The tree.
It was like his new hang out, his private little spot where everyone knew he could be found. he rested there between classes, studied there, trained there. Impressions of his fists could be seen in the bark, as well as dried blood from his knuckles. Many student bodies have lain scattered about it, battered and bruised. He didn't care, right now was his time. His shirt was off, and he punched the tree.
The beginning.
He did so only three times before a boy stepped forward.
"You David Blaze?"
David stopped, not even begun his breathing yet.
"Yeah."
The kid shrugged off his coat.
"I'm here to claim your title as School Captain." David stared for a moment before turning back to the tree.
"I'm no longer Captain- Matrim Gallagher is the one you want."
The man dropped his fighting stance.
"I see. I'll go find this man who beat you then."
David laughed, but didn't say anything. The guy stopped at stared.
"What?"
David continued punching the tree.
"Matrim Gallagher never beat me. Nor did any of the Captains before him. I gave up my title willingly."
The boy stared.
"Why?"
David said nothing, continuing to punch the tree.
"Ah, fear then."
David stopped, looking over at him with a fierce, hawk-like gaze.
"Do i look like a man with fear?"
The boy took half a step back, before taking a deep, somewhat brave breath.
"I guess not. Regardless, i'll be going."
"Good idea."
And David would return to punching his tree, the conversation having never truly broken his repitition except for brief, rather boring moments of time, and besides- he couldn't rightly put the image of a badass into peoples minds without punching a tree with no shirt on, could he?
Sheesh...stupid children...

"...what did the tree do to face the malice of your fist?"
Mitsuki's voice would perk up, watching as the boy walk off; the two made brief eye contact, yet the boy seemed intent on finding the school captain and so stalked off without much hesitation. She had witnessed the confrontation, and to know that Matrim was now school captain wasn't much of a surprise. She had encountered Matrim twice - the first time, she had copied his Qi, and the second, coincidentally met up while she was practicing something that belonged to him. She stood firm, feet planted into the ground as she eyed the tree with a slight frown. So it was true that David spent much of his time here, but she didn't think that he actually spent some of his time attempting to inflict pain on mother nature. There was clear evidence marked on the tree of previous beat ups.

David paused again, looking to the old Captain. He stared for a moment before looking back and stepping forward toward the massive tree, placing a hand on it.
"It grew, strong and tall."
He took a deep breath. seemed today was not the day he would have for training. He reached down, picking up a white Tshirt and putting it on over his head before looking back to Mitsuki. It had been a long time since he had seen her- in fact, since the moment she handed over her title to him. He stepped toward her, giving her a small, rather subdued smile- which for David was a lot nowadays.
"How have you been?"

Mitsuki remembered a discussion in her freshman Honors English class, a topic about trees. It was one of the more interesting topics that the class had - about how people were, more or less, like trees. People who stand firm in their beliefs and act upon what they believe is right are like trees whose roots are implanted deep within the ground, still upright after multiple storms. And then there are those who can be easily snapped into two; trees that, after a nights storm, tumble over and crash into the ground. Yet... She wondered if anyone envied the more beautiful, grand trees that seemed to blossom and spread its roots all over. If anyone felt pity for the trees with a thin trunk. She stared up at the tree that David had been punching, and remained silent to his first comment.
As for his question, Mitsuki was unsure how to reply. And because she was unsure of how to reply, she would give the vague answer that everyone else gives when asked the same question.
"Fine."
But there was a reason why she went looking for him on this particular day. It seemed that David was not in the best of moods, and she wasn't sure how he would take Mitsuki's news, but...she didn't really care. If he got angry, then he would get angry. If he was indifferent, then he was indifferent.
"I came here to apologize," Mitsuki said.
Pause.
Why?
"I will not keep my end of the deal."
That's...really all she wanted to say. It's not that she couldn't - she was more than capable if she kept up with her training. It was just that she wouldn't. And if he asked why, then she would tell him her reasons.

[ooc: Jumping innnnn for a little of my own plot fun <3 luffuguyz] ----
Phi had been peacefully nestled high in a tree in the school yard, the operative term being 'had been.' Because no sooner had our little discordia drifted off into dreamland, that a series of thumps reached her ears. Thump, thump, thump...[wha'...the...hell].
Ice blue eyes snapped open, though her body remained perfectly still, and she looked down to where a boy was beating up a tree next to her. Impish buffoon, it was the same boy she'd seen back in the hallway not too long ago. Ophelia rolled her eyes, wrinkling her nose as each of the punches reverberated in her head like little hammers hitting her brain.
Another unimportant figure walked up to him all haughty, demanding his title. Title, an ickle pillar then? Hah. But no...no, this boy was no longer a pillar. No longer the school captain even, it now belonged to someone named Matrim.
Matrim.
Flash.
Whoomp, something collided with the her face, sending her stumbling backward. Aching, her body was slowly giving up on her, but she pushed herself anyway. Her opponent, a boy with brown hair and laughing brown eyes stood opposite her, he was just warming up.
She swayed where she stood, gaining her footing again and holding her head. She looked up at her opponent, two versions of him swinging back and forth into view before settling into one.
"Not...done...with you...yet.."
"Don't even think about quitting on me now.."
Flash.
...
HEADACHE! >.<
Phi cringed, bringing her hands to her temples. She felt like she'd just been flashed with someone's high beams [though there's no way for a car to get in a tree. Don't be a dumbass.]
The unimportant whoever was gone, leaving stupid boy...and a girl. Girrrrrlfriend perhaps? She looked vaguely...familiar. But then again so did just about everyone. There are 6 BILLION people in this world, there's bound to be some visual similarities. It's all genetics, people.
So she watched them.

David placed his hands in his pockets- her end of the deal. It had been a while since she and him had made that bargain, and it brought back painful memories of a day when he was different, when he was the hero of 259. Now, however... He looked away, air combing across his face through a light breeze.
"Its fine- i don't think Matrim plans on giving it up anyway."
'If he plans anything at all...'
David looked back to her.
"I gave it away too- which is why i feel the need to give you your stuff back. Losing the title was a breaking of our bargain." Of course, he meant the items which were currently in a box in the trunk of his car. David refused to fight with items nowadays, and his Qi was slowly becoming a scarcity to see. He liked it though- using your own muscles, he was nothing like Gabriel, or Matrim, or Emily or anyone else who relied so heavily on trivial things. Some saw it as a weakness that he refused outside help- David would rather fight someone on his own damn skills, not take the bitch way out. He never told this to anyone though- hell, he hardly said anything at all these days.
He stared into her eyes.
"You would still like to train?"
He, unfortunately, wasn't paying attention as he spoke, or he might have felt the presence of a rather familiar girl in a tree not too far away...

She couldn't care less if he gave it to the weakest student in the school. Who had the title was of no concern to her - it was simply the fact that she did not care to get it back. And that's what the training was for, wasn't it? To improve her fighting skills so that she would be able to, eventually, actually be the best in the school? But what does it mean to be the best? And why do people strive for it so? Her impassive eyes glazed over to David, feeling a little detached from the male. She didn't think it was because of weeks of no contact with him - actually, she believed that the boy had changed. Whether for the better or for the worse, Mitsuki was unable to tell. He did seem like ... well, she thought it weird that of all people, David seemed to be...
"You're distracted," she spoke. A speculation.
Going back to the matter at hand...
"I'm still willing to learn if you are still willing to teach."
Pause.
She parted her lips, as if to say something, but then they slid closed. No need to tell him. He said not to rely on her Qi in fights anyway, right? Thing is, she couldn't use her Qi anymore. She didn't particularly want to use it, either.
She waited.

Blink...blink.
If the dumb boy's fist pounding had woken her up minutes ago, now this snooze-fest dialog was putting her back to sleep. Pale eyes narrowed slightly in boredom, though she still continued to watch them like a trashy soap opera. So much was being said by not being said.
Let's fill the story in, shall we?
Boy meets girl. Alright, that much is clear. [Obviously have a history, don't be thick.] So what's next? Friends? Acquaintances? Peers? Whatever, not important. What WAS a good plot point for this soap opera is this deal. And the girl...let's call her Sasha (it's a pretty good soap name) is breaking it. Or broke it. Whatever "it" is. Boy, let's call him Fabian, is mad. Punching a tree.
But he was doing that BEFORE she broke the news to him.
"I've got it!"
The dark haired girl exclaimed, pointing her finger up Sherlock Holmes style.
"She's pregnant and he's not the father. Tsk tsk. And it was the Butler all along...in the kitchen with the crow bar."
She sighed the last part, turning on her side so she was perched Cheshire Cat-like in the tree, arms crossed on the branch in front of her, chin on her arms. Blatantly staring at them. It was a bit of an odd angle to see the girl clearly, what with all that hair...but Fabian was in relatively good view.

David stared at Mitsuki for a moment before a smile came to his lips. He half turned, giving an evil glare to the girl in the tree. He would stare at her menacingly for but a moment before vanishing from in front of the ex Captain and appearing beside the female in the tree. David would look down at Mitsuki.
"Very well- we start again now."
He would suddenly kick the girl in the side, hopefully sending her clean from the tree.
"Stop me from hurting this girl- if you can't, i will tear her and you apart."
Mitsuki would learn quickly David had changed- however, he didn't do this for his own pleasure, he did it to show her the current way of the school and its pillars- the Captain and his pillars had no inhibitions when it came to tearing apart someone who brought them prestige, or when if suited thier need. David would, if Mitsuki did nothing, disappear and slam a knee under her chin.
This Training would not go well.

When he suddenly appeared next to the girl by the tree, Mitsuki, for some strange reason, knew the gist of what he was about to do. She rushed forward before he even attacked the girl, unhappy that David consciously chose to attack an innocent bystander. The girl had no business concerning David and Mitsuki, and why David chose to bring the girl into it, she didn't know, nor did she care. She wasn't looking at the big picture; attacking someone innocent wasn't something David would do, but that thought never crossed her mind. He attacked someone, and she didn't have the time to figure it out - instead, she would act, and already decided that after this was over, she and David Blaze would become strangers to each other whether he liked it or not. It didn't matter if this was his method of opening her eyes - her decision was made.
And it was, in a way, depressing because David had been open with her when she approached him for his help. But with the turn of events of today, she felt herself close the barrier she had cracked open and lock it with cement. It's not that she could no longer trust him, it was the mere fact that she would not be able to open up to him as she once did weeks ago. She would not be able to go to him for help, nor would she want to. His actions were unacceptable - granted, if David's true intentions were to show her that this was how the school now ran with the new pillars, he would get his job done, but in such a way where he now lost Mitsuki Park.
Rather than approaching David, she quickly made her way towards the girl. A look of concern washed over her face; the kick, regardless of where it hit Phi, would be quite painful and do some damage. Mitsuki's arms would wrap around Phi's neck as if Mitsuki were hugging the girl; her lips would be brought next to Phi's ears as she whispered two words: "I'm sorry."
Mitsuki's fingers would press at certain pressure points behind her ear that would effectively knock Phi would for the time being. No way would Phi be able to run from David, so the least Mitsuki could do is make it so Phi wouldn't feel any pain. Let her body rest and her brain send neurotransmitters to the areas which were under assault.
By then, David would probably have attacked either Mitsuki or Phi. If not, then she would stand and turn, wary of the fact that him attacking Mitsuki as she turned around was very much possible. Still, if he didn't attack, then she would face David, eyes suddenly cold and unreadable. She was supposed to stop David from hurting the girl, right? Then Mitsuki would be mostly on the defensive.
To actually stop him, I would have to beat him.
But could she do that? Was she even capable of hurting him?
She thought of Phi.
And then she thought of the girl back on the rooftop that "Thrush" had once attacked, and Mitsuki could not help but clench her jaw.
Hopefully, history would not repeat itself.
OOC EDIT: No, Mitsuki does not know 'Phi'..I just used the name to avoid confusion. :P

As the expression melted from Paolo's face into something Phi recognized immediately as a look of displeasure at her expense...beautiful. But what she didnt expect was for him to leave him little girlfriend and climb up in the tree after her. Phi turned from her perch in the tree as he came up to her...however instead of talking to her about what she has said, Fraco was still talking to Gigi.
"Very well- we start again now."
Start what?
-OOF!
Next thing she knew, the ground was flying at her and she collided, concrete flaking up as cracks spidered across the courtyard, tumbling to a stop. Pain stung in her wrist, hip, and knee, but nothing too serious. Phi took a moment to right her head, pushing herself up into a sitting position just as Valentina rushed over to her. Ophelia finally caught a glance at her the girl flung her arms around her next to hug her.
...Didn't she look familiar?
"I'm sorry."
-That voice!
The moment the spark reached her brain though, a dark fuzziness overtook her most unexpectedly, unconsciousness taking over as her form crumpled back to the cement.
[ooc: You can skip me for a bit till Phi wakes up]

Losing respect?
Never talking to him again?
These were things David didn't consider, and even if he did he probably wouldn't care. It was a light blow, and this girl he had kicked recovered quickly. Besides, it was obvious she was itching for a fight from the start. Regardless, what was done was done, and now he had to see it through.
"Your angry? Good, be angry. Were i someone...worse, she would be bloodied beyond belief."
He smiled, cracking his neck some more.
"Not that it matters. Follow."
He would begin running, sprinting at HER top speed, making her force herself to keep up. If she refused to follow, he would throw her over his shoulder and run at HIS top speed, finding for them a warehouse several blocks away from anyone, throwing her to the ground before activating his Qi. He would vanish and re-appear a moment later, throwing the dead weight of the girl off to the side. He would stare at her, and begin removing his clothes.
"Take off your clothes. We're fighting bare backed."
He would take off his shirt, then his pants, and shoes and socks, leaving only his boxers.
"You can keep the underwear- obviously. None of the flashy toys. No Qi. Just your muscles. I will fight at one hundred percent. This is how we will train. There will be no winners. No losers. No draws. If someone gets knocked out, we get dressed, take them to the hospital, and once they are better, we fight again. That is how we will train. You don't have to like me, you can even hate me, but i will make you strong."
The most words David has said in a very, very long time.

Actually, Mitsuki wasn't itching for a fight - that was not why she had approached him. Her reasons were even exposed. He said to defend the girl from him, to stop him from defeating the both of them, but instead he tells her to follow? Her eyes looked at the girl Mitsuki had just knocked out. There was no way Mitsuki would willingly leave the girl helpless out here, unless David planned on bringing her along? But no, she realized that that was not in his plans. She would not go willingly with him, she would not leave the girl by herself. Mitsuki would take the girl to the infirmary (she wasn't all THAT damaged, but it was the only secure place in the school) and then she would follow Mr. Blaze to wherever he directed. Unfortunately for Mitsuki, that wasn't in his plan either.
She was tossed over his shoulder and Mitsuki stiffened up like a board. She pulled her upper body and gripped his shoulders with her hands. She could struggle, but she knew David had a vice grip - he might let her go, but to let her go would mean that the fight would be initiated.
"David, the girl," she spoke firmly, but she wasn't sure if he could hear her through the wind. He was running very fast, the area around her a blur.
Next thing she knew, she was tossed to the ground like a rag doll. That was fine; she quickly recovered to find David undressing and ordering her to do the same. David already had all of her items, so it's not like taking off her clothes would do anything other than expose her skin. Toys? He had her toys. Qi? She couldn't even use it - the last time she did, it was with him, and it burned out. He stood before her in his boxers, and she fiercely stared into his eyes.
She would undress herself as he did. She pulled off her jeans first, revealing her legs and, to get into some minor detail, black underwear. If she had worn sweats, there would have been shorts on underneath - but she wasn't sure if he'd want that off, too. She peeled off her sweater, revealing a black tank top - did he want that off as well? She didn't take it off, though. Instead, she simply tied it up so it was just under her bra, which was also black, with a rubber band. It would have been easier if she wore a sports bra, but she did not plan on doing any strenuous activity for the day when she got dressed, so...
And voila, Mitsuki's well toned body was, more or less, revealed.
"You have all my flashy toys," she spoke, her voice dead.
...um.
The two are...well, almost completely naked. The thought of there being sexual tension never crossed Mitsuki's mind, but she couldn't help but feel as if this situation were similar to....to something, but she couldn't remember.... She shook the thought off.
Hopefully, sexual tension won't result in the midst of the battle.
OOC: Rawr, I forgot to mention that she took off her shoes and socks. Well, she did. I'm too lazy to edit. >:[

David would only stare. Mitsuki was...ah...to say that is she had a very well formed body. David, however, wasn't paying attention to- okay lie. But he wasn't concentrating on it. Though calm and collected at almost all times, he was still a man, but this was something beyond the tension. He would...try and control himself when they touched each other, and he knew though he wouldn't admit it that things might happen. Regardless, he cracked his neck, the pile of items on the floor giving him reason to frown. What had he said earlier about these? About her taking them off? He cleared his head. They were hers again, starting now. He reached down, grabbing the girls body and dragging it to a corner, leaving it propped there before walking back, rolling his shoulders. He shot forward, aiming to slam an elbow into her sternum. It would begin, and though he was unsure of her ability without the items, he would be pushing his hardest. This would be total Training, an all around version of the small, lifeless, lustless trainings they had before. At the end of this? She would not only have her items, but a stronger will, and a more devoted self relience. This is what he hoped, and would push her toward. OOC((Sorry its short, had to edit it ya know Also, what are her stats itemless?))

Statistics: Strength: 29 Dexterity: 34 Constitution: 50 Intelligence: 44 Wisdom: 29 Charisma: 39
Mitsuki pulled up a stance; her right leg was in front of her left, and her arms followed suit. Her right arm was placed a little ways in front and above of her chest, while her left was closer to her mid-torso. So a direct attack to her sternum would prove to be difficult, especially since she so heavily guarded herself, yet if he were to aim an attack on her left hand, it would most definitely push her arm into her chest, causing the young Asian to hit herself. The thing is, David Blaze was fast; her eyes could not keep up with the boys movements, and so Mitsuki was unsure how to go about this fight. Well, at least she knew David was relatively close to her. And how did she know this? Because he attacked her; her left arm, being close to her sternum, had 'blocked' David's attack - indirectly, of course. His strike only pushed Mitsuki's arm into her chest, so in a way, David's attack was successful to a certain degree. But when his attack connected with her arm, she felt herself taking a steps back.
But now with her body's battle reflexes kicking in, she would retaliate with a strike to his collarbone with her right hand which was shaped into a dragon's fist. The pain she was feeling was more aimed towards her arm than her chest - but her arm had been broken several times, and when the bone mends itself, they say that it becomes stronger. Maybe it was true, but as far as she could tell, the most she would get out of that one attack would be a nasty bruise. She wasn't sure if David was holding back or not - but...to be honest? She wouldn't even know unless he made it obvious.
