-- Ah, yes... The sterotypical Asian parents and mucisal instruments made an interesting combination. I hadn't really been forced to take it up though. I did it because I thought that the piano was cool at the time. Now, I thought the electric guitar was cool. My, how interests change over the years. But I maintained piano skills over the years. I honestly appreciated the elegant sound after having loud metal blasted into my ears.
-- Teach her? Hmm... I never really did consider myself that great a teacher. It was just one of those things I wasn't really made for. And I had never tried teaching the piano before. Ah, well. Nothing ventured, nothing leanred, right? Plus, I didn't want to turn her down.
"I can give it a shot."
-- I scootched over, making room for her on the bench.
"Have you ever used a piano before?"
-- It was a question worth asking. If she had had some prior experiance, it'd give me somewhere to start.

When he asked if she ever played the piano before, she was slightly hesitant to answer because she wasn't sure what he meant by "use". She used the piano for an accompanyment, but she assumed he asked if she ever played it before. She has but then...what would his definition of "playing the piano" be? All she's done is go up and down the keys so...
"...a couple of times."
Her head was looking down at the beautiful white keys of the piano. It made her wonder how, and why, kids from this school didn't come in here and mess it up. Maybe they thought the same thing, or something similar?
She hoped that she'd be able to coordinate her hand movements by the end of today, but she didn't get her hopes up in case she couldn't. She was a fast learner, for certain things, but piano was nothing like learning how to hit a bat with a baseball...

"I see."
-- Okay, so where would we start? Going by what she said, I assumed she hadn't really used it too much. Maybe fiddling with it, but nothing really intense. The thoughts raced through my head. Well, that helped me gage a little bit. I adjusted my glasses one more time, and smiled.
"Okay, have a seat," I said gently patting the half of the bench I had left for her. There was plenty of room. "We'll start from the basics I guess."

She settled herself down next to the guy on the bench, her eyes fixated on the piano keys, her hands folded on her lap. Right. The basics...would that be the posture she's supposed to sit at, or the posture of her fingers that press down on the keys? One reason why Mitsuki never learned to play the piano is because even though she doesn't lean her wrist on her violin when she plays, she always manages to lean her wrist against the white keys when pressing down, instead of having them curve up. That, and she only knows the scales to tune her violin.
"..basics..."

((ooc: Pardon the REEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY late post >.>))
"Yeah, basics. Scales and other simple... stuff."
-- I was so not made for teaching. Well, that didn't mean I couldn't try, right? So, where to start off? I couldn't just tell her to play something. Let's see... Oh, I know~! I put my right index finger on a white key that was basically right in the middle of the piano.
"Well, you can probably tell that's a C. It's kinda like a referance point..."
-- Shoot me. Please.

OOC: >>...it's fine. At least you posted though.
Uh...right.
"I'm...pretty sure I know that..."
Maybe she shouldn't have said that. Maybe she should've just let him teach her whatever, but...it just slipped? She stared blankly at the piano keys in front of her and rubbed the back of her neck. Maybe learning right now isn't such a great idea.
"Okay... C is the reference point.."
She repeated what he said so she'd remember...although she already knew...
"I know some of the major scales..?"
Maybe that'd help him where to start off?
