----------------Day Of The Party---------------
Astrid had just gotten done enrolling and getting herself settled in. She had yet to meet anyone here. Hell, she had not even met Leon yet. The Lightening Dragon. The one she had been sent here to train under. He was by all means family. Part of the Sudeki clan to which she was born. But it seemed that of late, the man was busy. Not that she was surprised, he was the leader of the Dragons, and he was one of the most hunted men she had ever heard tale of. But that was to be expected when you possessed as much power as that man did. Hence why she had been sent to him after the murder of her parents by the Katashi clan. It only seemed fitting that he should train. She only hoped to start soon. Not wishing to waste time in gaining strength and above all else...knowledge. He was the holder of both and until she found him she would not rest.
But as she was leaving the school, a boy stopped her. Handing her a paper with an address and a date on it.
"Hey. You should totally go. This party is gonna rock!!"
She raised her brow. Strange boy that was. But as her eyes scanned over the paper. A part of her thought that perhaps this would be a good thing. If nothing else she could try and meet new people and perhaps find out where she could start her search for Leon Sudeki. It was worth a shot was it not?
Watching as the boy ran off, she would shake her head, folding up the paper and placing it into her backpack. She would have time to think this over. For now she needed to get home and get her stuff organized for her first day of school.
So she would leave, walking the distance from the school to her apartment. It was not much, but it was home for now. She could only hope that sooner or later she would be able to find something better. But until then, she would not complain. Luckily, even at the age of 15, she had all the skills to be able to take care of herself. Having been raised in the traditional manner of the clan, which dictated that women were to be wives and mothers above all else. It was in her blood. Just as in her blood ran the strength and determination of a warrior. She would never back down, never run away, and never let the hardships of life get her down.
It was the way of their people. Either you made it on your own or you were left for dead. Twas the way of the Sudeki clan and she was no exception. Female or not.
So here she would make her way up the stairs and into the small apartment. Making sure to lock the door as she entered and then moving to take a seat upon her couch. Her bag being settled next to her feet on the floor. Slowly she would unzip it and begin to pull out the books she had gotten from school. She would then lay them out upon the table. Letting her eyes run over them as she pulled out her schedule.
She had luckily been able to sign up for art class, and music. She did not know what she would do without those. It was tradition in her family that they not only be good at battle and at taking care of the men but that they all learn some form of art. It was one thing to be strong, but another to be versed in the arts and learning of the world.
So for now she would begin to organize her stuff. Completely forgetting about that paper she had been given. Hours would pass. Her mind lost in the things she needed to get done and get ready for class on Monday. Her long blond hair falling about her face as she poured over those books. She would not be slacking in school here. She could not afford it.
Finally, after hours of study and prep time, she would start to place the needed supplies back into her bag, only to stop as her eyes settled upon that note. As she opened it, she would sigh. Perhaps she should not go. Just let it slip from her mind and continue to try and get ready for school.
But then the thoughts of trying to find Leon entered her mind and she knew that she could not rest until she had. It was just not an option. So, if this party gave her even the slightest clue as to where he was she would do it.
Pushing herself up from her couch she would move over to her closet. Now it was time to try and figure out what to wear. That should not be too hard, she was not looking to impress anyone. Right?
Or at least that is what she thought, until her mothers words entered her mind.
You always dress to please. You never know when a fine young warrior will look upon you.
She could not go against her Mother’s wishes for her to find herself a good man to marry. Even if now the thought seemed so foolish. It was the one thing her mother had always believed in and had tried so hard to raise her to do. So she would do as was expected. Besides, she had an image to portray and would do such with honor.
So, digging through her closet she would find a dress. It was a beautiful thing, one given to her by her Father for her last birthday. It was a pale pink color, with thin shoulder straps and a low cut in the front. It was attractive, but not in the least bit sleezy. Or so that was what she had thought when she put it on.
As she slipped it on, she would look in the mirror. A little pain of sadness falling over her as she thought of the day it was given to her. The look her father had held as he awaited her approval. Gods how she missed them. Shaking her head, she would push the thoughts away, and move to fix her hair. Long gold curls would fall softy about her form, down to her mid back, as deep brown eyes would look back at her.
It would only take her a few more minutes, a matter of finding her shoes, a pair of platforms that matched the dress. A present from her mother. Then her coat, pulling it on over the dress and then heading out the door.
------------------------The Party----------------
It took her awhile, but finally she would arrive. Her brow eyes scanning over the entrance to the home as she ran her tongue over her plush pink lips. She was having doubts about this whole thing. But she would not let that stop her. This would probably be the last time she dressed up in such a fashion and attempt to mingle with others.
No, once she finally got to meet Leon she would be far to consumed with training to worry about such things as this. For her, this was her last night to honor her mother and fathers wishes for her life. She would soon be a warrior, not some girl who hung on the words of men in an effort to find herself a good husband. With the numbers of her family dropping so dramatically, it could not be afforded. She was proud of who she was and where she came from and would defend that way of life with her own if needed.
Pushing open the door to the party she would step into a room full of people she had never seen before. Drawing in a deep breath as she slowly slid her coat off. Instantly drawing the attention of several guys at the party. It was to be expected. She was new, and did not know who was the asshole, who was the good guy and who was just all around creepy. It made those who typically would not go after a girl more inclined to do so when they knew that she did not know them. But she was not really here to meet any men. At least not in the sense that they were thinking.
Moving further into the party she was soon found to be talking to some of the guys that had been sizing her up, taking the drinks they offered and trying to gain information about the whereabouts of Leon. So far she had learned that he was a teacher and that his son Spike also went to school here. She also learned in her conversation that Spike was dating a girl who had been dating a Katashi. The hate she felt in that moment causing her to drink way more than she probably should have. For soon enough the affects could be felt. Her head spinning. Her words slurring softly as she spoke. Oh yes, this was not a good thing.
It was later on, when she started to feel completely wasted that she decided it was time to go home. Yes, home was a good plan. But wouldn’t you know that she just could not stop drinking? Heh. It was succeeding in drowning out the pain of her past and the rage she felt at the idea of a Katashi having been here. Other things she heard not making much sense at the time….though she would have to find out more about them later.
For now, she still wished to try and have fun. Again, this would be the last time that she did this for a very long time. Not about to allow herself such a thing in the future. She had too much she needed to get done. She was not the best fighter in the world. Having only learned a few things from her father when her mother was not looking. She had never wanted Astrid to fight. Sure, she knew it was the way of the Sudeki that if need be the woman would fight, but she had hoped that such a thing would never find her daughter. But sometimes things just don’t work out the way we want them to. Do they?
So she drank, and drank, and drank some more. Her world starting to grow fuzzy and then……that was it….
--------------The Next Morning…..Err….Afternoon------------
The sunlight crept through the blinds, shining down upon her eyes as she groaned softly and turned over. Her hand reaching up to grab the pillow and pull it over her face. Gods! What had happened last night?
She could remember going to the party, talking to a group of guys, and finding out some information on Leon and his family. She remembered the name Katashi and the fact that there used to be one here. She felt the anger once more grow inside of her. Causing the pain in her head to increase to the point that she thought it would explode. Ugh!!!! This sucked!!
Forcing herself to roll over and look at the clock. Good lord it was already 2 in the afternoon? What fucking time did she get home last night? Wait…She was home right? Throwing the pillow back to look around. A sigh of relief escaping her as she noted she was home and by herself.
Then the wave of nausea hit her. Oh gods!! Hopping out of bed, thankfully in her jammies, she would run to the bathroom…spending the next 30 minutes in there trying to get out whatever it was that wished so badly to come out. The toilet was her friend. Her blond hair falling about her as she continued to throw up and whimper.
Okay so yeah. No more drinking for her. That was a given for sure. She would be soooo not doing that again. Though it had proved useful. She had found out that Leon was a teacher, perhaps that would make it easier for her to find him. She could look around the school. But for now, she was going to focus on making sure she survived long enough to do so.
