It was another day in school. Another day she went without knowing and another day she grew more irritated with the whole situation. She had heard from several that they knew Leon and Spike and that they were around here somewhere. But none could ever tell her where that was.
It was enough to drive any sane person mad with frustration. But she kept herself under control. Making her way outside to the courtyard of the school she slid her bag off her shoulder so she could dig through it for her lunch.
Not really paying attention to the stuff going on around her. No she as too busy trying to think and trying to find her one sandwich in the midst of all the crap she stuffed into her bag.
Geeze! She really had too much stuff.

Not far off a large man had thrown a double axe handle down ont he back of a young fighter from behind throwing him to the ground, it was a sneak attack the guy was being jumped. The big man stepped back with a slender male and a normal appearing female.
"Get up Spike, that position is pathetic."
Spike would growl as he pushed himself to a standing position.
"Bitch."
"Such unneeded language. You know what we want."
"Tch. Bring it on then."
The big man would rip a bench from its position in the ground and lift it up, but Spike didn;t give him enough time to raise it high, it got to about the big mans stomach in height before Spike crashed straight through the bench with his right fist slamming into the big mans gut throwing him away and to the ground, the surprise of the others gives Spike a second to turn to his left bringing his right palm up into the slim guys chin throwing him up, and before reaction could be made Spike spun to his right bringing his right leg up and kicking the chick in the side of the head causing her to spin around in the air.
All three would hit the ground at one time.
"Fools."

She was lost in her own thoughts for a moment when a name was spoken not that far off which definately caught her attention.
Spike?
Surely it would not be that easy??
Her brow raising as she turned toward the sound and spotted the events taking place. Ack!
Tilting her head as a grin spread across her lips, a few blond curls falling down into her face as she forgot the quest for the sandwich and slung her bag back onto her shoulder.
Making her way toward the little group now, three of them laying on their backs. Yeah...that was him alright.
Leaning back against a nearby tree she would speak out loud enough for him to her.
"Having fun cousin?"
Her slender arms crossing over her chest.

A familier voice rang from near by, and his head was picking up the phone reading the caller ID.
"Astrid?"
Spike would turn and look, sure enough his cousin was right there, a large grin covering his face. He would rush over to greet her with a hug.
"How have you been cousin? Are you going to school here now?"
Spike was all happy to see her. It had been a while since the last time he had seen her. He remembered watching their fathers spar a few times, it was always a great experience, but he had not seen Uncle Grave at the Temple in some time.

She smiled as she wrapped her arms about him. Hugging him back. FINALLY!!! She was never so happy as she was right then. Pulling back she would raise her brow to his question. Apparently word had not spread of what had happened. At least not to him.
"Yes, I go to school here now. I was sent looking for Uncle Leon."
She stopped there. Sadness filling her eyes as she ran her tongue over her lips. Struggling to find the words to continue.
"Father is dead."
She choked out the words as she drew in a deep, steadying breath. She had thought perhaps the rest of the family would know. But apparently not.

"Hm?"
When she mentioned she was sent looking for Leon, but not only that sent, he was sure it had to do with the Councel, then it hit.
"What? How did Uncle Grave pass? I'm so sorry cousin."
Spike would hug her again, this time softly as sentament to her. He didn't know the details, the councel didn't say anything, it would likely enrage Leon, which was probably the smart move.
"We'll take care of you cousin."

Now this was a touchy subject. She really did not know if it was true he was dating a Katashi or not but either way he would find out soon enough right?
"The Katashi clan. The came into our home, killing both him and Mother."
She accepted that hug and sighed softly. Fighting back tears as she nodded to his last words.
"I have been searching for you and Uncle Leon for weeks now. I was beginning to think I would not find you."
It was true. Not that she would have given up but still!

Spike's eye brow twitched at the fact the Katashi clan would be so brave as to take out Grave, The Demon Eye'd. But besides that it would seem it was something Astrid wasn't willing to let go any time soon. I mean, who would, truth be told. If it had been Spike in her position he would become a monster in order to destroy them all.
"I'm sorry Astrid. We should go to see father. He will know what to do."
He would look at her now though with a raised eye brow? Yes Spike had been gone for a few weeks, along with Leon... Due to Spike's new position as the Vanguard... Leon found it nessicary Spike learn some new... Tricks.
"We have been in the mountains training. If we had known... But that is besides the point, Leon will know."

No, she was not willing to let it go anytime soon. Though she dared not ask if it was true about him dating one of them. She would keep that to herself for now. Even though she had met the girl, she hoped that it was still a lie.
"Yes. I would very much like to see Uncle."
That was an understatement. She was desperate to see him. She had been sent here with a purpose and had yet to fulfill it. To her there was no excuse. But now, she felt great relief in knowing that it was almost over. She would soon find Leon and things would hopefully start to get better.
Offering a smile towards Spike she would reach up tucking her hair behind her ear.
"I am just happy that I have finally found you. I was starting to worry."
She laughed lightly. Trying to hide that she had been extremely worried in fact.

"Dont worry. Leon will help you."
Spike would lead Astrid into one of the buildings to a classroom where he would open the door and peek inside. Hopefully it wouldn't take long for the teacher to get the point about needing to see him.
"He has to tell them to wait."
He would say as he would lean against the wall after shutting the door. Leon would soon be walking out of the room.

Leon was busy teaching students about common folk stories that had history and some truth to it, though no one would ever know for sure since most people either discounted or gave random information about said folk tales. It was still part of history.
But a head poked into his door and seemed to be burning holes in his head. So Leon would tell the class to read the stories about the characters in the books he handed out while he attended to the problem.
Walking out he would look down to both Spike and...
"Astrid?"

She followed behind Spike, her eyes looking over the building as they moved into it. Leaning back against the wall as they waited.
In her hands, she clasped her backpack, letting it settle upon the floor as her eyes cast a glance up to the ceiling. She would stay here all freaking night if that is what it took damnit!
But luckily it did not take that long. Soon enough the door opened and Leon was there. FINALLY!!!!!!!
Her eyes turning toward him as he spoke her name. A smile spreading across her lips as she nodded softly.
"Uncle."
Took all she had not to bounce with joy. But yeah...so not going there. Instead she would let those brown eyes go up to his. She soooo did not want to tell him. Nope, instead she nudged Spike with her elbow.
Yep. He could tell Leon about her Father.

Yep pleasentries where exchanged, Spike could tell by the look in Leon's eyes that he didn't like the fact Astrid had the blond hair... But it would be useless for him to question why since with a nudge, Astrid made it apparent that Spike was going to answer with a nudge.
"Dad... Astrid was sent by Uncle Ken. The Katashi killed her parents."
Yep, Spike prepared himself for the coming horribly painful rage that would likely spill forward from Leon at the news of his eldest brother's death.

Leon did indeed not like the fact Astrid's hair had changed. It was a sign something terrible had happened. Just as he assumed the news was given, the only sign of emotion would be the fact Leon's smile went away. His eyes still hidden behind shades, and the light over his head would flicker out.
Leon would take a few steps up to Astrid and wrap his arms around her, pulling her to his chest.
"Everythings going to be alright now. Your safe."
Leon knew everything in that moment. The choice would be made that she be trained in combat to take the place of her father. Those where big shoes, but it would also mean he would be teaching the fist of revenge, not something he enjoyed doing, but it was for the growth of a Sudeki Warrior.
He wanted to let Astrid know with this gentle notion that he would do everything he could to help her.

She felt those arms wrap about her, pulling her to him as her head came to rest against his chest.
In that instant she felt all those walls she had put up wishing to give way. Wishing to break and allow the tears she had done so good not to cry spill forth.
She had been so worried that she would have to admit failure in finding her Uncle...so worried that she would fail, that she had not let herself think about the death of her parents. Her hands slipping to her wrist where she kept her Father's headband, drawing in a deep breath before allowing her arms to wrap tightly about her Uncle.
"I am just glad that I have found you."
She spoke nothing else. Not trusting herself not to start crying.
