you are a hell of a mom. I think if my dad had dropped off the face of the planet when I was born my mom would have given me up for adoption. A lot of women would."

Mitsukai was glad to hear those words come out of the other girl's mouth. She was actually beginning to like her despite their first bad impression. Well it shouldn't have come as much of a surprise for her, all the girls she ever got along with were the ones that Katsuri had an interest in. It was strange but if there was one good thing that man ever did it was bringing those girls together.

"I have done what I had to do to make sure that my children are loved and taken care of. As any Mother should." "Perhaps one he shall return to me. I do not know."

She shrugged to that one, not completely sure if it would be a good thing if he ever did return. Seeing as the girl would have to kick his ass anyway for all the hell he had caused. She wanted to think what ever made Kevala happy she would support but once you let someone that had caused you so much pain back into your life you were bound to get hurt again. She could never know if history would just repeat itself in this case. And she hoped it never will.

"Would you take him back if he did?" She asked her seriously. She wanted to know how Kevala would feel if such a thing did happen. She would not persuade her to change her mind if she choose to take him back but even then she still felt like she would look over the situation if need be.

She would suddenly feel that urge to puke hit her. Ugh! Too much fresh air and not enought weed. She needed a drink and another joint.

Smiling at the two she hopped up from the table and smiled at them both.

"Sorry to do this but I need to get going. Great talking to you girls. Call sometime and we can do this again."

With that she turned and left.

[Kevala Badoer]

She watched as Ren left. Smiling to her and nodding about perhaps doing this some other time. Her attention then shifting back to Mitsukai.

"I do not know. I loved him, and just before he left he told me of his love for me. I am torn when I think of such things. But regardless, he is my brother. That I can never deny him."

She sighed as she gave a light shrug. Her tone and her words seeming much older than the Kevala which had first come to this place. But then, she felt older now. Felt as though she had been through hell and back. Which in many's mind, she had.

"I try to not think of him. But at night when Aiden and Kazumi are asleep I cannot help myself. I miss him, I miss his touch, his scent. I have yet to change his pillow case for fear that I will forget what he smelled of."

She laughed at her own silliness. Shaking her head as she continued.

"But to have him hurt me again, to have him come into the twins' lives and then dissappear again. That is something I cannot allow to happen. So I am unsure as to what our relationship would be if he were to come back now."

She had put a lot of thought behind this and that was the best she could do right now.

"I have worked out a way to take care of myself and the twins. I am not sure he would wish me back if he found out anyways."

Kevala had certainly matured for someone her age quite quickly after all that she had been through. She still loved the guy and Mitsukai couldn't blame her, it wasn't to long ago since his disappearance too short a time to simply forget about him.

"It's too early I guess to be thinking about what ifs now." she said, looking out into the distance lost in thought. "For now you just have to get used to the new life you have for now and deal with the past later." At least Kevala now had the strength to move on, with a little help of course now and again. She had hope of becoming something great in the future.

As for herself, Mitsukai could never break free of her past. Every painful memory constantly with her, making it impossible to move on with her own life. She would never be able to break free of it but she just hoped that her friend could make it in time.

"I hear that you have spoken with Gabriel."

The words spoken calmly as she began to move about the roof. A steady, slow pace as she walked over to the other ledge and looked down. Oh she heard thing, things people sometimes thought they were hiding. The little meeting had slipped her attention, but the cell phone she had found had not.

No she knew there was only one way that Mitsukai could have gotten one and that was to have been in contact with Gabriel. Though the question remained. Did she too have an alliance of sorts with him or not?

She did have the phone, but at the same time, he had yet to mention her to Kevala. Not that he would. But it still seemed a bit odd to her.

[Mitsukai]

Her demeanor was calm an cool despite the girl's shock that Kevala had found out about that meeting. How much exactly did she know about it? Mitsukai had been careful about sneaking out that night and had been very quiet about the whole issue. She was sure that Gabriel had not spoken about the matter out loud either. He seemed to be the type who would keep such a thing to himself.....yet again it was not like she knew the guy very well. Gabriel was full of surprises.

She silently nodded, there was no point in trying to hide it now. Or at least that she did talk to him. But she would keep quiet as to how it happened, and of course the fact that she was tossed around a bit during that time. Kevala didn't need to know all the details about the encounter.

[Kevala Badoer]

Kevala was a lot of things. One of which was sneaky. She had no clue they really had met until just that moment. No, she had already expected to hear of the girl finding the phone some place. Something which was very possible. But now that she knew, she did not let her surprise show. Instead she would nod and then continue on with her words.

"And you were asked to join him? Am I correct?"

She let her arms fall down from her chest now and rest at her sides. Her tongue running over her lips as she looked to the ground below..

[Mitsukai]

"Ya...I was..." She replied, she was till unsure about what she would do about it. She knew nothing about this man at all, or the goals he wanted to accomplish by using her. Or what would happen if she willingly went along with his plans. Mitsukai hated to feel used and she was damn sure that all he wanted was to use her. God only knows what for. She wasn't the strongest fighter in the school, after Gabriel had tossed her around like a rag doll he should have known that by now. She could not manipulate others to get the tasks she needed done, she simply did not have the social skills to be manipulative. She also didn't have any resources to help him behind the scenes either. There was nothing that she had to give so why did he even bother? It just didn't make any sense which was one of the reasons that made her hesitate to answer him the first time.

"Well, let me ask you this. Would you follow me in my choosing?"

She could tell from the way Mitsukai did not answer fully that she was still undecided. Kevala was gifted at reading people and at persuading them to do as she wished. Perhaps that was why Gabriel had still wished her assistance even after Katsuri had just up and left? She really did not know. But she knew that so long as she helped him, then her children were safe. The first sign of anything different and she was done. It was that simple. If she had to, she would move away from this place. School was almost done for her and she really had no reason to stay here longer. Not like Katsuri was going to come back and they were going to be happy together.

Pft!!!

She may have appeared strong, but it was only her giving up on her dreams that made her this way. Dreams were for idiots and she would never let them hurt her again.

[Mitsukai]

"Well, let me ask you this. Would you follow me in my choosing?"

Mitsukai wasn't really surprised to hear her asking this question. After all she wasn't bothering to hide her uneasiness about it, and she also knew that even despite what the bastard did to her that she still stood by his side. Following his every command. Why of course was a mystery that she wanted to find out but she bit her tongue on that. She was not going to reveal how much she knew about that incident now, Kevala would not appreciate how she had discovered it.

"I don't know if I should..." she said honestly. "I don't like to follow some person I don't even know like some dumb sheep in a flock." she turned to face Kevala now, she didn't say that to be mean even if it might sound that way. Mitsukai was not a leader nor was she a follower. She was the kind of person that liked to choose her own path. No matter how many times fate would tr to pull her in it's direction. If there was no benefit in the end it was not worth doing.

"Why are you on his side?" She had to admit she was curious as to why Kevala choose to follow Gabriel. She knew her taste in mean were....interesting but that insight might help her come to a decision better.

[Kevala Badoer]

She would turn and face the girl now. Her eyes scanning her face as she shrugged softly.

"It is simple. I am alone. I have two children who need me and I am not a fighter. I never have been. Gabriel has promised no harm to befall the twins so long as I do as he asks. So, I do.

If I were to ever think that he would go back on his word, then I would find a way out. As I have said. I do what I must to keep them safe."

She would not softly as she turned about once more to look out over the grounds.

"Besides. I always believed in his plan for a Republic. I am tired of the violence. The hate and the fighting on every corner of this school. But people laughed at him, stood against him. He does this now in an attempt to save them from themselves."

[Mitsukai]

"No plan to end violence with violence could ever truly work." She said flatly. "It's fighting like that that ends up corrupting the individual who was seeking peace in the first place." letting out another sigh she would continue. "But that is how the world works....it's hard not to achieve anything without force."

"I personally think that nothing will ever change....even if Gabriel intends to make this school peaceful and does succeed in gaining power someone else will eventually over throw him and we will be right back where we started. Or if not that then the chances are in his quest for peace he will be corrupted by the greed that comes with seeking power.....that is why for most of my life I have never chosen sides. I do as I please and only take what I need to survive or else I will die in this place.....there are some benefits to joining him but at the same time I don't want to become just another tool to be used and then thrown away when I am no longer useful. I have had enough of that in my life time..."

[Kevala Badoer]

She nodded. She was never one to force another into doing something they did not wish to do. Drawing in a deep breath she would nod softly.

"It is up to you. I only ask because I would feel better if you were there with me. But I shall not try to force your hand in this matter. I do what I must for my family as I know you do what you must for yourself. It is the way of people and the way of us. You are still my friend. Regardless what you may decide."

With that she would smile and turn to make her exit. Her back now to Mitsukai as she spoke.

"I will be home later. The nanny is taking care of Aiden and Kazumi. If I do not see you before you go to bed I bid you good night."

Then with that she was gone, slipping through the door that led from the roof into the school. She had much to get done tonight. Tired as she was, she still had to go by the studio and then take care of a few commissions. Not to mention when she got home she had to take care of the twins. Busy busy busy.
