Matrim knew he was going to have some resistance when it came to finding people who would side with him. Emily was out, David was out, Linda wasn't really there, and he didn't really mind who filled the spots so much as it made sense for them too. He needed somebody sports like that was a bit of an attitude to fill the VC spot. Just to keep things natural.
And then he needed someone popular, in the in-crowd. Someone who knew everyone that he could trust to some extent. Someone who was overall a pretty good person in some ways. Somebody who could get on the good side of everyone. He didn't even care if they betrayed him in the end so long as they did their job.
"Well how am I going to do this......"
He then set the banner up as the bell rang for the end of the school day, a big huge banner on the outside of the school that read, "WHO WANTS TO BE A PILLAR?!?!?!?"
Yeah it was corny. And sure the button on his shirt that said 'I'm a Pillar, ask me how!' wasn't exactly the best idea. But meh, why not right?

Kevala was there. Her eyes falling upon the guy that started yelling out about becoming pillar.
Hmm..that was an interesting prospect. But still she was not sure that she would be ready for something like that. But then. Hey! Why not?
Moving over to him, her brown hair falling down around her face, her clothing choice the usual jeans and a tank top, she would speak up.
"I would be interested in taking a position."
Well with that kind of corny way of giving the title away, what more could be expected from her? She went with the flow and so this was the best she could come up with. It was all a matter of cut to the point it seemed here.
But then that was just the voice in her head driving her on. Heh

"Who wants to be a pillar?" Mitsukai read the banner quietly to herself. Heh if that was how Matrim was going to choose the most influential people in this school then things would crumple fast. Not like the place wasn't going to hell already but still this would most likely send it there faster. You did not just pick who the hell would take on such authority just like that, then any buffoon could get into power and thus the system would fall into chaos.
The sight of Kevala talking with the school captain had peaked her interest. Was Kev actually going to take a shot at this? Well it wasn't much of a shocker really. Hell it would be a cushy job and she did care about the school enough to make a difference, she had enough friends here to give a damn.
"So you are just giving positions away to anyone who wants them....isn't that a little bit risky?" She would ask as she came over towards the pair now. Well she was a bit curious but not very interested in any role. She was an unknown in the school, she didn't know many people and nor did she cared if the school fell or not. If it crumpled then so be it, as long as she wasn't affected too badly she did not care. Even so she had to question this captain's judgement. Though a bit odd Matrim did not seem to be stupid, and yet he was pulling off quite a dumb move. She had to wonder what he was thinking.

"I would be interested in taking a position." A girl said, Matrim didn't remember ever meeting this girl before and he smiled over at her.
"Well that's good, what's your name? And are you into sports or are you more of a people person type would you say?"
"So you are just giving positions away to anyone who wants them....isn't that a little bit risky?"
"Oh I'm not giving them away," Matrim said, crossing his arms, "That'd be foolish. What I'm doing is seeing who is interested. I've already turned away some chumps. But now what I'm looking for is simple, I'm scouting potential talent. For instance Mitsukai, do you play any sports? And do you like training with access to every athletic person in this school?"
He'd look between the two expecting a response from them. After all he wanted to see if their were strong enough to be pillars. If not, no biggy, he'd give them the titles and train them. Not like they had to be the strongest people in the school, that was his job to do, not theirs.

She would stand there, seeing Mitsu and smiling at her. Then as the guy spoke she would shrug softly.
"I am more of a people person you could say. I talk to a lot of the students and have several of them as friends."
She would eye him a bit suspiciously. She was not a very trusting person and she did not know what to make of this guy. She swore she had heard of him before. Did he not used to hang around Katsuri every once in awhile?
Oh well. No matter.
"I am Kevala Astaku. By the way."
Yeah the girl everyone knew to be the one Katsu up and left. If he did not know that she would be amazed but hey. She had gotten over it so why couldnt everyone else.
LIE!!!!
But that is what she told herself anyways.

"I like sports, I just don't like the team work involved in some sports." She answered a bit cautiously. Yes it was true she did actually like sports. Gym had been her favorite class in elementary school but it was hard to play with teams when your team mates hated you. It was why though her teachers had begged her every year to join a team she refused.
She could see where this was going and she was not sure how she felt about it. Mitsukai was more of the neutral type, not striving to obtain a high status but not wanting to just follow the higher ups blindly. She only needed to be strong enough to survive by the end of the day, no more no less. So why bother to become a pillar?
Even if she did say yes if he did seriously offer her a role how would the students react to that? Sure she could get the job done but if the students did not accept her then no matter what she did no one would be pleased.
"You might as well forget considering me an option here. I have no leadership skills to have anyone willingly follow me. Besides unlike Kev here I am not well known, people might get angry with you for giving me anything."

"Well I'll put it like this then," He said, "Kevala, as the Head of the High School Newsletter, you would need to report on events and people within the school. Gossip, fights, basically you learn things and report them to the student body. With this job comes a very nice perk," Matrim said holding up a ring of a bunch of keys, "Not only would you be free to train with your fellow pillars whenever, but you'd have access to everywhere on campus... including the boys locker room. Not to mention it'd give you a chance to meet more people, learn more about people in general, and give you a high social status."
He then turned to Mitsukai, "There are many things that go with Varsity Captain. One of which is training, you would be training the athletes in this school. You'd become stronger. As for leadership skills, you don't need them. That's what I'm for. But I'll tell you this much, pillars attract attention. They attract fighters, and with each and every challenge they become stronger. A few years back I wanted to title of School Captain for one reason and one reason alone, because people would come to me for fights. Also, you don't have to be a people person to make yourself a leader and have others follow you. Fear is also a very good motivator in getting people to follow you. Rule the jocks with an iron fist, kick their asses from here to every away game for all I care."
He'd wait for a response from both of them, and add in, "Not to mention as School Captain I'd take an active interest in training you two to keep yourselves strong. Along with the Student Body President."

She listened to the reasoning behind what he wished of her. She had to admit that it did sound good. Nodding softly she would let him finish explaining and then turn to look at Mitsu. Judging her reactions to what he said and then turning back to him.
"Well I am interested if you think I could handle the job. I do take an interest in what others are doing and I have been looking for something that would put me in the know around here. Not to mention writing is one of my passions. It just seems to fit."
She shrugged softly and would now wait for Mitsu to speak up. She never really could tell what was going on with the girl anymore. So, for this instance she worried about herself.

Mitsukai contemplated Matrim's words for a minute. Well the idea of growing stronger, and meeting more stronger opponents over time was actually kind of appealing. This might actually be worth her time. It couldn't hurt now could it? Hey if she didn't like it she could always just resign. Not only that but he was offering to help them grow stronger too. How bad could that be?
"It might be interesting to try out I guess." she replied. "Sure I'll try it out....not like I have anything else better to do."

"It might be interesting to try out I guess. Sure I'll try it out....not like I have anything else better to do.""That's the spirit," He said with a grin on his face. He looked at the two of them for a little bit and then said, "Well in that case, I'll give you both the titles. It's official you are both now pillars. Expect competition, expect fights, expect a lot of fun, and more than anything expect to do your jobs alright?" He said, "Also as for me training you, it's on a whenever basis. Middle of class and want to train? Just call me," He handed them both a slip of paper with his and Sara's cell numbers, "The Student Body President is Sara Quinn if you don't know, I suggest you seek her out and meet her. Train with her as well, train with each other. And whenever you want to spar with me, or need me for anything just let me know." He then would grin, "Heck, if you wanted to Spar right now I wouldn't be against it. Two on one and everything. A friendly match, nothing serious or anything. Wouldn't want to hurt you two after all." He'd wink at them. Whoa, all my pillars are girls did not think that one through. Sara is going to be tough on them.....

She would smile. She was gonna like this. She really was. Though now came the problem of Sky. He was going to be very angry with her. This was a betrayal. But Kevala was always one to look out for what was best for herself.
It had been fun with Sky, but when you think back you saw all the stuff he had done to her was horrible and she wanted a change. Something for the better. This would be that change.
She could already tell things were going to get bad before they got better. But she would deal with it as it happened. It did no good to worry about such a thing.
As he mentioned sparring off, she would grin. Well it was not a bad idea. She had been training with Sky but now that would come to an end. This would be the person she now had to turn to for such things. But that was fine. Things were getting a bit heated between the two of them anyways. Time for a break. She thought so at least.
"I am up for training anytime. I am going to be needing a new trainer."

Mitsukai smiled in response to Kevala's answer. It sounded like she was not going to be the only one to leave Sky behind. Though it might be harder on Kev because she was closer to him then Mitsukai ever was but she would get over it. Besides Matrim seemed more capable. He'd have to be since he was the School captain.
"I am ready to train anytime it doesn't matter." She answered Matrim. She always took her training very seriously no matter how difficult. Which she did hope his would be. No good training was easy, to become strong one would have to struggle to achieve power. That struggle will pay off in the end, and she hoped that would be the case here.

"Alright then, first things first. If you two don't know much about each other, do so in the next ten seconds," He said as he started walking into a grass clearing, right into the middle of the area, turning around and walking backwards so that he could talk to them as he walked backwards, "You two are going to fight me. You can fight each other if you want to, that's cool. But either way I want you to attack me. Here's the way this is going to work. I can only attack one of you at a time, that will be up to you. Call out MARCO, and that lets me know you are my new target. Catching on? You have to save your ally from me attacking them by taking me on yourself."
He then put both arms up, "When you're both ready and have decided who is going to take aggro first, just call out MARCO and I'll know to go after you."

She would listen to him speak. Okay so this was different. But by all means she was up for anything at this point.
Setting her bag down she would look to Mitsu. Okay so she knew the girl like the back of her hand sometimes. So getting to know her was not a top issue. Instead she would grin and nod in his direction.
"By all means. You go first. "
She giggled lightly and would then turn her gaze toward him. Yes let her get her ass kicked again today. It was a never ending cycle for her. Bah! Oh well she could handle it. She always did.

"By all means. You go first. "
Mitsukai grinned, no surprise that she would be the one to go first. That was usually her style was it not? To take the beating while the everyone else tried to strike down the opponent. She would nod, silently agreeing to be 'it'. Walking back a bit closer towards Matrim, just not enough to be right in front of him, just a couple of feet away she would go into a defensive stance.
"Marco." Now she would wait for him to move, preparing to do what she could to avoid being hit. She might be the punching bag for now but that did not mean she would just stand there and take the beating.
