Drea observed as Kazuya made his own move - only to be sent to the ground just moments after. Her only indication as to just what had happened was the sting on her cheek and the words that came just after them.
"You disgrace this place, and Emily. You can't even follow a simple request, you need to do it "your way" based on a misguided feeling you have for her. This wasn't just for feelings and clamour- blood oaths healed with Qi bind us to our words, and both of you spat on it."
It was David.
Funny how he could condemn them for not following his directions when it wasn't he that they were supposed to be swearing loyalty to. And funny how he condemned her for being a traitor and losing respect when he'd never even bothered to allow her the opportunity to help rescue her twin sister from Gabriel.
His spittle landed on her cheek and she simply wiped it away before getting to her feet, her eyes cold.
"There- i returned the favor. You both disgust me, and have lost my trust. If you even care."
She'd been struck one too many times by her parents to feel pain at his blow. She'd been a disappointment and a failure one too many times to let his words hurt her. It wasn't him that was her concern.
Still. He had no real reason to lash out at either of them.
He turned his back on them to walk to his station, but Drea refused to simply take his actions, insults that they were.
"There will be no questions. Swear it now, bind it with your Qi, or walk." Those had been his words.
"There are no questions, David Blaze," she said, her voice ringing out clearly. "I swore my fealty to my sister, and so did Kazuya. Kazuya was bound by his Qi long before you and I long before he." In this she was referring to Kazuya's own vow of fealty to her sister and her own blood ties.
"Just because we do not follow your example and submit to your demands does not mean that we are not faithful to Emily." Her eyes narrowed - the only hint to her smoldering rage. She'd long since learned not to let her emotions show, but his behavior was more deplorable than theirs.
"There was no reason to offend or humiliate either of us."
Here, she nodded to her sister.
"I swore my loyalty to Sacricia Emily Lourdes E. Delos Santos and have no need of your permission to aid her in her efforts."
She stopped her verbal attack as Emily began the next step of the ceremony by calling both David and Gabriel forward. She silenced herself before clenching at the sides of her lengthy shirt to keep the furious shaking of her hands invisible.
