Her journey had taken her to a dark and unfamiliar street; the lamps were all dead saving for one, which Vespyr moved toward. A dimly lit sign above piqued her interest immediately, though some of the letters were missing from it.
“LONG BEA_H MENT_L HE __TH CL _NIC” She entered, the knife feeling rather warm in her grip, and found herself in a dismal waiting room with a few chairs and a clerk’s desk. Behind it, the darkened figure of a man sat in silence. She stood, staring vacantly at him, unable to depict his features as the room was lightless and filled with shadow. In her hand the knife had grown hot, and she felt that it was urging her onward somehow, as if it had a conscience and a purpose.
Words found their way onto her tongue, and she spoke in a grave and quiet voice that barely disturbed the silence that drifted like fog through the dark room.
“Take me to the Holder of Sadism.”

Kiyoshi followed rather obidiently behind the girl as she lead the way into the nearby building. The Japanese male snarled at the smells that came at him upon entering the place, truly unpleasant to him. Soon he saw exactly why as they passed a table with a bunch of teenagers taking drugs, not something he wanted to be around in the slightest. Needless to say he would forego the druggies and follow the red/black rabbit to whoever he was looking for.
In his head there was a startling comparison growing between this whole situation and “Alice in Wonderland” or “The Matrix”. If the holder of choice was some black guy in a trenchcoat offering him two pills Kiyoshi was going to lose it. Still he kept his guard raised just in case.

She...knew what I was talking about? That was unexpected.
I followed as the receptionist led the way, debating with myself the whole time whether she was hot or not. It was as if I couldn't tell, as if every time I tried to get a good glimpse of her my head would turn away or I couldn't focus clearly. Ever have a dream where you're fighting to keep your eyes open but simply can't, then wake up to find you were actually trying to open your eyes in your sleep? It was kind of like that.
Wait...dream? Dreaming? Sound vaguely familiar...
We reached a set of stairs in a claustrophobic hallway and the receptionist began to climb upwards. I tried to see where the stairs led but they disappeared into darkness, much like the lobby's edges had been shrouded in black. Weird, the building didn't look this big from the outside. I started climbing just before the receptionist faded out of sight. I didn't want to be left alone in this place. I lost track of time as the stairs seemed to go on forever. Before long I couldn't see anything on either side of me but steps and more steps. I called up to the girl,
"Hey, this doesn't feel right. Where the hell are we going, anyway?"
