School hadn't been on Gabriel's top performance charts, he was never one for enjoying his time here. No gathering friends or fun times, no parties or even the subtle talk with teachers amused him. Rather it was a literary world of books, knowledge and above all his favored things were hi enemies that granted him something of fun times. But now upon his intro to College things had to calm down, or so he'd image, not so much the bickering quarrelsome battles for titles or recognition more so the battles against term papers and struggles of finishing three books in a fortnight. Ahh twas the life of a student. Damn it all.
Sitting in a neatly comprised black attire, suited best as well with the Luna coat fixated atop his shoulders Gabriel sat watchful at the book he'd read millions of times, The Art of War by Sun Tzu. Always his favorite book in times of nostalgia. Looking back at past deeds, good or bad they all seemed brighter as the times went on.
"You're going to have to be quieter to sneak up on me..."
He would say with a firm grin flipping the page subtly licking the tip of his finger to provide the necessary assistance to press on. His attention directed dutifully to the pages filled with knowledge beyond his years. How many different interpretations they held not only in war but in every facet of life.

"Hmhm..looks like someone's a little touchy."
A lgihthearted voice spoke up behind him. Nessa laughed lightly, moving past him to an empty seat not too far in front of him, and a little bit to his 2 o'clock. She set her bookbag down by her feet and flounced into the chair gracefully. She was dressed in a plaid mini, white thigh high socks, mary janes and a white blouse (buttoned up, mind you!). Her long blonde tresses were pulled back in her usual ponytail, and with a huff, Nessa blew her disheveled bangs out of her bright brown eyes. A light jingle drew attention to the dog tags wrapped around her left wrist like a charm bracelet, but she moved as if she hardly noticed them.
"Sorry if I disturbed you, this school is just a lot more trickier than I originally thought."
Lie. In fact, she had studied the drawn up floor plans on her way to California. But it all went with her buttery new school girl facade. Out of the four of them, Vanessa was probably the best actress. She had the incredible amount of charm, cunning, and willingness to blindside others for her own benefit that made her skills so silky smooth.
She wasn't even sorry.

"Hmhm..looks like someone's a little touchy."The firm smile still set in place as he hastily watched the gal take her seat. Of course he didn't exactly recognize her, no scratch that not at all. New girl and of course the testosterone driven facade within him felt the erratic need to leap out boisterously saying "Theres a party in my pants and your invited." Of course such a man of refined efforts didn't go quite so forward in his attempts regardless he was male and therefore cursed with the little voice inside his testicles head. "Sorry if I disturbed you, this school is just a lot more trickier than I originally thought."So she was lost too? Seemed as though on any other day Gabriel would be winning the game of games, mentally checking his list he'd quickly analyze the scenario: New Girl
- Hot
- Lost Damsel in distress
- HOT!!
[/s] [/li][li]Get number [/li][/ul][/i] "Oh? Lost already... may I be of some assistance?"Gabriel would say fluidly in the deep French accent thinking cleverly of himself of course knowing the girl could prove otherwise fatal. "Where are you headed?"

A pale pink tinge reached the girl's cheeks. Accents were hot, and as he spoke, she could feel his aura starting to reach out around him as he engaged her in conversation. Hook, check. Now for the line and sinker, and we will be all set.
"Y-You're French? Are you from France?"
She asked, completely disregarding the fact that she was 'lost.' It was the kind of question Chelsea would ask. If he had an accent, he was one of two things: From France, or a Faker. Either way Nessa didn't care, it was to establish conversation, and this boy looked like he wouldn't protest to talking about himself. She smiled, sparkling brown eyes locked on his. It was a shame, he was really cute. Granted, she couldn't completely read him at this point, so she did not know of his intents other than what he showed. Reading between the lines helped, this boy was intrigued because she was attractive. If she had been scrawny with coke bottle glasses and fussy hair, he might have pointed her in the direction of the main office to get a map, if that.
Like with many situations before this encounter, Vanessa was going to use this to her advantage because that was what she did. Taking knowledge and twisting it to her advantage. This poor sucker wouldn't know what hit him.

"Y-You're French? Are you from France?"
A firm smile followed by a sturdy chuckle and Gabriel's face became livid with a sure light. Settling calmly following the noticeable rise of his attentiveness he shirked back into a humble air. Yes he'd learned not enough to go over the top in years prior having made a fool of himself on more than one occasion but he learned.
"Oui."
He gave a smooth wink again still feeling quite confident with himself for the time being. At least until he'd read more into the girl, much like her despite the male gene running through him he was still Gabriel Seran, the ever plotting character wanting to know everything like a freshman girl.
"So would you like an escort or...?"
Gabriel would say slowly reminding her of the aforementioned thought, still trying to manage and elusive air to himself always liking the game of cat and mouse more than anyone.

"Oh!"
She exclaimed, as if shaken back to her original train of thought. Nessa giggled, pressing her lips together as she thought about it for a split second. She smiled, climbing to her feet once again and picking up her bookbag.
"Sure! I mean, if you're not busy..."
She certainly wouldn't want to drag him away from his...reading. In all actuality, Vanessa didn't care about anything anyone else did. He offered to escort her, so who was she to deny him? If anything, she'd be doing him a favor by paying him some attention.
'If anything, we'll be doing them a favor.'
Yes, everything was already slowly falling into place.

"Busy? Non." Gabriel would say fluidly setting the book aside from the place he'd taken it in the holder behind his seat arching back for a second as a breath came through and eventually bringing himself to a stand.
There were mixed interpretations in his mind about the girl. She seemed like a ditz now, sort of scatter brained but he'd met girls who played that card to get attention that was possibly the conclusion here, in which case the game was for the both of them and not just him making the odds that much more difficult and certainly that much more exciting and unexpected.
"Shall we?" He said offering a hand out of the seat curiously walking onward with or without her grasp but of course he'd meander at a slow even pace gliding out the front doors of the library holding the door open gingerly like a gentlemen as the rest of the school lay beyond a maze of scattered paths.
"So thats the Library, thats the Main office up front, and the classrooms are more or less scattered about I'd say. I hope you don't have something in particular in mind I figure we can go on and head by the back roads. Less people to deal with."
Gabriel would grin with a small shrug, he wasn't the type to hang around large masses out of pleasure, unless he had a purpose to be in a large group he'd avoid them like the plague.

When faced with an opponent, or person she wished to gain knowledge of, Nessa was always watchful for that chance to touch them. (Not like THAT!) A brush on the arm, a handshake, a help up. She gratefully took his hand, and flash, his aura came into eagle sharp focus.
There's the line.
Whenever this happened, Nessa had to restrain herself from smirking devilishly. It was like opening the door to a candy shop, everything was at her fingertips. When he helped her up, she released his hand, she had what she needed for now. She paid attention as he showed her around, mentally comparing her notes to the actual place.
"Backroads are fine, heh."
She laughed at the term he used. Back roads were more likely deserted. His willingness to travel them meant for one he probably didn't like heavily populated areas like the main roads of the city. Not that she blamed him, the noise pollution emitted from the filth that made up the majority of human kind was enough to give her a headache. Second, it meant that he trusted her, or at least did not find her a threat.
Very good...
Bleep bleep! Her pocket sounded off. As she walked with him, Vanessa pulled her phone from her pocket and slid it open. It was a text message from Daniel.
'You're taking too long'
In a skilled flourish as with most teens these days, she typed back a quick reply:
'more str than fst. def pwrfl, but proud. taking lessr rds. fllw.'
And just like that she closed her phone and slid it back into her pocket with a practiced motion. Texting was so common these days that hardly anyone paid attention to others texting, so she wouldn't draw much suspicion. After all, he didn't have a reason not to trust her....yet.
"So where are we now?"
She asked curiously, taking a look around her and keeping in step with him as they entered the less trafficked parts of Long Beach.

What Vanessa Knows:
* General knowledge of stats (not actual numbers or categories, but the overall feel) * Temperament * She can now see change in mood *She can now read muscle movements/heartbeat better * She can feel the general nature of his Qi (not specifics) * She can see his aura (heightened overall intuition of the character)

Following the more or less unpaved roads broken down and battered from either overuse or poor upkeep the latter being more suggestive of the two Gabriel lead the way having no clear destination in mind rather just to reflect upon his years here. Peaceful was a hard thing to say that it was being justly the opposite by all means, never a dull moment when they were at play but then again that was the thrill of this school.
"So where are we now?"
"uh...?!"
His head angled up the hill quickly to the place he'd now come to know as "Saint's tree" seeing as he'd found a commonality with the boy up here and would benefit from naming a legacy after the boy even though he'd stayed relatively out of Gabriel's path up till recent days.
"Just here, I come here to think mainly..." Gabriel sent a shourt shrug in response smiling briefly as he contorted a facial expression depicting a difficult thought process that could be mistaken for constipation.

This was almost too easy. How was it that the strongest people in school were the most solitary? A public place was always safer than travelling alone, at least there there are witnesses and the possibility of help. He was basically asking for it...
Vanessa smiled, now would be a good time to work her magic just a little bit more. The great outdoors, fresh air, a beautiful girl, it was enough to make anyone a little bit fuzzy. She slipped her hand into his, the slight pressure indicating that she was using him as a bit of support to walk up the oh-so-steep hill.
"I could imagine, it's reallly beautiful here...."
Nessa sighed, taking in the scenery around them. mentally she was marking the trees, foliage, general topography, and keeping her peripheral vision sharp for signs of Daniel. The hill was a little more open than flat land as they could see back down all around them, but there was still a fair amount of foliage.

His feet were soft, unheard of. Stealth was his masterpiece, his shining achievement. He could be behind you in seconds without you being aware in the slightest. The foliage provided enough cover for him to see them and follow without incident- that is until he saw them holding hands. His brows drew down, his middle finger pushing the middle bring of his glasses back up his nose since thew were pushed down by his frown.
This was unnecessary. She got a a little too literal with her work- when he said to snare him in, he didn't meant in a totally physical way such as now. He wasn't paying attention as he walked and, without warning, stepped on a large stick, the branch breaking with a highly audible snap. He ducked down- he didn't want the kid to run before he had a chance to get there.
He would peek above the bushes to make sure he was no longer looking, his eyes straying to the couple along the skyline.

Again as contact was achieved there was the vain thought of his own victory telling him to ignore any suspicion that could ruin the next few moments thusly following this. Good things and optimism however were rarely to follow Gabriel's path of hardships.
"I could imagine, it's reallly beautiful here...."
The confident smirk rose in his cheeks settling his gaze upon her as he shifted slowly, "Aye indeed it is."
*snap*
The sound of foliage cracking and shifting behind him hindered the mans attention, though Gabriel didn't act like a deer caught in the headlights, rather felt the need to address this current dissolution.
"Is someone following you?" Gabriel would ask in a low voice not aimed at being accusing rather speculative.
"You can come out now." Eyes fixated curiously at the bushes.

The bushes would rustle slightly, moving obviously.
Suddenly, from the bushes ran...a raccoon.
If, perchance, Gabriel happened to go and check behind the bushes, he would find nothing, and fifty feet to his right, Daniel would be behind new bushes, replacing his glasses, having removed them and vanished from sight.

When the twig snapped, Nessa's eyes snapped to the source of the sound. The French boy also heard the sound, seeming more curious than paranoid. When he asked her if she was being followed, Nessa narrowed her eyes in a confused manner, shaking her head.
'You can come out now.'
As if summoned, a raccoon dashed out from the bush in question, darting among the trees and foliage before disappearing again. Vanessa laughed lightly, raising her hand to his cheek and gingerly turning his face back to her. She didn't remove her hand.
"You're cute." 'Where the hell are you, Daniel.'
Nessa smiled, taking a step closer to him and locking his gaze with hers. She had no doubt that the twig had been Daniel, it had been a heavier sound than the raccoon could have made, but generally Daniel was much more careful than that. What exactly did he have up his sleeve? Vanessa's only instructions were to get him alone and keep him distracted until Daniel arrived.

A raccoon? Seriously, what a way to make a big tough guy facade shrivel up shortly to that of a paranoid nut case jumping at every shifty movement he sees. But he let out a loud chuckle shortly after seeing it feeling a bit of embarrassment rise in his cheeks. Seemed as though rather than his suspicious mentality of always suspecting things to get progressably worse was turning around, perhaps things were starting to mellow out about now.
"You're cute."
The gentle sway of his attention to lock with hers was unavoidable indeed. But it did reveal a bit of subvert information to him through body language rather than that of words. She was playing a game of her own, grasping his attention with whatever means that entailed.
"Well you never know when the big bad raccoon could just maul us at any moment.."
Gabriel winked with a charming gesture settling a hand at her hip closing the space barrier just a bit more for his own sake. His breath was steady and calm rather move focus was put into his eyes than any other sense at this moment that and touch as his right hand held her close enough that it would give away any false pretense.
"That or something more dangerous..."
'like a...'
