He listened soflty remaining steadfast to the door as he watched with a concerned gaze. So they were referring to each other by surnames now as though they were long lost friends of the sort? A soft beat of the eyes as Gabriel leaned on the door cill contemplative. He'd remain silent until due time when he needed to reply, it was already apparent this man knew far more than GAbriel did himself, though he doubted that this Farren could truly understand who GAbriel was which was his only solitude in this scenario.
"Thats the plan..." GAbriel said softly.
He had made a few promises to people that he'd remain here for as long as need be for their protection, and for their better judgment. Thoughts ticked by in his head as he tried relating this to another scenario. The meeting he'd had with the Student Dean, yes if Mr. Farren tried a similar route he'd be sorely dissappointed.
Crimson hues traced to Kevala as she enacted a sense of quick movement, perhaps a shap of her own confidence perhaps her simply being by him would make them get through this all. A cold gaze shifted unemotive as it'd been since he entered. The emotions he'd reveal would be of his own choosing unwilled or altered by any others.
"So Mr. Farren," GAbriel said slinking from his doorway as he stuck pleasantly into his seat setting a hand on the arm and resting his cheek, "Where do we stand here..?"

There was that 'Mister' shit again. I rolled my eyes slightly and said with only a hint of annoyance, "Please, don't call me 'mister' anything. Just Farren." I may not have been a teen any more but I was far from being old and mature enough to be a mister. Closing Gabe's file and tossing it onto my desk top, I walked around to the front and leaned against the heavy wood, crossing my large arms over my chest. The small office had filled up quickly and I barely needed to speak louder than usual to make sure everyone heard.
"Where we stand...we stand pretty well, as long as we reach an understanding. I did threaten Kevala's kids but I don't want anything to happen to them. That is a last resort for me but I wanted to make it clear that I'm willing to go to those lengths. As for you, I brought up the college thing because I want you to know that, as Guidance Counselor, I have the power to make that disappear. Or at the very least make your academic career very, very shitty."
"The next question would be, 'Why am I doing this?' The answer is that I have plans. 'Working within the system to change the system.' I want to help students free themselves. And I want my plans to work with as little bloodshed as possible. I've seen and lived through the horrors that war and revolution inside schools create. I don't want that to happen here."
"So what I want from Kevala is cooperation. She'll not have to worry about a single thing, with her or the kids or anybody, as long as she uses her high position in school affairs to keep me informed. And what I want from you, Gabe, is to stay away. Stay out of my way and out of anything that happens in the near future. Don't pick a side. My vendetta is with the system, not you, and not the students. Do that and you can enjoy your time here as you like, in peace."
I scratched my scruffy chin, realizing that took a lot of talking to get everything out. Eying the two of them cautiously yet sternly I said "Any questions?

Inside her anger rose. This guy thought he could use her? He could hide behind all his fancy talk about the system and wanting to change it all he wanted. But in the end he was indeed wishing to use her and Kevala did not handle that type of thing well.
~But if you think about it...Gabriel uses you.~
~That is different!~
~How is that different?~
~It just is!~
It was, at least in her mind, because of things that had happened between the two. To her, Gabriel did not use her and if he did then she was fine with it. This guy. A man who read some notes in her file and thought to try and use what he knew about her to his advantage. He was the problem. She stayed silent, her arms crossed over her chest as she let her eyes shift from Gabriel to Farren and then back again. She was not sure what Gabriel would say to this....he was so very unpredictable most of the time. Sighing softly she would run the tip of her tongue over her lips, her small hands clenching into fists as she thought about this ......person.......threatening her family.
She did not lay one ounce of trust in him to do as he said if she cooperated. No, he had proven to already be an untrustworthy character and she would not let herself even entertain the idea that if she did as he asked he would keep his word. That right there would be foolish and go against everything she had been taught thus far.

Gabriel chuckled quite innocently. Check, it would seem as though Farren had indeed fallen into the same move made by the Student Dean though in quite a different less pressing matter. Gabriel had already found the loopholes to this way out but he waited regardless hearing the young man out. There was often something that drove a man of this high caliber, something always drove people of power into issues that hadn't otherwise concerned them. Gabriel had been in most ways similar to this man battling an ever pressing conflict in the sakes of change. Though the key difference were their methods. Gabriel constantly worked outside of the rules which by most logic would show was the reason for Farren's hesitance about him.
"Interesting enough..."
Short words as Gabriel compiled a feasible enough response, because in all honesty he wanted Kev out of any potential harm and with the ambitious glaze to Farren; Gabriel wouldn't be putting her within a few meters of him.
"How about we start of fresh, I don't think threats are the most promising response because quite honestly we're each very intelligent, reasonable men here." Gabriel would start off setting a basic guidelines for them both it also gave him a bit of infrastructure to build off of.
"Now I'm sure if you know anything of high school it's that people will indeed take a side and it's highly promising I will as well now the question here is what is in m best interest that I will be on your side?" Gabriel set a calm sight on the man purely within reason, should he pass this part of Gabriel's test perhaps he'd give a bit more away.

I smirked at Gabe's response but silently chastised myself when I saw Kevala's angry body language. I really didn't like playing the bad guy but I really had no choice at this point. If things were to work I needed to appear the aggressor, the typical asshole teacher. Only with a slight difference.
"True enough, threats rarely work. Like I said I have no intention of carrying through with them. I just wanted you to understand what I'm capable of, what the stakes are."
Pushing off from my desk I walked over to the back and carefully unpinned a small, round piece of leather and fabric that was hanging there in a clear glass case. Looking over the case for a moment, I slowly strolled over to Gabe and held it out for him to take and examine.
"I understand high school quite well. That's my badge from PHS #552 in New York City. I was a Pillar."
"I don't care whether you're on my side or not. It may help you in the short term but, ultimately, I think you'd be best staying neutral as long as possible. I suggest simply protecting yourself and your loved ones. As for you Kevala, you're free to tell me 'fuck off', but understand that the danger to you and others increases because of it. Because things will get much, much worse before they get better."
Changing the system, no, obliterating the system, was my mission and mine alone. What others did to help or hinder me was their choice, not mine. The effects of what was to come would decide what others chose. I didn't expect to walk away from this. I doubted anyone would be able to escape unscathed.
"Consider this meeting your fair warning for the future."

She raised her brow. Oh she would tell him to go fuck himself if she could. But for now she waited. It was not really to wait on Gabriel, she merely wished to see where this went. See what more Gabriel had to say about this matter.
"Make no mistake that it would be my great pleasure to tell you to go fuck yourself Mister Treborn. But I want to know one thing. What is it that you have done in this meeting to show that if we..or at least I..go along with your wishes that you will not go back on your word.
Honestly. If you are going to be blackmailing people you should at least form some type of trust with them first. Otherwise you simply come off as the big, bad, pushy asshole on campus."
Her words may not have been the nicest ones ever to leave her lips but the tone was nothing but polite and sweet as usual. There was not a hint of spite or malice in her tone. No, she was simply stating a fact.
She leaned back in her chair. Her mind once again running off on its own.
~Why do you even bother!? Just tell him to go to hell and leave!~
~Because it is not what I do?~
~You need to just leave and let Gabriel handle this asshole~
~Yes and then miss out on all the fun if things get interesting?~
~True. Continue.~
Yes, it was always fun inside the mind of Kevala. Heh.

Gabriel's curiosity peaked at this notion of Farren being an old pillar. Gabriel had been Captain not to recently ago of course he demise from the position was of his own choice in the end. Though he wondered why the man wanted to put an end to this system? Though thinking on past experience at some point and time most pillars wanted the system dissassembled they simply lacked the power. Gabriel's original intention was to get rid of the pillar system entirely when he was younger, then as Captain he tried changing it into a Republic. However it would seem that Anarchy was a preferred result to the system. Bad timing it would seem.
"Perhaps there's a way we can be mutually benefitial towards each other's ends.. Considering of course you'd be willing to share a bit, than I'm sure I could manage to sway whatever suport I can your way." Gabriel glinted a chrming grin in his direction.
Two sayings remained present in his mind. Better to keep friends close but enemies closer; and the enemy of my enemy is my friend, quite personally he enjoyed the second to much avail. In time perhaps they'd meet and manage to duel alongside whichever direction they chose.

Interesting. From passive aggressive to manipulative charming in one turn. I should break out the ol' badge more often. I took the glass case back and laid it on my desk next to Gabe's file. It really was an interesting turn of events. Kevala was still hesitant, still angry - who could blame her. But now Gabe was trying to ease his way inside, for what exactly I hadn't the faintest idea, but I figured I'd go along. In a sense.
"That's because right now I am a big, pushy asshole Kevala. It's the role I need to play. I haven't given you any reason to trust me and you won't get one, at least not soon. Someone'll have to take a leap of faith 'cause it's a stalemate. I don't trust you and you don't trust me. The only difference is you have more to lose than I do."
I turned my attention back from the pretty one to the manly one. "You can turn the grin off Gabe, I used to use the same one to get into girls' pants at 552, I know it well. I'm still in the early stages so there's not much to tell. I wouldn't turn down help but it depends on what you want in exchange, what you want to know..."
I was getting tired of standing and leaning so instead I hopped up and took a seat on the edge of my desk, my toes just barely clearing the carpeted floor. I'd made my case to them both and as far as I was concerned I was all but done with speeches and debating. I'd get around whatever Gabe wanted and end this quickly.

She could not help but glare at the guy who thought he had it all figured out. She really did not like this guy and would say nothing else. She knew that in the end there were those who would keep her children safe if the need came. But for now she would listen.
She was done dealing with this arrogant asshole and would simply wait to see how Gabriel responded. She trusted his judgment in this situation. Hence why she had asked him here in the first place.
Her mind playing over the whole thing and thinking over what this guy asked exactly. Information....about people she cared about. Why? Was it to gain their weaknesses or what? She would never hand over anything to allow him to hurt those she cared about. She would die before she did that. She may have been a lot of things but she was not somebody who turned around and stabbed those in the back that had done so much for her.
He was just shit out of luck on that one.

Gabriel chuckled easily still holding a steady grin before going thoughtful once more. This fellow was all too much like him, but in a good way it intrigued Gabriel's sense of humor and excitement. Something was being planned and he wanted in. Selfishly enough he'd let Kevala stand back their nervous and furious in the same instant but under the current scene Gabriel didn't suspect mishaps on either end.
"Would you believe that I'm just out for a little fun before I part ways ?" Gabriel smirked in testament to his answer.
"Hows about this we leave Kevala out of this ordeal she's certainly had her fair share of mishaps. However I know just as many people as her, chances are probably more. Now what I had in mind is you turn to me for your searchings... Concerning the matters I'll assist as instructed."
Gabriel chimed in with a devilish smile. He didn't necessarily had any plans himself but hopefully Farren perhaps could give Gabriel some motivation to continue on his devilish schemes.

It was quiet for a minute as Gabe finished speaking. I watched the pair, eyes looking forward with a mix of amusement and concern. This wasn't exactly how I wanted it, but then again, this did seem like a good opportunity. After a few moments of tense silence I finally said, "Okay Gabe. I'll take you up on your offer, at least on a trial basis. We'll see if this team-up is worthwhile." I reached behind me and picked up the form that had been meant for Kevala. I tore it in half, crumbled up the bits, and threw the pieces in the recycling bin on the floor. "I don't need forms for you Gabe, since you're technically no longer a high school student. Kevala, it seems you're free to go."
I slid down off my desk and walked around behind it, finally taking a seat like a "normal" teacher in the rolling recliner behind it. I opened up m laptop and logged into the network. I had some rearranging of plans and such to do. I looked up from the screen and said "I'll contact you when we're ready to go, Gabe. Kevala, I'm sorry our first meeting had to go this way. I hope in the future you'll understand why I had to go that far, though I won't blame you for hating me for a long time to come." I really meant what I said and it probably showed, for all the good it did me. That was probably the most honest and sincere thing I'd said the whole time.
"Unless either of you have any more questions, I think we're pretty much done. Thank you for coming."

Her eyes turned to Gabriel. A brow raising as she thought over what he had said. He was going to take her place in this?
She honestly did not know how to react to that. She had needed his help, but had never thought to receive it in this manner. Leaning in she would speak softly though she was sure that Farren would be able to hear her.
"Thank you Gabriel. If you need my assistance in this. I am here."
She would then place a kiss to his cheek. He was her best friend in almost every regard. It only made sense that she would willingly assist him. Farren? Not so much.
Leaning back then, she watched as the other man tore up the forms and spoke his apologies to her. Her eyes narrowing upon him as she gave a light growl.
"You underestimate how long I am capable of despising a man who would threaten a pair of infants to satisfy his own pathetic wants."
With that she would grab her bag, sliding it up onto her shoulder and standing. Her eyes casting a glance toward Gabriel as her hand came to rest on his shoulder.
"I shall see you later for training yes?"
Waiting for his reply and then nodding.
"Call me when you are ready."
She would then turn, not even caring to give this other male another minute of her time. Heading toward the door, granted nothing else stopped her, and opening it to step outside.
She needed to get home. She suddenly had the urge to hold her kids and make sure that they were okay. Not to mention she had to speak with Spike about upping the security around the house when they were gone.
She did not trust this situation or the slime ball that sat behind the desk.

Gabriel made a calm smirk, thankfully he'd been able to think quickly and divert two potential problems all he needed to do now was appeal to Farren's better nature and if Gabriel knew the type of man as well as he hoped he did all Gabriel would need to do is let into his desires. At least for the time being. When it became inopportune towards his own goals Gabriel would show him just how cunning he could be. A composed smile and a nod.
"Quite the pleasure Farren... Don't feel yourself a stranger."
Gabriel kept up with the pleasantries downplaying Kev's own violent nature. He'd have to get back to her later on her thanks because in truth he didn't want her or her children hurt if there was any way he could oppose it. Walking at her flank he caught up easily placing a hand around her waist guiding tastefully towards the exit as though they were in fact a pair. However in Gabriel's heart she was merely one of his closest friends.
"Don't worry all too much, he's simply an ambitious man, and they are best controlled by playing to their strengths, if you oppose them they'll be more hell than help. Believe me I know." He chuckled easily once he was out the door reminded of himself but almost a year back.
