The courtyard. It was only a couple of months into the school year, and it was already shattered and battle scarred. Ryu had had his hand in that already. At least twice he'd done massive amounts of damage to this place. Wood patched up a five foot wide and seven foot tall hole in the red brick side of building two. A huge jagged tree stump was sitting a fair distance away from building one, and some thirty feet away from that lay the tree it had been attached to.
That one he'd thrown at the Student Body President, smashing quite a number beneath the top of it. Hell, there were still a few bloodstains on the boughs of the destroyed and quickly dying tree. Little good it had done him....
And now the Evil Angel was back, and ready to raise some hell. Not that he was planning on destroying any thing but... Well, let's just say, he wasn't very popular lately. Or...more over, a little too popular. No one knew his name, but they knew his face. Most of the idiots thought he still had the Pillar title, too.
Regardless, Ryu walked down the sidewalk running across the diagonal between the four buildings. Minding his own business as per usual, *cough*bullshit*cough* when a small group of students approached Ryu in an extremely cliche' manner. "Kora, kora, kora!" Ryu's brow twitched at the Japanese, this prick thought he was slick, huh? "You're the Varsity Captain, ain't ya?"
...Know what, fuck it, let's have some fun.
Ryu's face panned up and broke in a manic grin, brow knit together. "Yeah. What about it?" He asked in a less deep tone of voice, head cocked, looking like the fuckin' psycho that he was. Two of the five were taken aback at the reaction, the leader gulped before putting his shit eating grin back on, playing it off.
"Zatso? Well then, I guess that makes me the VC now, don't it?" He started walking forward a bit, hands in his pockets.
With that, Ryu bolted up to the student...to guess, Ryu'd have to say nineteen. Poor bastard didn't even see it coming as Ryu's right hand gripped the guy's throat, grin gone, pupils dilated just for the fuck of it. " 'Zatso?' " Mimicking the guy. "Well then, I guess that means your life is forfeit." His tone was back to its normal level, his massively deep voice booming with his full bass. From here, Ryu proceeded to-- Literally in two cases-- beat the shit out of the five of them.

It was just one of those days that Mitsukai had the urge to move about. Lately during her free time in school she had been spending it on the roof or in the library to read but she was quickly getting bored of it. She needed a slight change in pace so naturally the girl decided to take a walk around the school grounds. It was then that she saw something interesting.
Now it was not like fighting was rare in 259. In fact it was all too common. Trying to pound the shit out of someone else was the usual response for the neanderthals in this messed up place, she was quite used to seeing random brawls here and there but this one was a little bit different. First this was no ordinary fight, more like one massive guy pounding on a group of frightened punks, it was rather sad she almost felt sorry for the guys.....almost. Second of all the man wailing on the guys was someone that she knew all to well though she still did not know his real name >.> It was the guy that stole her VC title.
Mitsukai just stood nearby watching the big guy beat the other guys up for a moment. The last time she had saw him was at fight club where he nearly beat her yet again. He had seemed a little less like a total asshole then before but judging by what he was doing right now nothing had changed. It was a little sad really. Sure she did not know what these idiots had done to deserve the beating they were getting, nor was she the type to risk getting herself hurt for a bunch of people that she did not know but the scene before her was simply pathetic. A part of her felt like she needed to say something.
"Do you always fight those who are clearly weaker then you?" She would say loud enough for the big man to here. Her feline eyes looking at him passively, almost bored. "You have proven your point your stronger then that lot so, there is no need to hit them when they are already down." Yeah she was being a bit bold here, especially when the last two times she faced the man he clearly showed how easily he could over power her. She was not ready to fight him yet, heck she didn't even want to fight him now and yet here she was. Pratically telling him off, not even showing an ounce of fear or concern for her own well being.
Why?
She didn't even know but something about what he was doing didn't sit right with the girl. That was why she had to convince him to stop. Somehow.

To be honest, Devon wasn't all that surprised at the rather... disheveled state of the school grounds. This was, after all, a school well known for its strong fighters and bouts of violence. She looked over the courtyard... Honestly, could she really call it that? It was more like a war zone. None the less, fresh air was fresh air. Even sitting next to a blood-stained, dying tree.
...Yeah, she chose some odd places to relax.
Anyway, she was just sitting there cross-legged, snacking on a bag of sunflower seeds and doing her a little Kakuro puzzle from her book, when something picked up her ear. Some guy calling out in Japanese or something.
~"Kora, kora, kora!"~
"...Baka, baka, baka..."
She muttered this to herself, looking up to see what was going on. She noticed a couple of punks surrounding some Japanese kid... who, might I mention, was VERY large for a Japanese kid. She simply watched the exchange with mild interest as she usually did... until the Japanese kid gripped the punk by the neck and announced the punk's fate in his deep, booming voice.
............
.....Was that a chill?
........Weird. That doesn't happen often.
Her expression remained calm, yet the rest of her body language said it all. She was completely still, frozen in place, watching the violent display before her. This kid had skills. Real skills.
It was love fangirlism admiration at first sight She liked his style. Bah, screw it. She was intrigued. Which, considering that this was Devon we were talking about, was a rather large compliment.
Another girl came up and tried to stop him, noting that his opponents were already defeated. Were Devon the expressive type of girl, she probably would have rolled her eyes at this. It was those punks' damn fault that they challenged the kid anyways. Bitches got it coming, in Devon's opinion. She would have gone on in and said this, but something in the back of her mind told her to wait for a bit, see how this played out. Either way, this would certainly be an interesting show. And she even had some snacks to go with the movie.
*Munch munch munch*
She munched on a few more seeds, her zombie-like gaze watching the two intently as she waited to see what would happen next.

Ryu had the last one by the ankle. Still awake, barely. The rest were strewn about a twenty foot area, round-abouts. Turning around at the sound of a familiar voice, Ryu spotted the black-ish girl. "Well, if it isn't Mitsukai Shinoda." Unconsciously driving the fact that she didn't have his name in like a nail, his right arm swung out, carrying the student with it, who grunted as his face was dragged across the grass. "If they have the balls to step up to me, yes. Yes I do." His tone was light, his psychosis was somewhat fed. The bass in his voice still present, however. "None of them are dead. Isn't that what matters?" Chaos hadn't begged him for death, only blood.
His arm waved again as he spoke, his legs carrying a very slight swagger as he walked toward her a touch. "Besides, this one's still awake. He's not down yet." As if to justify Ryu's point, the guys arm slid toward Ryu's leg, gripping his pants slightly. With a growling, bestial shout that echoed around the area, Ryu's arm whipped the guy around, and then hurled him a little over Mitsukai's head. With a final grunt, the guy was knocked the FUGGOUT with a little more bruising to his back.
"See? Now he's done. And now I'm done." His head tilted to the side, then straightened out, in a notion of concession. "With them, any way. You, though. It's been quite a few days, hasn't it?" Shaking out his arms a little bit, then sliding his right foot back, serious again. "You know you want to kick my ass, little one."

Mitsukai would give him no response as he acknowledge her presence. If he thought that she would get a bit mad that though he knew her name while she still didn't know his he was sadly mistaken. Mitsukai didn't give a fuck what his name was really. The bastard was a good enough name for him for now.
She did not move as he threw the last guy over her head, hell she didn't even blink. She just stood there, arms cross as she watched him approach her.
"See? Now he's done. And now I'm done." "With them, any way. You, though. It's been quite a few days, hasn't it?" "You know you want to kick my ass, little one."
"don't call me little." she retorted her voice low and dangerous as she spoke. He knew very well that she wanted nothing more then to kick his ass to next week. But as it stood now she did not have a chance. But would it be wise to walk away now? The last person she refused to fight and had walked away from had made her suffer for turning her back to him.....though not of course with any physical damage but it had taught her to never do something so foolish again.
Still she knew how this was going to end and she rather not have to waste another few weeks worth of training over such a stupid thing. Besides the only thing pushing her to hit him now was anger, and if she could not control that side of her then she was certain to lose.
"I have better things to do with my time then waste another moment with you." she told him simply and with that she would turn to leave. Mentally preparing herself for the blow that was bound to come.

Devon's head followed the path of the last goon's body as it sailed over the girl's head and hit the ground. Her head snapped right back to the conversation as it continued.
...So they have a bit of a history, eh? And sounds to me like he probably handed her ass to her.
Sadly enough, however, it did not seem as if this Shinoda chick was in the mood for another asswhuppin'. It was a bit of a shame... would have been interesting to watch their fight, get a better idea of how these 259 kids fought, so that she could get a better idea about where she stood. Hell, maybe she could find one to give her some tips if she decided they were good enough. She kinda doubted that she would find one soon, but even so... this Japanese kid did pique her interest a little bit.
Ehhhh, who knew?
*Munch munch munch*
Though a bit disappointed in where this was leading to, she kept watching none the less, hoping this little movie in front of her would have a turn-around.

Ryu threw his head back and broke out in ravenous psychotic laughter, chilling the air throughout the courtyard for a few frightening moments before his voice boomed. "Don't bullshit me, little girl!" His body was leaned forward, eyes wide with gleeful psychosis. That manic grin reached clear across his face, revealing perfectly white, pointed bones. "You live to fight me, Ex-Pillar!" He shouted across the whole of the courtyard, his deep booming voice like a megaphone, the fangs in his mouth seeming to gleam right along with the shining halos that were his husky blue eyes. "You can't stand the fact that I've crushed you twice already! You can't stand the fact that I can destroy you without breaking a sweat, can you!?" His arms occasionally moved with powerful emphasis of his words. "You live to see me under your heel, Mitsukai Shinoda!" He'd long been yelling at the top of his lungs, the air heavy with his words. His grin was still stretched wide across his face, his chest heaving slightly, adding to the appearance of the Psychotic Demon who was sitting at the edge of his seat, deep within Ryu's mind. After a moment, his leg would slide back, his arms would come up again, and his voice would sound at a normal volume. "So I say again, little one.... You know you want to kick my ass," His left hand would wave her toward him. "Come."

That laugh stopped her in her tracks.
"Don't bullshit me, little girl!" "You live to fight me, Ex-Pillar!"
Mitsukai turned around and growled at the insane man's smiling face. What the hell did he think she was? Yes she did have a grudge against the man but it was not like her entire life revolved around him. His booming voice had caught the attention of some of the other students nearby. Great just what Mitsukai needed....more people.
"You can't stand the fact that I've crushed you twice already! You can't stand the fact that I can destroy you without breaking a sweat, can you!?" "You live to see me under your heel, Mitsukai Shinoda!"
Those feline eyes narrowed making her look like a angry wild cat, he body shaking with uncontrollable rage with each word he spoke. It was like that bastard was pounding salt into her still bleeding pride and she could not stand it. That fury was beginning to blind her common sense, before she was being practical to try and hold back earlier know full well that now was not the time to start anything, but now, now that thought had left her mind. Replaced but the sudden urge to make a blood smear on the ground with his body.
"So I say again, little one.... You know you want to kick my ass," "Come."
That was it......she snapped. In a roar of rage she went for him, not even thinking about her actions as she made a move to punch him in his groin at full force and full speed. He had made her angry enough to aim there first. That fist would come up again this time to deliver a swift uppercut to his chin, then once a gain for his gut. If that succeeded she would deliver a round house kick to his side, just before she would send a flurry of punches around the mid and lower sections of his body as fast as she could. Mitsukai was in a state of pure fury, it didn't not matter to her what she was doing so long as she could release that tension caused by the bastard before her that caused it.

fuckin'..........................................................................................
The next few sunflower seeds a mere centimeter from her parted lips, Devon stared at the Japanese boy's completely-fuckin'-psychotic behavior. Yeah, she could tell... this wasn't just some punk playin' it up to gain a reputation while he plays with Barbie dolls at home. This was a true-blue-psychopath.
...................................................Niiiiiiiice.
No, seriously. Crazies were awesome in her book. She related to them more than most "normal" people, in any case. A strong crazy was even better. Now, a strong crazy with the cleverness to get his opponents riled up the right way and make clumsy moves, AND do it all in style?
...Yeah, that was it. She had to learn more about this kid.
Though this girl seemed to have a good deal of talent, too, she noted as the fight began. Ex-Pillar... ahhhh, so that would explain the "Varsity Captain" bit. He stole her title by kicking her ass, then she tried to get revenge, and he kicked her ass again. Something like that, anyway. In any case, this shrimp was no regular fighter.
Then again, the Japanese kid wasn't, either.
...Aw, damn. Dropped my seeds.
Devon distractedly shoved her hand back into the back and picked up another handful, popping it back in her mouth, her eyes on the fight the entire time. She didn't want to miss a single second.

"Yes! That's it!" He roared as his left leg whipped back, sliding out of the way of her first attack. He'd improved since their last fight, and he was now even faster. His head swayed back out of the range of the uppercut "Hate me! Crush me! Kill me!" His forearm blocked her kick, the sheer speed of it stinging his arm, "Yes! Hatred and anger give you power!" His steps were quick as he pulled back out of the range of several of her attacks, just barely avoiding them "Come to the dark side, young one!"
Then he stopped retreating, bracing his legs against her advance. Ryu's gut tensed and took three bruising shots right in the hardened muscles before his heavy right hand would whip down, faster and harder than anything she could muster. In both of their fights, he never struck her in the face, but now he wasn't holding back. That fist would drop down right across her left cheek with a roaring shout, looking to smash her into the ground at his feet. From there, whether she'd gotten hit or managed to avoid, his body would drop down to a crouch. Pick up a sweeping left uppercut, it would aim about her solar plexus, and launch her high up into the air.
Success here would result in more violent and giddy laughter as he waited for her to come down, only to deliver a well timed rising kick to what ever part of her face down. Failure to launch with the rising upper would bring his body up, using his momentum to lash out a longer limb in a similar rising kick, looking to punt her clear across the Court yard. Not once did or would that massive grin leave his face.

Mitsukai could not hear a word he said. Even if she wanted to her anger had forced away any of her other senses. All she could see was him, all she could think about was destroying the enemy before her.
Her opponent went on the offensive, that fist flying towards her face. She ducked to avoid the hit and just barely made it. He ducked and sent an uppercut her way, instinctively she tried to block the hit but failed, hoer body being tossed up in the air. Another kick slamming into her gut just as she fell back down. Her tiny form landing a little ways off of him.
Mitsukai found herself gasping for breath as she tried to stand back up again. This fight was already not going well for her and it just started. Matrim's voice resounded in her head as she remembered what he had told her in the fight club about her weakness. It was her rage that was holding her back. It stopped her from thinking about how to act in order to better protect herself. If she wanted a chance at winning this she would have to control herself this time. Hell if she could keep herself calm long enough to win then this bastard would no longer hold anything against her, she'd have plenty of time to rub that in his face this time around.
Catching her breath again Mitsukai would bury that anger she had started out with down inside. Her entire expression devoid of any emotions as she came after her opponent again. Her natural fighting instincts had kicked in once again. Not allowing any time to think about anything other then the man before her and how she would defeat him.
At top speed Mitsukai would quickly close the gap between them. Her right fist flying for his face. Or so it would seem as her left fist would slam into his mid-section instead. Whether successful or not she would slam her right leg into his side and then another jab to his face, intending to break the man's nose if it landed.

Ryu's grin lessened as her rage vanished before his eyes. "Aww, that's no fun, Shinoda." His tone the same, volume decreased, however. "Anger is a good thing, little one. How do you think I got this far?" His body launched back, hovering above the ground only an inch or two as he avoided both the feint and its true attack. "I hated and killed my way to this power!" He shouted, canceling all backward momentum, and reversing it, launching himself forward.
His expression no longer one of manic glee, but irritation, where was the fun if she was no longer mad? Where was his fun if she was no longer trying to kill him? Where was his fun if she was no longer a beast? Answer: It lay in becoming the beast, himself. That psychotic grin returned and his right fist launched over as his hips twisted and feet kicked off of the ground. A full force punch would meet her knee as she kicked, striking the right side of the knee cap, likely dislocating it as the entirety of his weight and then some was pressed against it as his body whipped into the air.
A roaring shout rumbled from his throat as his entire form inverted and spun counter clockwise, his left heel dropping full force for her left shoulder. The right leg would follow it in an instant, slicing in to smash her right in the left side of her head. Hits with either of these kicks would result in him launching off of her body, spinning back the other way, and landing in a crouch facing her, that demonic expression plastered all over his face.
An unlikely miss with both kicks would result in Ryu completing an over complicated butterfly kick, to be followed by a spinning back fist across her temple with the left as he continued the counter clockwise rotation.

"Aww, that's no fun, Shinoda." "Anger is a good thing, little one. How do you think I got this far?"
Mitsukai could barely hear his words as if she were numb to everything. She had to be, she had made the decision to control it for this fight. To some extent anger had helped her before. It helped her to be tough in troubling situations, it kept her standing when all hope was loss, and it drove her desire to fight. But that rage was a double edge sword, it blocked off her common sense and got her into unnecessary trouble, and in a fight that rage would make her slip up and make costly mistakes. No matter what her opponent said she could not make the same mistakes again. Matrim was right. She needed to learn self control in order to make a difference.
"I hated and killed my way to this power!"
Again he made his move, that fist connecting with her knee as she made to kick him. The pain was sudden and fierce, she could not help but shout out in pain. It was enough of a distraction that she had little time to react as he spun. Both landing to their targets. She fell down almost losing consciousness.
Just as she thought. She would lose this match once again. If she was smart she would just stay where she was an surrender. But Mitsukai would not do so. Her anger was threatening to rise up to the surface. She did not want to end things this way. She wanted to beat her opponent and while she was still in the conscious world she would see that she did. Mitsukai would force herself back up, black and red dots fighting for dominance over her brain. The pain form her most likely dislocated knee screaming in protest but she bit back the pain. It would certainly slow her down but it would not stop her.
Looks like I will have to pay another visit to the nurses office. she thought as she stood up. Who knows maybe Sara might pay me a visit again? She'd certainly would like to hear how I ended up back there.
Mitsukai tried to move but the pain had caused her to stumble in her first attempted. She let out a hiss in annoyance as once again she had to fight off her increasing rage. The bastard was practically mocking her and she couldn't do anything about it. Focus girl, your getting no where by being upset. she had to remind herself as she went for him once again.
An uppercut would come towards his stomach. Intending to knock the air out of him as she would slam her fist on the side of his face at full strength. It would be then if any of those moves were successful that she would take that injured leg and slam it to his side. After all it might hurt like hell but she cold not afford to risk the other one to be injured and it would be damn worth it if she could hurt the bastard in turn.
If the first attack had failed she would move to his left, quickly taking a quick leap back and launching herself forward. Slamming her tiny body into his massive figure to hopefully at least making the big guy stumble, if she hit her mark she would use that time to slam her fist in his face, make a jab for his kidneys and another blow to his groin.
She knew it was only a matter of time before he beat her or she passed out again so she had to make what little time she had count. If she could at least bruise the bastard then that was satisfying enough till she could beat him once she reached his level.

Hmm... this was interesting. So he didn't have quite the motivation to make the girl angry as she expected. Devon just kept on watching, paying less attention to her snack and much more to the fight at hand. It seemed that he preferred his opponents angry for the increased danger aspect. That worked, too, she supposed. And he did have a bit of a point; in the right hands, anger could indeed be a very dangerous tool. She had seen so herself... though she had not used it. Showing her true emotions to anyone, especially to those who could use them to their own advantage or sense of self-worth, had been something that she had managed to hide away for a great deal of her life. It was dangerous, both to others and especially to herself, to show what she felt. Of course, she spoke her mind fine and all, but tried her best to keep her emotion at a constant.
It had been difficult at first, but over the years of abuse, keeping her emotions on track had become almost second nature to Devon. It had, in a way, become who she was today. First, she had hidden them, and then, she had started to... stop feeling them, in a way. Well, she felt them a little, but they were not nearly as strong as they once were. She had sort of become numb to them.
...But this man seemed to embrace his emotions fully and completely. It was an odd thing, seeing this battle against one who was trying to keep their emotions in check like she often did, and another who embraced them fully. And the one who embraced his emotions... was winning.
*....................Munch.................*
She wasn't even paying much attention to her snack now, munching one last handful before subconsciously placing them on the ground.
This was destiny at hand. She knew it. She was meant to see this fight. This fight contained one of the answers she had been seeking for so long. She knew that she had to watch it, and she would watch it... until the last punch was thrown, until the last time the girl's body would hit the floor.

Ryu stayed in his crouched position, expression not faltering for a moment as his elbows rested on his knees in a manner very indicative of Japanese delinquents. He sat there, watching her. Just watching. Observing. Waiting. He didn't press the attack, but nor was he taunting her, despite the obvious appearance of it all. She still had the drive to get back up and keep coming. That was good. That was very good. She may not have rage on her side any more-- she would have gotten up already-- but she still hated him, she still wanted to beat him.
That would suffice. For now.
Ryu stood, and set up again she'd gotten a taste of what his true prowess was like, prowess that he hadn't used in years. Prowess that he was rusty using. He could feel it himself, his movements had been sloppy. Choppy. They got the job done thanks to his set up, but his timing was off, his rotation...slow. He would have to work on that. Perhaps with the black girl who was just now coming to her feet. Perhaps with the little girl by the tree, about whom they were both still oblivious.
He would need an area where they could train in peace, however, not interrupted by the constant ravaging bullshit that occurred in this school. Challenges, accidents, random acts of violence. This shit, that shit, Chris Kirkpatrick. It was all much too distracting from the main idea. It would cause one to loose focus on the task at hand. No, he needed somewhere isolated. Someplace he could bring others to train and do nothing but. A house perhaps. Yes. That would do nicely.
Speaking of loosing focus, she was back on her feet and charging again. Between her knee and the shot she'd taken to the head, she was moving slower. His stomach tensed and he exhaled with the first shot, taking it in stride. Weaker too. She was already tired. She'd already lost, but she wasn't giving up. That too, was good. Even better, actually. Not only was she not giving up when she had yet to lose, she was refusing to give up now that she had already lost.
His head moved back, avoiding the second punch, and his left hand raised, catching her kick by the ankle. He would have done it gently enough, but it still would cause her pain as his right hand whipped to her neck, looking to grip her more around the collar than the throat, trying not to choke her. "You've already lost. Rest for now." He'd say in a calm voice, the grip he would have on her lifting up, looking to pick her up, and slam her flat on her back, trying to knock her out without causing her any more damage. After all, she wouldn't give up otherwise, would she?
